Obviously, I'm not a streamer nor am I going to the summit. But I just want to air an idea that may have been brought up but really needs consideration. Hopefully some of the attendees are already going to bring this up.
Patch Destiny 2 with an update that brings in D1 areas, missions, strikes, raids, etc.! Obviously that's a big undertaking to convert all the old content to the new game. BUT the bones are there already, and with a bit of polishing to bring those things over to the new engine I think it would certainly add a TON of content to an existing infrastructure that we already know people enjoy.
They don't have to modify sub-classes to be like the D1 ones. Let us use our new stuff & skills in these classic settings for a bit of new variety. Tweak the loot pools to include classic D1 gear with stats relevant to modern progression. Tag the areas into the game by having these marked as D1/Classic missions or areas. Combined with the road map of upcoming changes to make D2 feel like D1 towards the end, this can only align with it to make a better experience for everyone.
Compared to generating new content from the ground up, dusting off some of the old content and putting it into the game would get a lot of miles for relatively little extra investment on the developer's part. We already lost all the progress we made in D1 and many of us have moved on from D2 because ______ (fill in the blank). Nostalgia has a strong allure to people who invested large portions of their life into something. Why do you think exes have a bad habit of getting back together??

1 ReplyI agree with this statement it is classed as an mmo and should be treated as such don't let them push out des3 the people don't want it the people want one game with more and more content getting added to it rather than bringing out a new one ever 1.5 years
