...there should never have been a sequel!

30 RepliesMy whole clan talked about this. If D2 was a $60 expansion to D1 maintaining the D1 systems (random rolls, D1 loadout) and just adding the D2 content to the D1 foundation, it would be the best game in history. I would actually throw money at the screen. Instead we got this abortion.
-
Just go back to d1 remove sprint cooldown and add the mantle mechanic. Also do a new sandbox patch fixing ability spam and bum best pvp

This is quite sad to see that there are so many upvotes... Bungie... I have 3 words for you “Fix Your Game”

12 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 1/19/2018 11:59:13 PMYou do realise that there were 100's upon 1000's of complaints (mainly from PvP players crying about an over powered gun) & about Destiny from Beta/vanilla through four expansions (TDB/HoW/TTK/ROI) and into Activision's torn/ripped/muddled and patchworked final version of the shadow of what should have been a darker grittier 15/18 rated FPS/MMO (the concept envisaged by the sacked Destiny creator Joe Staten, the real brains behind the E3 2012 concept) Now You're actually encouraging Bungie to scrap D2 (weak story/gameplay/simple loot system) And RESELL that botched Destiny (1) as a new game, polished up and labelled D3 (even though D1 loot system and weapon rolls were far better than D2, they still weren't perfect - PvP nerfs and whine bags ruined the Destiny 1 PvE experience) That's actively encouraging Bunglevision to take the customers for fools yet again a £60/$80 sale of a game which will simply be the one they botched up from 2014 - asking them to sell a product that we (in general) customers weren't too happy about across the spectrum Just because we think the grass is greener Don't get me wrong, I play D2 because I've paid out for it and have a good size PSN/Clan to run with (and I far prefer the D2 4v4 PvP setup) But until huge PvE changes happen for the positive and bring back the replayability - then there will be no more expenditures If BungleVision get their own way, they will repackage D1 with new graphics, a hybrid loot system and the promise of ' listening' all ending up with D3 being money for old rope The best way to get Bungie to listen - DO NOT pay for any expansions, never buy a single thing that costs Silver And leave en masse and go back to Destiny 1 (just play the game you've already paid £100/$130 for) Or pull the plug and go buy Anthem/RDR2 or other alternatives
-
They need to just take the next 6 months and rework D1 into D2, just give us back, say, 75% of what we had in D1. Will this happen? God no it won't but I know that I for one would be excited and heck I would even pay another $100 for it :)

Edited by CatMan: 1/21/2018 10:55:39 AMYou mean balance hell? No thanks. Not that D2 is any better in that department.
-
The Red War campaign could have just been a game state expansion, and all previous Story missions and strikes could have been available through meditations from Ikora. This is so there are minimal plot holes, and the Reef still being accessible could have been fixed by making one or two story missions where you go to Petra for help, but she declines saying that the Reefs forces were already in shambles from the Taken War, but will still keep the reef open as refuge. New planets, weapon types, subclass abilities (The actual "new" subclasses themselves can go to hell) and lost sectors being patched into older maps as well would be the new changes and everything would have been perfect.

All cry babies who whinged in D1 got what they asked for in D2. Yet they’re all whinging again in D2. Pathetic!

1 ReplyA large expansion in D1 style would have been awesome....where I could KEEP my gear and continue the adventure! My gear is gone because they blew up the tower?!D2 is an excuse for a game because it started as an excuse to wipe our gear so a cash grab could begin......in my opinion👎
-
4 RepliesJust imagine if this had been DLC instead for $40 that added: 1 whole new region to earth 3 new explorable locations SMG's and Grenade launchers 5-6 new strikes Tons of new missions and side missions A few new exotic quests New Exotics in general Updated versions of old exotics (Hardlight with all elements in D1 would be so good) Dawnblade, Arcstrider, and Sentinel super added to the existing subclasses Dodges, Rifts, and Barricades added to existing sub-classes NPC's in all locations It would have felt like a true expansion and would have set a precedent in Destiny's history if it had been....
-
Might've been better. D1 sucked in the end anyways so who knows.
-
I definitely would've. D2 is nothing more than an expansion without a vanilla title to back up... oh and it has ledge grabbing. D2 isn't a sequel. No way, no how. It should've just been another expansion to D1, that way we, as players, would have content, but Bungo could have an excuse as to why they didn't spend time developing D2 before its launch, rather than after. Again, its an expansion, not a sequel, and should've simply been $30 DLC for D1 Y4 - The Red War.
-
4 RepliesSo, let me get this straight... You guys wanted them to taint D1 with all these things that you DON'T like or want? Even if the campaign was a DLC for D1, they would have done a TTK style overhaul of the game. They wanted those systems changed, so they were going to change one way or another. Wouldn't you rather see them make mistakes and try new things in a sequel and leave the original, original? Imagine for a second if they brought the new weapon loadout to D1. How infuriated would you lot be? Imagine all the youtubers who couldn't cry and go BACK to D1 because they don't feel special anymore in PvP.
-
1 ReplyWouldn't have made any difference to me. Destiny 2 was an early Christmas gift from my eldest daughter and her husband, I don't own the first game and when I did it was years ago before the DLC came out. If Destiny 2 wouldn't have been released I wouldn't have it just like I wouldn't have Destiny year 4.
-
6 RepliesIf D1 raised the Light Level to 450 and brought back the Iron Banner... I'd snap my D2 disc in half.
-
d1 Y4 is a better game than the shit fest known as d2
-
4 RepliesEveryone reinstalling D1😂😂😂 I did it as well.
-
2 RepliesIts cool, but D2 year 4's gonna be 10x better bebe'.
-
My biggest problem is that features that we enjoyed in D1 are being slowly introduced into D2. While D2 has more long term potential it's not even close to what Y3 D1 was. I really don't like the fact we are going to be waiting for a year to get to a decent place for this game.
-
5 RepliesYou do realize that at the end of year three they were basically doing the same thing they are doing now? THEY GAVE US ICEBREAKER BACK WHICH WAS ALREADY INVENTED 2 YEARS AGO! Just focus on improving the game they have now.

Destiny 1 was shit, but Id prefer a small turd over this giant turd

On the plus side if you wait long enough you’ll be top of every Bungie leaderboard by virtue of being the last person left.
