I just have a quick question for the developers. Why is the PS4 HDR implementation so awkwardly done? Xbox One HDR works without issue and no weird need to refresh the screen. On PS4 there is this jarring transition at the log in screen and when you log out there is an alert that the screen resolution changed. It creating weird issues with the PS4, so I decided to turn off HDR. It’s a shame because HDR looks great on the Xbox One version. Thanks.

1 ReplySame here, I have a Samsung tv and I am receiving the same problem. The brightness is very dim and when hdr is on in game my screen flashes with this odd rainbow color.

5 RepliesI don't have this issue on my setup. One thing you could possible research is this: There's this thing called the UHD Alliance, which sets 'industry standards' for UHD/4K/HDR. Not every manufacturer belongs to this alliance (Phillips, I'm looking at you!). If they don't belong to the alliance, and your TV isn't manufactured to those standards, it could affect the way your PS4 handles things. For instance, I have two 4K UHD TVs with HDR. One is a Phillips, one is an LG. My PS4 doesn't even recognize that the Phillips TV is 4K capable, but has no problem whatsoever with the LG set. So what I'm suggesting is that this may be a hardware compatibility issue, not a software/game issue. Just curious if you've run any other 4K/HDR titles on your PS4?
