500"000 players in PVP 800'000 in PVE. Will they even make Destiny 3
Are they worried yet? Changes taking far too long to implement, people just aren't playing, losing thousands daily.
It's not Destiny 1 with the promise of "everyone's working on D2", people now see through deejs smoke n mirrors, and though a few streams showing more reskinned gear and ideas stolen from movies and other games, will bring some players back, I highly doubt it'll have the affect they hope for.
Even twitch numbers are down, no one's watching, no one's playing, no one's talking. It's also no longer the biggest selling game of 2017.
Imagine for a second, Curse of Osiris doesn't go down too well, imagine it's more of the same, what then? How many will be playing in January? Even the diehards and fanbois are giving up.
The franchise as a whole, is in trouble now. Will there even be a Destiny 3? I think yes, however what if we're at 50k players this summer? Is D3 already being built? What if it's in the same vein as D2 n they have to have a rethink and change tact drastically in which direction they want to go with D3, meaning another rushed game.
Pessimistic, yes. Faith in Bungie, no. Hope for the future, I really don't know, and I never thought I'd say that.

Have you ever heard any talk of an Overwatch 2 or WoW 2? It was 10 years between sequels for starcraft and diablo companies that make console games don't want you to play their game for years. They want to buy the new version of the same game with a new number behind it ever year.... Truly great PC games have depth and are played for years on end with lasting communities. Everything is so disposable to these kids now days. They play the 3 days worth of content released with these games blow 60 more bucks on 2 or 3 DLCs that give you about 3 more days of content total then move on to the next and companies like bungie and EA laugh all the way to the bank while you guys bitch about how much the games sucks and they promise they will fix it in the next one that will cost $60...

57 RepliesPubg makes news with 1.3 million concurrent players with 7 million copies downloaded.. hailed as amazing... Bungie has the same number of concurrent players... it’s a failure. None of this matters... the psychological craziness of the salty people in destiny forums would do wonders for profiling studies. I truly hope a lot of these people realize their madness, step back, and let go. It is a mental health issue.

Phone manufacturer knows that their phones browsers won’t connect to internet after OS update 1.0, which is behind a paywall and only a month away now. Manufacturer knows that if customers want to keep using their phones all features after update, they all have to buy updates forever. See what I did there? If any phone manufacturer would dare this, media and customers would burn them alive in a pyre, but for some reason gaming industry customers swallow all this, and even ask for more no matter at what cost. For as long as people pay for dlc’s, small patches and day 1 addons, nothing will change. Customers, in general as a group, are -blam!-ing morons.

I still play Destiny nearly every day!!! Nearly on a Monday, nearly on a Tuesday........ Actually that's not true, I just log onto D1 as it's more fun. Mayhem Clash this week. I wonder what the numbers would be if they separated D1 & D2.

1 ReplyIf and when they do, I will make sure I don't pre-order this time. Will watch every video I can from testing and gameplay so I know for sure how the system is going to work. If it is anything like D2 again, I am not buying and this makes me sad. If bungie hasn't learned their lesson from this disaster and go back to something like year 3 Destiny 1 or a better system well, then they will just dig their own grave sadly. I can watch the campaign cutscenes on youtube.

That’s 840 million dollars in players. Not counting the 500 million that left. That is if every just paid 60 bucks. So yes they have grossed a billion off the sales. Minus labor, etc. I’m sure they are 500 million in the black.

These numbers are not strictly accurate. See, it counts those who are (or have went back to) playing D1. It would be more accurate to give numbers separately. You can add 4-5 players to D1 crucible and my friends and I have been playing in there rather than the boring D2.

1 ReplyThey will make destiny 3 because they're in a contract. However if this game continues going downhill, I believe Activi$ion have every right to cancel said contract. Not 100% on this though, I have no proof; it's just what I've heard.

I hope they dont do a D3 and carry this game like a WOW model. Expansion after Expansion. They could always phase out older guns with each major expansion (except exotics) which would allow older guns not to be able to be infused with newer major expansion ones.

Do you realize hundreds of thousands of people have already purchased the DLC? Do you realize there are several new games that just came out and people like variety? Listen well, I know MMO gaming companies that survive on under 10,000 players a day, it does not matter if one or one million play this game daily, they made their money. They are already working on Destiny 3. The live team is working on tuning up and fixing this pile of dump. You need some fresh air and a new take on gaming my friend. Stop following all these massive cry babies on this forum and use some common sense and think.
