The way people are treating Solo Players makes me feel DISGUSTED to be a co op player
You treat them like they're nothing but dirt, only fit to be under your heel. And now I'm expected to view them the same way just because I Do Raids and PvP with clanmates?! I'm not above them and [b][i]YOU'RE[/i][/b] not above them either! We all paid the same money for this game, why should we segregate ourselves?!!
Edit: It seems my post didn't rub on some people correctly, Allow me to (Try) and Rectify that.
I am not saying Solo players shouldn't have to at least put in the effort to get the endgame loot whether that be with randoms or new friends they make along the path, But when players openly attack and insult them, That's where I draw the line.
Example: a forum user (As much as it'd add at least SOME validity to my case I cannot state their name) made a forum post which has now been removed by Moderators. In said post, they called solo players "the problem" and that they should "Play how the game is intended or not play at all"
Example 2: This comment comes from this very thread! (you know who you are and the rest can see it if they search)

Here’s the deal: if you only play solo (like I do), you have to accept that parts of cooperative games will be inaccessible. Not whine and cry that it’s not fair that every game isn’t tailored to your individual desires.

Yea, communicating in game has always been terrible, i dont understand why you have to go outside of the game to find a group for anything. This is one if the few games that does this. But also on pc there is tower chat and NO ONE uses it so..... im not sure if people dont know about it or what.

I play solo and co-op. Depends on if my clan is on or not. If the game was strictly co-op, then you wouldn't be able to play solo at all. Besides, doesn't Zavala say "We have to get a certain Guardian on board" the armagedon, not a certain fireteam?

I generally play solo. I'm mostly introverted and not the most social. I do however group up if I really want a weapon or armour set contained in raids or nightfalls. I used to play Wow solo and occasionally do dungeons. I think people that are less socialable need to be welcomed and encouraged, not poked at.

My whole clan quit long ago, so if I play it is solo. I've accepted that D2 isn't a "way of life" like D1 was for so many of us. I was probably too addicted to D1 anyway, so not having a group of people who are on every night is probably an ok thing in real life. I'll be back playing the DLC solo to do what I can where there is matchmaking, or in public ares. After I've done whatever I can do in solo, public events, strikes, etc. I'll go do something else and wait for the next DLC. Solo players might want to realize that this isn't a game to play everyday forever. Just play as much as you like, then do something else. If you want to advance, or have the really good experiences like raiding or winning a lot in PVP, you have to go find people to play with.

I'm a solo player ( now that the clan has disbanded ) and I've come to the conclusion that solo players are no longer wanted nor welcome in destiny so the best thing for me and perhaps other solo players is to leave d2 so PvP players can have their game . Bungie is actively pushing d2 into a PvP/ fireteam only game and pushing pve / solo players out ( after all the numbers prove d2 is a PvP only game ) so I say we leave and let them have at it .

Many in d1 said they just wanted harder modes, didnt even care for rewards, maybe an emblem saying what they did. Well they got that, and they quit playing because of lack of rewards. It was all bullshit. Casuals didnt ruin the game. It was a healthy balance of the extreme on each side. The whining and bitching from both sides led to this. Bungie tried to make a game so nerfed of everything that, no one would bitch about it. Be nice to find some community leaders that speak for the 80% of us in the middle. The people that just love and want to play a great, consistent destiny that doesnt change and cater to bitches seasonally.

8 RepliesRight, we all paid money for the same game. Why segregate yourselves? You segregated yourselves when you paid for a MMO style game that is co op, team based. Not trying to be rude, but it amazes that you solo players are missing the whole point of the game and try to change the very fabric of this game. I'm not saying there shouldn't be activities you can do solo. There should be. There needs to be. And there is. But if you expect end game to be solo in a MMO style game, you are unfortunately mistaken. You guys knew full well what this game would be when you spent your own money on this game. No one made you buy it. And if you didn't know what you were buying, that isn't Bungie's fault and no one is treating you guys differently because of it. Now I know how salty this community can be even against other people that want to play co op and that's almost another issue in itself. But to your point, this game's objective is not to cater to solo players, it is meant to bring people together and always has been since D1.

Destiny has always been more fun to play when playing in/with a fireteam. Endgame has always required a premade fireteam. Progression being tied to endgame is long overdue with D2. Join a clan if your a solo player to keep your options open. Adapt or accept the game will become harder and you’ll be left behind.

7 RepliesThe whole ethos behind the creation of Destiny was Co-operation. Its great that solo players want to play but they must understand that this game was built in a certain way for a certain audience. Why is it that Destiny must change? why can't the solo players compromise a bit too?
