Edit: We tested 3 more 3oC with Fireteam Medallions active. No exotics dropped at all out of way more than 150 chests (we stopped counting). We then tested just Fireteam medallions and we all got exotics within 30 minutes of PEs. It appears that the 3oC also kills exotic chances when paired with Fireteam Medallions. Just a heads up.

Still RNG. I've had a ToC running through Flashpoint, heroics, call to arms, etc, zippo. It can turn right around though.

Sounds like 3oc’s are put in place to do the opposite of what they are intended to do. Which I feel bungie made it that way

Same here, I ran a bunch of heroic strikes last night using two 3oC's w/FT medallion and it netted me 1 exotic, the same if I wouldn't have used either. Not like it matters anyway, I'm 3 pieces shy of completing my exotic collection, not to mention that the overwhelming majority of exotics are trash anyway. Hopefully Bungie makes exotics actually "exotic" in 2018.

Saw Xür was selling 3oC. Yawned and didn’t bother to even stop by to say hi. Then I got back-to-back Vesper of Radius doing a Verse. Smart Loot? Nah, he took a vacation with Damage Referee 2-3 years ago and they were never seen again... Why do you even need or care about 3oC? It already rains engrams anytime I get the feels to do any activity in this game.

Taking that in D1 I've used as many as 15 with no drop and got 3 out of 5 coins, it's pretty random. Can't imagine how shitty it is now.

I used one 3oC and did about 10 heroic strikes and 3 mercury public events. I got 2 exotics over the course of 3 hours. No Fireteam Medallion in use. In contrast to that, 3 hours of playing without any buffs would have only gotten me 0-1 exotic on average.

I bought one 3oC yesterday. After reading these reports I will not even waste my time with 3oC. I am going to wait until the end of the day, activate 3oC, and then logoff.

As with everything that’s random to begin with, sometimes RNGesus blesses you, sometimes RNGesus bends you over and goes in dry. An increased chance is still not a guarantee!

I've used 3oC and Fireteam medallion for 4 hours yesterday and received one Exotic engram along with a few legendary engrams. Did the same today without 3oC and Fireteam Medallion, same outcome. I don't believe either 3oC or Fireteam Medallion have that significant of an impact on the drop rates. It could be a 0.01% increase for all we know.

17 RepliesSo they (Bungie)said they would give us more to spend our shards on... they gave us masterworks, boons and 3oC. Masterworks- from my experience, close to 100 engrams opened and have received 1... wow, thanks. Boons- i refuse to buy. Personally i can go buy a shader for less than what it costs for the boon. Not too mention the said shader in which i have 31 of. 3oC- ran 4hrs and nothing. Not to mention xurs fated ingram. Wow 97 shards for a 305 drop. Bought it and received....... a duplicate item i was using. And to see bungie announce they decreased the chance for exotics in publics yet raised them in other events. Haven’t had an exotic drop since the new patch. This is very disheartening when you basically have to rely on exotics to level up. They gave us a way to spend them alright. I would’ve felt better throwing-them on the ground and watch sweeper bot sweep them up and trash them. What a disappointment.
