This DFA hand cannon grind has become quite irritating. Even in Destiny 1 doing a specific strike rewarded us with a special sniper (I forget the name). I've grinded in other games, but the RNG in this game is sheer madness at the moment.

I still can't believe I was farming since Thursday and never got this hand cannon. I was determined to get it and never did. I miss D1 already...good times. My old clan mates have moved on to other games. I am willing to give this game a chance because I've always enjoyed it..but then again..a change is in the air.

1 ReplyIf it was Nightfall + Heroic Strikes like we had in Destiny 1, I'd be more bearable, Bungie wants to bring D2 to D1 Year 3's level, but they're doing the bare minimum to get there which isn't cutting it
-
Grinding is dire,farming is better
-
2 RepliesI never got a Fatebringer in D1 EVER. I never even got the legendary version :( the grind was real back then.
-
3 RepliesIt's completely ass backwards compared to D1. After 40+ completions in D1 we could at least have something to show for it and keep grinding to get a better roll. This game doesn't provide that at all. I did 30+ prestige runs and never got it but after 10 or so speed runs on normal it finally dropped. My friend never got it so I kept going and we picked up a random off the forums and he got 2 DFAs in 3 runs. This shit is stupid annoying.
-
Because there's zero variety in the grind. The strikes play out almost identically every single time. If something as basic as enemy spawns were randomised it would help greatly. I've grinded the same quest/mission/monster thousands of times in other games but it gets old really really quick with D2

I wish Skeleton keys were still a thing

Its always been bad. Its why i never liked rng. Its all a slot machine. The “chase” if you will is doing the same thing over and over again until your number comes up and you get what you want.
-
1 ReplyNo offense, but to me it’s always been bad. The grind probably seems especially bad right now because there isn’t much to grind for, so instead of doing a handful of activities, you’ve probably just been grinding the Nightfall over and over again. I also suspect that the drop rates for the Nightfall specific loot is especially low ( since the community specifically asked for more stuff to “grind” for ).

2 RepliesGrinding for a Grasp of Malik or a Hopscotch was just as bad.
-
well you can grind coins and shards, to exchange for duplicates to get more shards... sarcam here. this was discussed during beta, never solved.

7 RepliesThat's because rng is the only thing that Bungie knows in terms of "grinding". Bungie seems to be in the mindset that the only way to keep players playing is to hide loot behind rng systems. That's why random rolls were rng, that's why reforging in D1 was rng, that's why master working is rng, and why even mods are rng. Vendors now sell armor sets, but prior to that it was all rng and vendor weapons are still rng. Bungie doesn't have enough experience in actual gaming to understand that, when players ask for something to grind for, they don't mean rng based progression. They don't seem to understand the concept of time respecting or progressive grinds that actually reward players for their time and effort, nor do they seem to understand the inherent consequences pure rng loot systems bring to a pvp arena based shooter like Destiny. I'm not saying rng needs to go, so don't get me wrong on that, but games with hybrid loot systems that create grinds that are time respecting and progressive, giving players a guaranteed method of reaching a goal, while using rng to possibly expedite the grind, are far more appealing to audiences than pure rng systems that can leave players with hundreds of hours sunk into the game having made no progress whatsoever toward their goal in that time.

D1 was just as brutal up until skeleton keys guaranteed loot at the end of strike activities. And even then you were rolling the dice on the roll. That is RNG madness.

This DFA hand cannon grind has become quite irritating.
It is NOT a grind, it's a lottery or slot machine and nothing more! Once again Bungie screwed the pooch and got things ALL WRONG! A grind, is a long quest with many steps, perhaps culminating with a nightfall in xx minutes with xx or better score and guaranteed drop at the end. That way it's not the same monotonous strike over and over where there is absolutely ZERO reason why one person should get it while others don't. A true grind in the form of a quest means that everyone has the same chances of getting the item, all they have to do is put in the effort (grind) to get it by doing the quest. THAT is what the playing community wants... not this absolute cluster f'k of bullshit RNG! As for Nightfall specific loot, they should have a pool of items and any one of them are available as a drop on ANY nightfall. That way people wouldn't feel the need to beat their head against the wall running the damn thing 100 times because they only have a week to get the stupid item. It took me 60 runs to get the D.F.A. and I'm so over this ridiculous nonsense. Bungie can f'k off!
-
14 RepliesTook me over 260 strikes to get the original hopscotch
-
lol what? It took some players thousands of hours to get a Vex, Crux, Ghally or a God Roll Luna.... You’ve been grinding less than a week.... Bring it on RNG!!!
-
it's pure RNG. for some it drops on their forestry regular run. For others thru still come up empty on their 100th. I'm glad it's not something that's a weekly guarantee. There's a reason to hit up the nightfall when this one rolls back around.

2 RepliesForum; "WE WANT GRIND" Bungie adds grind FORUM; DAFUQ IS THING? GRIND??!!!?!?!?!
-
Lol what happened to "we want incentive Bungo"? Now you have it and still cry. This is a step in the right direction.
-
3 RepliesI’m glad to have rewards to grind for. I grinded tons for a good Grasp or Imago Loop (never got a great one to this day). I love having something to search for.
-
😂😂😂 I thought people wanted something to grind for. The internet is great, I love it.
-
5 RepliesYOU WANTED SOMETHING TO GRIND FOR NOW YOU F HAVE IT STOP BITCHING ALREADY
-
12 RepliesThis isn't personal, as I've seen a lot of similar posts on this subject, but hasn't it only been out for about a week? Patience has left the building. Took me 8 months to get Hawkmoon.
-
I think the drop rate is still too high. You should not be able to obtain every weapon.
-
RNG Grind is just another word for 'My Own Prison.'
-
1 ReplyJust yesterday I saw a video where was showed that DFA is dropping way more in the normal nightfall than in the prestige.
