It's like if AC4, Horizon, Far Cry, and the Witcher 3 had a baby, but that baby turned out to be just some regular guy named Ted. Ted picked up some good habits from his parents, sure, but they're watered down compared to the original. Ubisoft injected RPG elements and a new combat system. The stealth system is more like far cry than over AC games now, thanks to the addition of powerful and silent bows with plentiful ammo and easy, comfortable shooting mechanics. Overall it's a good game, but the most innovative thing it does is meld nice features from other series into one game, with decent, but not spectacular, results.

If you like Egyptian stuff from Egypt then go ahead. You won’t be disappointed

I'm pretty sure that you were wondering about the South Park dlc but the casa Bonita dlc released Tuesday I believe.

4 RepliesI couldn't get into it. As much as I love ancient Egypt, I'm still feeling AC fatigue, and I don't see myself going back for a long time, if ever. Only open world title I've actually really enjoyed in years has been Breath of the Wild. Before that? Umm... maaaaaaaybe Assassin's Creed IV.

Story and main character are the best since the ezio trilogy. The voice acting, especially bayeks is brilliant. The world is also well crafted if you like the history, but can be a little empty in terms of meaningful content if you’re just exploring. However, while the story is good, it has quite a slow start and a few pacing issues, as can be expected in such a big game. Furthermore, the combat, while more challenging, is not much better than previous entries. It is different, but just as bland (excluding the bow combat, that I thought was great). Those are the pros and cons I took from it. As a bonus neutral point, it is quite light on modern day story. Whether that’s a pro or a con depends on your opinion about the modern day arc.

3 RepliesReading through all the other comments here, I wish these were the responses I got when I askedhow good it was..

I like it, good change of pace from the previous 2 AC games.

As a long time AC fan.. this entry came off as bland, generic, and boring. I haven't even brought myself to finishing it. Is it a bad game? Not at all. The story in AC games is most important to me and this one seems very slow and monotonous to progress through. Being forced to do a handful uninteresting side quests in order to get to the main quest bores me. Gameplay is solid of course. Nothing extremely interesting or different from other RPGs. My sole issue is the rate at which you progress in the story. I get one main quest, then I must do a ton of boring side quests. Every single time. It's monotonous and feels like a chore. I don't mind doing 2 side quests, but 3 is the max for me. If you make me do more than 3 in order to get to the story I'm bored out of my mind.

1 ReplyMy son loves the AC series, but he is not the much into the new one.

Thanks for all the input the price is a bit heavy so maybe until next sale i am still thinking about it thought thanks again.
-
3 RepliesIf that's the case...and you like open-world games...then get it. My only complaint with it is that the pace of the story is a little bit slow for me.
-
10 RepliesIf you like the theme, go for it. Maybe try to catch a deal. Gameplay was good enough, straightforward and fun. Occasional/ typical AC bug.. yada yada yada.. yep. The plot felt sectioned af, but I suppose the new approach to gameplay explains it.

Edited by ABeardedViking: 3/19/2018 4:35:49 AMI enjoyed it very much,I loved the ancient egypt setting. Its closer to the Witcher 3 then previous AC games

It's different, but also familiar. One tip though: keep your Hidden Blade upgraded as much as possible. If it's too low level, you won't be able to instantly kill enemies with it.
-
2 RepliesIt’s a weird RPG hybrid with pretty cool parkour. I rented it and fought some high level guys, pretty turned off by that whole aspect of the RPG theme.
-
It's a bit different style from other AC games but I really enjoy it, I especially enjoy all the cool weapons I have since I'm so far in the game. If you do end up getting it here are the weapons I would recommend you start with. Predator bow and a sword. Also don't upgrade your weapons until you hit max level otherwise you just blow through all your money

4 RepliesIt's not your typical Assassins Creed game, but it is beautiful. I didn't finish it, got to the high 20's level and I'll go back to it at some point. It has alot of repetition to it, but on the other hand you don't have to do all the quests but you seem to need to do some to level up or to get better items. I do hear the story gets better as you get farther in game. Some compare to the Witcher 3 in that respect. The protagonist reminds me a lot of Conner in AC 3, it's hard to know just who you are playing but then again as the story unfolds... that may get better too. I don't regret buying it.

2 RepliesVery good open world game. But very, very different from past AC games which is good or bad depending on what you like. I loved it and highly recommend it. Even the base game provides plenty of content for the price.

Never played it, don’t plan too.

It’s just another game. Nothing wrong with it per se, but nothing incredible either. 2 years from now it will just blend in with the other games we’ve all played. 7/10. If it’s on sale, go for it.
-
From someone I usually trust on good games or not, said it's about as good as Black Flag and some of the side quests are pretty good.

2 RepliesPersonally, I couldn’t stand it. It didn’t feel like Assassin’s Creed at all. But, the general consensus is that it was amazing.
