This post is about bungie’s stupid “nerfing” system. I noticed it even more than ever the other night. I was event hopping on earth, timing them perfect to always be right in the middle of one or right before it starts. But the nerfing system punished me for it.
So after maybe the 3rd event, I notice my xp bar is moving less and less for every completion. At one point the 8-9k xp for the event barely moved the bar enough to be noticed. (Even though the 3x xp is still active)
So I go and do a normal public event on accident, and it moves the bar exponentially for only 3,000 xp. Why? I did something other than a heroic event 5 times in a row so the game rewards me?
I did more research into it and it always does this when you get too repetitive with your activities. Bungie designed it for you to have to do different activities all of the time to receive full “xp” all the time.
The same thing goes with the loot system. If you get too repetitive with your activities, you get punished. Only a token and a blue after a handful of times. But as soon as you switch up activities, bam...legendary engram, exotic engram.

The trick is.. run a public event. Go to PVP and ditch the match early, then run another public event.

8 RepliesThey want you buying bright engrams, not earning them.

I bought 4 cayde Treasure maps. I know that you're supposed to spread them out between public events and all that so I did. The first two chests gave me absolutely nothing, not even glimmer. 9600 glimmer down the toilet. Im playing D1 now, farming for materials on the moon, just for the hell of it lol.

Not being rewarded is not the same thing as being punished.
Kids. 🙄
7 RepliesEdited by FigNewton617: 11/11/2017 10:58:08 PMAdvice ..accept the game As is, set lower expectations. Higher light means nothing, so try play to enjoy the sceneries and make some friends ..be a casual player, learn to let it go. I'm just 270 light on three characters. I didn't really play at the beginning until I learned I had to complete the story to play iron banner so i grinded. But we know IB wasn't worth the grind. Just accept the reality for what it is

3 RepliesCan't have you getting too many of those bright engrams. The more you get, the less likely you are to break down and buy them.
-
6 RepliesI'm surprised they haven't put jumping on a cooldown timer.
-
1 ReplyThey also don't let you grab planetary materials as often as you find them...kind of lame when the challenge of collecting 10 and you have to find 20 lol

2 RepliesBungie is the real darkness.

1 ReplyBecome a subservient, sorry legend.

They made D2 for themselves, they forgot that they should have made it for the players (sorry not a PS4 only reference). The larger the player-base the more variation in experience they need to support. The world would be very boring if we all looked like Luke Smith!

138 RepliesThat's called an "exploit." And they're punishing you because they don't want you breaking the game's economy.

Whoever the team leader is for that department clearly doesn't like the idea of farming. It's interesting to note that countless games have farming as a thing but no these people have to go against the status quo. Sometimes that's good but in this case? I'm just laughing and shaking my head at the same time. When people point out what's wrong with something in game (before the bashing starts I might add) the devs come back and say that people are just odd (loot cave for example). Either the leadership is pushing these decisions down or the devs are completely out of touch with a lot of the gaming culture as a whole. They either screw up with farming like they did with D1's exotic sword materials or nerf farming as a whole in D2. How many years have they had to perfect this already? Way too many...

3 RepliesI don't think you fully understand why nerfs are necessary. I'll give you a hint: Balance.

Luke Smith doesn't want you to do that.

You can change the game, but you cannot change the rules.

I told the cops the same thing....

1 ReplyBecause Activision owns King (candy crush), and apparently mobile games are the new hot thing for shareholders, so they're trying to push that on this platform. They dump a ton of bright engrams on you to give you a taste. Like a crack dealer, first one's free. Then they slowly turn back the dial, so you won't notice. Then every once in a while, they turn the dial up (Clarion call...) to get you hooked again, when you start slipping and buying less.

Because Bungie doesn’t want people playing its game.

4 RepliesVeteran player here even though half the time that don't mean shit to forum trolls and scrubs. But I never really experinced this problem much and my characters are 300+. More specific my warlock and titan are 303 and my hunter is 304. All that work minus the weekly reset milestone for the shit PvP cruicble to obtain powerful gear. I have yet to do the raid in full and I have never even tried to do trials because I know the stream scrubs plus flawless trials scrubs with nothing better to do ruined it already. I'm not really punished for doing events and ect in a repedative fashion. I guess maybe this should be your wake up call and play the game at a normal pace. Stop and smell the roses.
