This event is being done right; in a way that doesn't target your wallet, makes Eververse take a backseat, intentionally gives you a good source to obtain Bright Dust, focuses on the intended feature of the event (PvP), but also awarding PvE players for just being there, it has activity-secific rewards, and has been covered by great communication ahead of time.
Even if you don't like the current state of the game, or think it's taking too long to fix the game, the easiest thing you can do, and should do, is login for Crimson Days, get some free rewards, and show Bungie this is a step in the right direction (and that you're actually willing to accept the changes you're asking for in the first place) by rewarding them with a little of your time.
Good day.

10 RepliesAbsolute rubbish, log in for a cosmetic event? You guys have lost the plot more than Bungie supporting this crap.... Even thelast iron banner they only added two crappy weapons.... Sad attempt to help boost player numbers lol
-
1 ReplySo many toxic comments under this post. Is it so hard to believe that Bungie created a good event? I know a lot players who would play this mode even if there were no loot because it‘s just fun. Instead of always whining around it would be better to accept that this event is a small step into the right direction.

Rewarding someone for doing the bare minimum that is expected of them fosters an acceptance of mediocrity. Praising mediocrity is the downfall of all things.
-
1 ReplyBut it forces you to play the crappy PvP that few people like to begin with. Just like Destiny 1's Crimson Days, though that had better PvP, it's still forcing PvP down your throat. Hard pass.

3 RepliesLuke Smith on the street begging, with a sign... 'give us a login... please'

Let D2 and bungie burn. They become to be the worst kind of developer with morality of pig. ps. Sorry pigs.
-
21 RepliesGlad you’re enjoying it, but no thanks , I’ll just keep grinding good loot in the Division.
-
45 RepliesI appreciate your forgiving nature but why thank Bungie for doing the right thing? No doubt we should ACKNOWLEDGE it (see a previous post of mine) but Thanking somebody for doing an ethical business practice. That's Like thanking your bank for not being as bad as Wells Fargo.

4 RepliesTrust is hard to earn and easy to burn, man.

9 Repliesman this post is so sad. bungie is making baby steps so lets pat them on the back by logging in. yeah, i'll pass.

BDF much?

1 ReplyAt this point even my ps4 would refuse to reinstall.

Edited by Whiskey3niner: 2/14/2018 1:15:46 AMNot worth reinstalling, let alone logging in...and from what I see from the road map, it never will be.

19 RepliesEdited by Smough: 2/13/2018 10:15:22 PMNo matter what bungie does. No matter what bungie says. Some special snowflake who thinks he deserves everything will come along and hate on destiny 2, and most of the time it won’t be constructive, or thought out, or about something that needs fixing. Just pure hatred for something they probably don’t even deserve or have to play. Bungie could remove eververse, but that wouldn’t make a difference. If a single item was missing after eververse was removed every salty snowflake would claim that bungie is lazy now that eververse is gone and bungie can’t make microtransaction money. This large gathering of children some call the community will never be satisfied. Hell, half of the changes bungie made in destiny 2 were by request of the community that can’t make up its damn mind. Rant over, thanks for actually having fun with a game op.

4 RepliesWhat my 3 years worth of feedback wasn’t enough....D2 is terrible and needs to fade away
-
I must admit, I did eventually give bungie a log in.... Played control in D1 and had a blast, so much more fun than D2!

Edited by Grug: 2/15/2018 12:07:16 AMI like the event but it's still hard enjoying it because of the crucible meta. 2v2 becomes much, much less exciting when most of my matches are against two nightstalker hunters, with gemini, and antiope or dire promise. The meta is just too stale for the main part of the event to excite me. Thankfully there's no repeat gear from engrams and tess isn't selling them. Plus the crimson engrams are easy to earn other ways. Just wish I could actually enjoy the thing the entire event is based around. So overall, I would agree that this is a step in the right direction. But until large sandbox patches come around it's gonna be hard to log on the game.

3 RepliesI LOVE how Bungie leaves this post up, but when I post that Crimson Days is a mini trials they move it to feedback. My post wasn't even negative, all I said was it was pretty sweaty. What has your experience been like. I'm just amazed, you can't even discuss their game in this forum any longer.
-
Your correct it was done right. The tower looks good, the shaders are pretty cool. With that being said if you go solo in doubles good luck. I have the luck that I get paired with the morons who still think this is D1 and want to bum rush he opponent lol dear lord help me out with a competent partner :)
-
Edited by TehW3apon: 2/14/2018 7:36:00 PMI haven’t been able to bring myself to bother with PVP. No amount of in-game rewards will make something boring any better. The extra crimson engrams are fun. Already have all the emotes except for the exotic heart one. Edit: guess I should say BOTH of the emotes. Not counting the nightfall reward.
-
The only reason it's this way is because of the community, just imagine if nobody really said anything, I bet you £100 that Bungie would still be pulling their shady tactics.
-
No thanks. They couldn’t follow through with removing the NF time mechanic. Completing it in under 15min before score bleed is a time mechanic. The idiots “PVP Only” crowd is apparently still in charge at Bungie HQ. They believe PVE should also be competitive and we should be competing against one another. They acknowledge we did not want to be forced to hurry and speed run but then made challenges and “scores” tied to a time mechanic. They are so fking stupid. I want to come back but nothing these PVP jacka$$es put into the game will ever be worth having. The required Raid load outs lmfao. They can’t allow players to just play the game the way they want. No thanks, I’m getting into MHW and having a great time playing a game with less potential but exactly the way I want to play it.
-
4 RepliesThe problem is the engrams are still obtained through Tess which is insulting. Players do not play for cosmetic stuff. They play for loot that affects game play or diversifies the playing experience. Destiny is a loot based power progression shooter. PVP is hosed because to few playing so the lobbies are a frigging lag fest because people from all over the world are in the same lobby.

Agreed.

Here’s how I see it; either a player has decided to ride it out or they haven’t. If they have, input is valuable. If Bungie does something wrong, tell them, and be specific. If they do something right, tell them, and be specific. I believe in positive reenforcement - always try to catch people doing something right and let them know you recognize the effort. If you can’t do that, you can’t be objective, and your input is devalued. I agree Bungie did some things right here and should be commended for listening. That’s not to say some things couldn’t be better - it is after all a cosmetic-heavy event - but at least they didn’t build the whole event around MTX. I might support buying from Eververse if it stayed on that level. So even if doubles isn’t my thing, someone can enjoy it. It’s a free event, so it costs me nothing to play or not play. If people want to pound on the topic of all that Bungie has done wrong even when they do something right, it’s misguided and it doesn’t help.
