    • The reasons are different for each player. And some lists are longer than others.

    • That’s the age old question for so many things in this world. And it’s perfect for D2. WTH happened? Because it says so much. It’s like the game must have completely slipped through so many quality control check points to get to where it was after season 2 started. Fortunately, it’s on the mend. Slowly healing itself, one day at a time, minute by minute. Eventually it’ll be back to where it should be and Bungie will pat themselves on the back and hand out bonuses. The question is whether it’ll be too late and will the players return?

What happened is they went from wanting people to play daily to not wanting people to play daily, and what is the best way to stop people from playing daily? Remove all the reasons to do so and create a lackluster game.

    • D2 is good, could be great. I'm going to see what the coming changes and expansion are like before ditching for good. D1 wasn't great until TTK onwards imo.

    • The people who were behind Destiny 1 either stepped down or were forced out and the new vision wasn't in line with what we expected. The same people behind D2 are still there, so expect to see more of this and less of D1 in the future.

      • PvP crybabies happened. The main reason why everything about D2 sucks, is PvP.

Never have I been that addicted to a videogame. I’m usually a casual gamer, but I played destiny 1 for hours almost everyday. RIP D1

        • Sho me the moneh happened This is why WoW never had a sequel, and warframe. Dumbed the game down to cater to casual players, leeched out the rewards and stuck them behind eververse, replaced the leeched rewards with tokens. Core game is boring, rewards mean nothing as all the gear is the same reskinned crap. Skill trees again dumbed down. Whatever "it" D1 had to get me to play 1600 hrs, its safe to say that D2 certainly does not have "it"

        • They got lucky with a new IP and some features we all loved BY CHANCE. Then they actually thought about their product and straight up ruined it.

          • Destiny 1 was amazing. I lost myself in that game. The scope. The Grind. I cannot even begin to wrap my mind around how badly they fumbled the football here. I hate to say this, but bag this and just develop content for D1. If Bungie was listening at all, they would simply create content for us for D1. Sell it Bungie! I’ll buy it every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I miss what I had. Bring it back.

Basically, they abandoned good weapons, weapon rolls, and gave away all the loot in a week so there was nothing to do. They listened to the casuals - the 'give me everything right now generation' -the ones without the basic skills to hold down jobs, and now the hardcore backbone of real players (that attract the casuals) are pissed as, myself included. If I see another morbidly obese Bungie employee I am going to lose my frikkin mind.

            • Well apparently, Youtubers and Twitch streamers broke into Bungie and made everything 4V4, then youtubers and twitch streamers combined to conspire to make D2 seem rubbish by making videos saying its shit...which spread a false narrative, so Bungie had to take down the player population numbers. Defo had nothing to do with it being made in 16 months and being shit though...90% of the fanbase were tricked into leaving! Thats why Bungies had to ban 50% of the players from the forum, and moved any topics critical of them to OffTopic, so they cant trend. At least theyve got it all under control now...

            • Bungie released the game they envisioned. It is a good game but lacks what became expected: rewarding grind. It was focused on PvP, no surprise since they began that ‘focus’ during Destiny. The surprise was the complete abandonment of the Dedicated and the Solo player-base in favor of the Casual. Casuals are more prevalent. You sell more copies. But, they also by definition have little loyalty. They see any inferior product and bail. They don’t return when you fix it, they are gone. That is where we are now. Bungie, in the past month, with proper leadership, has begun to change. It is a positive change and a great move forward. But, I do not hold any hope it will stop the demise of the game. “An educated consumer is our best customer”, a phrase coined decades ago, is at play here. Problem is, we were too educated and saw right through the cash grabs. Unlikely to stick around for a better disguised product release... ...Should be less unclear to you now, I hope...

            • Make a list of the things they kept from D1, what the removed that people liked, and what they reduced. Then make a list of what they added. The result is embarassing...or at least should be

            • The great autorifle nerf of 2013, and all the subsequent bladedancer nerfs that everyone seemed to have forgot about when complaining about their supers in the following years.

              • Destiny had it's own issues, starting with same failed balance approach by not separting PVP & PVE, which led to a multitude of unecessary, senseless nerfs that only ended up ruining the game. Destiny 2 was destined to be a failure out of the gate with the same failed balance approach. Only this time, and this the WTF happened part, it's a case of over-simplification, combined with lazy programming, resulting in a failed attempt to attract more casual players. So, here we are now, with the same failed balance approach, and have already experienced a multitude of unecessary, senseless nerfs that just keep degrading an already horrendous sequel.

              • Destiny 1 ended and a sequel was released. The only thing that "happened" was that players took their expectations from one game and superimposed them on a different game. Here's how games work in the modern era: A game is released, usually 3 months early with a ton of bugs. Update 1 is nothing more than bug fixes. Update 2 adds features, sometimes additional content. Update 3 adds more content. Update 4 adds features, bug fixes, and sometimes additional content. Et cetera ad infinitum. Every time a sequel is released, people are upset that the sequel doesn't live up to the hype created by the finished version of the prequel, forgetting the process the prequel took to reach its finished state. By the time the sequel reaches its end, everyone loves it even more than the original game and expects the next sequel to be superior in every way, then get disappointed that it's lacking features the first sequel had by the end of its finished version. I've been gaming since the late '80s, back when we bought games on cartridges and you got what you got - no updates, no expansions, no complaining about content. Buy a game, play a game, like it or don't, move on. IMO, if you bought D2 and you didn't like it, buy something else and play that instead. It's really that simple. Bungie owe you nothing aside from the game you purchased, and if you bought something you don't enjoy, that's on you, not them.
