I Have played this on and off over the years and the way the community has become is laughable. People complain about cash shops yet, if you do the activities in game you can get the bright engrams to get them. *Is that not the point of the game even if you do need a little help from Rngesus*
People complain when you have to pay for DLC content which to me is no different then paying for an expansion *WoW* Comes to mind. Swtor you pay a sub fee if you want to unlock certain aspects of the game. They may not be as big but your also not paying 60 dollars.
I have recently switched to the PC and while it is not the best game in the world I do have fun doing strikes with my friends, grinding out patrols and events.

I’ve been enjoying the game more and more since we have been getting some new content, I just wish more people would stay positive and have some patience. I understand the game has issues and it has problems, but then again what game doesn’t have its own issues and problems. People wanted more communication from bungie and every time I read reddit I see deej or the guy taking over for cosmo responding to feedback on whatever the latest crisis is in the game yet they go and complain about the next thing. With the new year im hoping people turn off the negativity and just play the game and for whatever reason the game doesn’t satisfy them then just stop and do something else period.

1 ReplyI embrace my Destiny.
-
I like it that‘s why I play it.

1 ReplyThe difference between WoW charging for an expansion and Destiny doing it is in WoW they add tons more content each expansion to keep people busy for months without blocking people behind a pay wall, me and a friend finished the latest Destiny content in an evening. This game is stale and it hilarious to see people bashing it all over the forums next step is for them all to stop playing.

I like D2.
I have and enjoy D1 as well. Haven't beaten it's story yet (I got it 2 weeks before D2, so delete that burn comment you're typing...). I have plans to finish it soon, in addition to Taken King/Rise of Iron, though. Gonna have to take a break from D2 to do that though... ...so sad...
2 RepliesThe problem is that there is a cash shop that has all the cool shit so the only way to get it is by gambling with these loot boxes for a chance to get what you want. Bungo has added more content to tess then they have to the whole entire game. There is nothing else to do in this game other then grind out bright engrams. Tess is the endgame.

Every now and then I'll scroll through the forms just to see what people complain about. I happened to see this post and I wanted to say yes, people still play this game. I've been a player since D1 Beta, I have 3 clans all part of a Destiny community and we all play this game almost daily. I do have some cry babies in the community and we've lost a good number due to D2 issues but myself and my veteran players still put in a daily grind with no complaints. We love this game, not as much as we love D1 but we all feel that D2 will eventually get there. If we all give up over this nonsense that's on the forms, then we'll never get to see that happen. I'll continue to play, everyday, until Bungie shuts down the servers and I literally can't any more.

4 RepliesHundred of thousands of people are still enjoying this game don't let the haters fool you.
-
2 RepliesMost of us do. A large portion are snowflakes who get upset and offended over the dumbest crap and voice their "concerns" as much and as loudly as possible. They like the game or else they would not stick around.

I do.

Edited by Seth, Knower of Things: 12/21/2017 9:12:40 PMDon’t get me wrong. I love this game otherwise I wouldn’t have over 500 hours in it already. I do my milestones weekly, even though I’m max light, because it’s fun to play this game. But this eververse shit has gone too far. You can’t tell me the game is now “collection based” then proceed to release a collection of loot that most players won’t be able to get without spending money. Easy fix for this is to just make the daily drop bright engrams. I don’t see the problem with that and I don’t think anyone could find one.

You arent' the only one enjoying the game. The problem is that Bungie took the loot-based RPG that was Destiny 1....BLEW IT UP...and handed us back an e-sport-ready campaign shooter that just goes through the motions of being a loot-based game in Destiny 2. I'm enjoying the game because it was the immersive combat and the feel-good nation of the shooting mechanics that hooked me on the game. I STILL enjoy that. But I can also see where Bungie royally -blam!-ed up in letting Jon Weisznewski and the boys have the run of the place. They have essentially destroyed the RPG nature of Destiny, in an effort to create an e-sport in the Crucible...and the sad part is that the PVP experience that they've created is even worse than what they've done to the RPG on the PVE side of the game. A million people still show up every day to play PVE. But in PVP, we're seeing player numbers that are less that want Destiny 1 was generating on its own at the end of Year 3....and we now have a whole other platform in the mix. This game needs to let go of the legacy of Halo, and trying to recreate Halo's glory days....or else it wll never reach its full potential as a PVE experience.... ..and what the stats keep showing is that this is a PVE-game at its core.

1 ReplySo you ignore how you paid for DLC, but most of it’s content is hidden behind loot boxes, and how they raise the amount of XP needed to get that single engram you love so much. And how the DLC costs 1/3 the full game, but has less than 1/3 of the content. But sure keep enjoying it and making Bungie happy that they can still fool some players into thinking the game has content.

I love the game. Play it every day.

I like it. But I understand fully the massive flaws in the framework of it. You can like something and have fun playing it while understanding the problems that exist with it. I love the raid/lair, I enjoy playin' with my friends. The basic game play is still super strong. But I don't think anyone would disagree that the folks running the show rushed this product, are SUPER reactive to things instead of proactive, and have had a PR nightmare since launch with the level of transparency to their player base. Even the most ardent fans of Bungie can't overlook those things. And if they do, they're doing it purposefully to ignore the problems. But yes, I still like D2. I just like a ton of things MORE than D2. :)

I like it.

It's a solid 6. By a solid six I mean a game I can play for about an hour and then I'll go off and play better games but yeah

I'm sure you could do a search on YouTube and find a plethora of videos explaining what the complaint is concerning the dlc or Tess vs engram via xp. The statements you made about Tess, bright engram through xp, and the dlc is reductive. That being written, I do still like playing Destiny. I may not like certain systems within this game, the gutted PvP in comparison to D1, or this type of micro transactions, but I still like the IP and the fps game play. I'd be fine with micro transactions if they did it like ESO, where I use real money to buy virtual currency, then directly buy the exact item I want. I don't care for this loot box, I don't know what I'll get BS. And to be honest, I may be wrong, but I have a feeling the majority of the players would be ok with the type of micro transactions where you buy directly what you want and remove the random loot box model.

Destiny 2 is ok nothing more nothing less. It's like having a 2014 car yeah that car had issues what car doesn't but it's mine and the good out weighed the bad. You took this car to the dealership and they had ECU updates and performed various repairs. You told your friends you got this new car and y'all went on trips together they ended up liking the car so they bought one too. Then another friend bought it and another etc. etc. So now the announcement of new and improved model is coming out you and your friends are hyped because we expect certain things from the car manufacturer; Things like a Engine, a transmission, steering wheel, brakes, tires, etc. All improvements made to the original should be in the new car and built upon. Well that's not what happened. We got what we liked watered down and new features that are done halfway with no reason to use them and when there's a problem instead of it being fixed for free like it was previously we are charged for our old stuff back...

for me the game is about a 7, plus or minus half a point. It's not amazing, it's not bad. But overall I do enjoy it turning it on once or twice a week. I wouldn't be playing it or on this site if I wasn't enjoying it.
-
Tuesday is fun, whenever I can get some clan mates together for a raid is fun too. Shooting aliens is fun. Bright engrams being the best source of loot in the game is not fun.
-
Doing milestones is fun Building Weapons is fun The Gift Giver consumable is fun.
-
I do like it just wish the grind was back, I get online and don’t know what to do
-
I still do enjoy the game in samples. It's impossible for this to he my main game like D1 was for so long. But to sit there and act like a lot of the complaints on here arnt legit is also us it false. Sure they way the message is sent is typically that OF a 1t year old teenager. But this game has major issues that really shouldn't exist considering the time they had to experiment with D1
