Improved my "Stuttering Frames" issue *Please read for advice*

I was having the mentioned "Hitches" since the game launched however when update 1.0.6.2 dropped it actually made the stutter issue worse. I've improved the stutter slightly by doing the following: 1) Installed latest Nvidia driver 388.13 (select clean install). 2) Switched windows into high performance mode (Power options in windows settings). 3) Using the Nvida control panel set Destiny 2 to "prefer maximum performance" (right click desktop, select control panel, open "manage 3D settings", select program settings, add destiny2.exe to list, once added scroll down to power management mode selecting "prefer maximum performance" then apply. 4) Delete CVARS.xml from \Users\USER_NAME\Appdata\Roaming\Bungie\DestinyPC\prefs\ (show hidden files) this step will clear your game settings and generate a new file upon launch. 5) Preformed windows update. Go to windows settings>update and security then select check for updates. It turns out I had the fall creators update plus a few other fixes not yet installed. I have a feeling windows update partially fixed my problems but i'd rather list everything i'd tried. Also be sure to activate the in game FPS counter and set graphics to low while testing as GPU could be the bottleneck. For AMD users i'd follow the steps I took replicating for your GPU software. I also have vsync enabled if that helps anyone. i7 3930K 3.8Ghz, 12GB DDR3 RAM, EVGA GTX 780 SC, Asus VG248 144hz, Win10 Home (1709) I've attached my info below to assist the tech team. BattleTag RaZerManic#21944 Configuration Info CPU: i7 3930K 3.8Ghz GPU: EVGA GTX 780 SC RAM: G.Skill 16GB(4GBx4) RipjawsZ DDR3 PC17000 2133mhz 1.65v Cas9 model: F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH (January 2014) GPU Driver Version: 388.31 Operating System: Windows 10 Home 1709 (OS Build: 16299.19) DxDiag: https://1drv.ms/t/s!Atltls1w-qrphQW3x6hn5x2Ayacm Issue Information Destination/Activity: In the open world areas. Strike/Story don't seem affected. Description: Constant Stuttering running at 60+FPS on any graphical settings. Partially Fixed however stutter problem remains on game side in certain open PvE areas. It's not always present and heading to orbit removes the stutter.

Update The original issue that plagued me has been resolved however there is still a stuttering issue in D2. It's not like the original stutter it comes and goes but I have noticed the following pattern: Red War Campaign While playing story missions it plays smooth as butter outside of open world areas. Zero stutter of frame lag. Vanguard/Nightfall Strikes Plays smooth just like campaign outside of open world areas. Social Spaces No stuttering very smooth but can suffer a little stutter during a big influx of players. Free roam On Planets some of the time framerate runs smooth however certain areas on planets can suffer from occasional stutter until you spawn elsewhere or return to orbit. From my experience playing the stutter appears in random areas usually always in free roam. Could this bug be connected to players spawning in open world as it's perfectly fine during story or strikes. Bungie please take note and look into this

  • Thanks for the information. For how long have you tested now that you have experienced no stuttering?
