So Bungie is gonna be introducing a quitting penalty. Do you know why so many are quitting? It’s because the match making is just plain terrible. A player in the solo queue is getting matched up against 3 or 4 person fire teams. They aren’t gonna stand a chance in this team shooting stuff. I can’t handle it anymore. What a terrible, TERRIBLE idea that we get penalized when we are gonna be stuck with this sandbox and meta for 7 long months (assuming that change actually comes in March). I have tried and tried with D2. But this is terrible.

103 RepliesThis might have something to do with it. Oh, don't worry. Bungie would never lie about this and say they didn't use this cheap tactic in Destiny. https://www.pcgamesn.com/activision-microtransaction-matchmaking-patent

28 RepliesEdited by makki26: 2/5/2018 3:17:55 PMI'll still leave matches...😆. If bungie actually believes that players are worried about quitting penalties they're mistaken. The only thing this will do is minimize the pvp pool of players and give penalized players more motivation to log out and put a different game in. At the moment the motivation to quit the game in general is already there, the penalties will just boost that situation. So the question is, can players Honestly believe this will prevent quitting? Instead of quitting matches, do you think players will simply disconnect instead? Will the penalties go as far as even affecting lost connections? If it does, how do you think this will affect players who loose connection from no fault from their own especially in trials? Do you think that players won't simply find s different way to avoid the "quitting penalties"? Or maybe instead of quitting they'll simply go hide in the map until the end or simply afk until the game boots? There's probably more ways but those are quick ideas.... Destinys pvp is absolute trash. Nobody cares about this game anymore. So I actually hope they do implement the penalties. It will give me a good laugh......

You can't choose a solo only playlist You can't choose your game mode But you'll get banned for quitting?
😂😂😂
9 RepliesDon't forget that plethora of zoo errors you'll be penalized for now too

Edited by Hulk_Krogan: 2/6/2018 4:51:32 PMMy absolute favorite is when there are two teams of 2 that get paired together against 4 randoms... This sh! t has happened to me so many times it's laughable.

2 RepliesIf those FOOLS at Bungie actually implement this it will KILL crucible. NO ONE will play and the numbers will continue to dwindle. The penalty will only ensure people quit playing. I think many of us are willing to deal with the bullshit lag and stacked teams because you can always leave. If that goes away, SO WILL THE PLAYER BASE!! All of those wanna be hard asses that complain about people quitting will end up playing each other as that is all that will remain in crucible. I'm not the best in crucible, however I refuse to stay in a match where people are skipping across the screen or won't take damage. People can get as mad at me as they want, I don't care. I'm not going to waste time getting my ass handed to me due to Bungie's crap matchmaking, laggy P2P, and cheaters.... Mark my words.... The penalty will KILL crucible. Given the leadership at Bungie is a bunch of FOOLS they will probably do this as they won't have to fix the sandbox as no one will be using it.

Quitting wouldn't be so prevalent if they separated they playlists back out so we can play what we want to play. It sucks getting a game mode you hate over and over, in pretty much every other game you can choose your game type. Not sure why they bundled all the modes together, but they should be seperated

Edited by Soul_Eater_42: 2/8/2018 4:59:35 AMAt this point, I don't even care. If I can't quit a hopelessly one-sided match, then I'll simply run around the map, either doing nothing, or charging at the enemy with an ammo-less sword for laughs.
-
As long as they can distinguish between genuine quitters and players that were booted out by errors I'm okay with it. Quitters causes problems not just for the team they were with, but also for other players that are then slotted into fill in their spot. They negatively impact the game experience of others and I reckon they should be punished for it.

27 RepliesThe error, in this instance, is yours.... and they are penalizing you for being a quitter. I am NOT excusing the problems and eff-ups that Bungie (more precisely, people in Bungie's Management) have made. They own those problems... but if you're playing a match and you puss out because you're getting schooled instead of fighting on, that is on you. Don't blame Bungie for your flakey-ness. Just sayin - try fighting on more, and whinging less.
-
My only gripe is that I hope they are able to distinguish bewteen actual leaving and being error coded out.
-
Most games have a quitting penalty. Overwatch, LoL, csgo, all of them have quitter penalties. Either stick it out until the end or just don't play.
-
Is the penalty for quick play too? Or just competitive?
-
8 RepliesDidn’t the community want this? I seem to remember numerous posts about having a penalty for people who leave early. “Oh but matchmaking/solo queue sucks” this is nothing new and they still wanted its. So. Suck it up, find a team in a TEAM BASED GAME or get the hell out.
-
1 ReplyJust can't agree. Quitter's should be penalized. Not to mention your position is just wrong headed. Every match is unique. If the outcome of one match was any type of predictor... Why would anyone even return to the crucible? We've all been stomped before. To enter the crucible you have to have a short memory or you won't be long for it. It's too late for you though, once a quitter- -always a quitter. There is no turning back! You just made Shaxx throw up in his helmet Guardian.
-
That's because some people asked for it around september~ oktober, I also don't know what they where thinking...
-
Don't worry, they'll make a change, F it up, and change it back again when the player numbers continue to drop.
-
1 ReplyPenalties for players quitting is straight up BS!!!! The only time I quit is when the other team is lagging or cheating, I'm NOT going to play in a match like that!!! Reporting is a joke, and it does NOTHING at the time of the match, it doesn't remove the loss or properly award the loot, so what's my incentive to stay in a match and let some cheating scrub win!!! I have NO problem losing a fair match, but nothing pisses me off more that cheating at video games.
-
With the player base diminishing in PvP, if Bungie starts to restrict players for quitting, who’s gonna be left to play? I hope they fix their PvP blunders sooner than later.
-
A bunch of randoms and I beat 3 'sweaty', 4-stacks yesterday during Iron Banner. Felt great! Lost a bunch as well but to beat a 4 member clan (presumably mic'ed)... nothing like it.
-
Edited by NobleOne: 2/7/2018 12:53:12 AMi agree with this but i also agree with others as some dont even quit because its a premade, but just because they are losing. i saw this being added soon but for a fix in premades fighting only premades you wont see that happen. but what will happen (which normally does) is some/most people will stop playing pvp and the numbers will drop and usually you get a new trend of threads of "i keep seeing the same teams in pvp!" and thats when it will get a slight change again.
-
It’s not often I get to play with friends. Solo queue mainly and rarely matches me with 3-4 person clan mates. It does happen though but no where near as much as it could
-
Edited by SeaWolv: 2/7/2018 12:55:01 PMAs long as they provide us with the opportunity to back out before the match is locked I have no problem with this. Right now I can see the match up develop in the Roster screen and if I see a 4 man fire team pop in I can hit B twice and back out of the match. Unfortunately sometimes it does an instant lock and there's nothing you can do. If they eliminate the insta-lock I have no issues with a penalty.
-
So.. you probably moan when someone rage quits on your team and hope they get penalized for it but you then moan at Bungie for adding it? does anything make you happy? are you this -blam!-
-
Looks like the only way around this new problem is to just sit and do nothing or dance or just run into their faces and melee (my personal favourite). Let the other team win quickly and end the pain as quick as possible.

Yep, watch the population drop even further, it's going to be hilarious.
