Removing content with the DLC
I can no longer play the prestige nightfall or raid unless I buy the DLC, good job black mailing people into buying the DLC. I was considering buying the DLC but as you have removed content that I have paid for from the standard game I won't be buying it neither will my friends who play with me. The DLC should not change the base game I paid for. The only thing that kept me playing was the prestige nightfall and raid now that has been removed I’m going to quit playing Destiny 2 some of my friends I play with are going to quit also.

24 RepliesBungie has always taken the position that the Nightfall, Trials, and Iron Banner are not content....but are cyclical EVENTS that they put on in order to add value to the game for players. Their position is that these are not FIXED parts of the game. But are events that require continual maintenance and creative input from the developers.

6 RepliesThis has been a thing since TDB. Nightfall’s and Raids are “end game” content. If you’re a “Day 1” D1 player you have no grounds for crying. If your new to Destiny and only started at D2, sorry that’s just how things have always been.

One of the common complaints in D1 was leaving behind the Y1 raids as the level increased with each expansion. "Bring back VoG" was a daily forum post. Bringing prestige events up to current level and keeping normal mode accessible to all kinda feels like the right thing to do. I was playing a few weeks before I bought TDB so I know what it's like to have icons that you can't access, including Crota. I didn't buy the season pass for that reason though, I bought it because HoW looked like it was going to be good, so genuine interest rather than coercion. Maybe that feeling is what's missing in a lot of players after the issues in the game.

This move by Bungie can be both utterly predictable and a shitty move, and I say that as somebody who bought the season pass expecting this to happen. The PC version came out a little over a month ago, and it's already been curtailed for people who *only* went in for $60. I understand how this is the right move for people on the expansion, keeping the nightfall and raid relevant end-game content, but for people left behind the content should still be there. Updated game should mean updated challenges, base game should keep base challenges.

Well if the Nightfall uses the DLC strike then I can see that one. However locking people out of Prestige raid seems odd unless you can't get past base level 20 without DLC for you can't pass power level 305 without passing base level 20.

I got the DLC, and am moderately enjoying it so far. However, I agree. Removing Season 1 content, from those whom did not purchase the Season 2 DLC; is a bottom of the lake, level of scuminess.

1 Replyjoined this forum just to say that this is the worst thing i've ever seen was going to get some friends to play with me, do the intro raid, strikes, etc. but now they're going to have to pay extra just to do that. i can't justify dragging people in. instead i'll not be playing i like the game and can forgive many of its flaws and cash grabs. i can't ignore this one- i'll be playing different games

We knew this was going to happen -before the game launched-. i kind of hate to say this, but with the track record of D1, and all the experiences of buyers out there that went through it, you knew this was coming. In a way, if you didn't plan on buying all the DLCs and expansions, you really shouldn't have bought the base game, because you were going to lose content piece by piece as the game advanced. It's a dirty tactic, but you knew it was coming. Please don't insult anyone's intelligence by acting surprised after a 3 year study of D1 showed us the future.

2 RepliesHow did you not know this would happen, you are either new or plain old stupid. They did the exact same thing with Destiny 1, in fact you couldn’t even play Iron Banner or pretty much do anything in Destiny 1 without having each DLC, as every single one would update the drops so they could force you into buying it. This is no exception as I was getting CoO drops from old engrams and content that shouldn’t even have those. Just wait for their same old excuse as they did when TTK came out and effectively locked 3/4 of Destiny 1 away (including strikes and the PoE) from players who didn’t buy it. Even WoW that’s ran by the same parent company isn’t as shady with their vanilla and DLC content.
