• In my opinion one of the best if not the best in the series so far. Much better protagonist in Bayek, great voice acting, much better writing overall, decent combat, clunky at times but overall satisfying, and what can one say about the open world in this game, absolutely gorgeous. Mysterious and fun to explore sandbox, side quests that actually feel fun to play, a fun rpg system that feels rewarding as you level up, interesting characters as well as historical figures... I could go on. I would put it right there with 2, and better than Black Flag. I think if one is a fan of the series at all, they owe it to themselves to pick this thing up and give it a whirl.

  • Origins is amazing. Simply put its game of the year material. Beautiful visuals, great RPG like leveling system and the combat is just sick!!!!!

  • I have literally 100% every AC game up to Syndicate. But Syndicate was the tipping off point. That game was so horrid in it's character and downgrade in design from Unity I refuse to buy Origins.

    • I'm enjoying it so far. Not super far into the game but it's reminiscent of the old games. An old ancient world with some sweet combat. But unlike the old games combat is awesome and there is the open world aspect that I'm still waiting to judge. The game will succeed based on how well the morph their original formula with an open world.

    • Haven’t played AC since 2 and love Origins. You can tell the team was influenced a lot by the likes of Witcher 3

    • Hell yeah dude, this shit is a ride. The world is huge and beautiful, everything is seamlessly integrated into the game. The HUD is awesome, because it's almost nonexistent. No minimap, but it isn't needed at all. Best part is easily the protagonist's eagle. The new basis for eagle vision and scouting out enemy/ hidden item locations, you can fly around the entire map with no restriction. She hunts with you and acts as a map of sorts, allowing you to look at icons that would appear on a map and fast travel or mark locations. Im excited because I only just started taking the "origins" bit seriously. This game is laying the groundwork for the origin of the Assassins! I feel like Im late lol..

    • Really good in my opinion. But if you really haven’t played an AC since Brotherhood you’re not gonna have a single clue what’s going on in the present day. But you’ll understand the in-animus story. Worlds beautiful and expansive, the main character is the best and most emotional we’ve had since Ezio, story is interesting so far, combat is fun and fluid for the most part, RPG mechanics keep everything refreshing, etc. I recommend it

      • It has many aspects of the witcher 3 and dark souls, making it a great game.

      • It’s truly amazing. They completely revamped/rejuvenated the series. There’s so much to do. I’m not nearly half way done n I have at least 20+ hrs in on just main/side missions n exploring. I love it. Deff a must buy. Plus, it got really good reviews.

        • I don't even like Assassins Creed much but after watching someone play it I decided to give it a chance. It's awesome, hands down the best game in the series. The new combat system is great, lots and lots of weapon choices. It feels closer to a Witcher type rpg than an AC game to me. I love it so far.

        • Combats fun, combat bows (rapid fire type) are rubbish, predator bows are great. Not so much a fan of moving the attacks to the bumpers though and wish light/heavy attacks were X and Y rather than RB & RT. It's a bit like Witcher 3 style combat but just wish the controls were the same. Other than that great game so far from what i've played (mainly been on Wolfenstein 2 which is probably the best story i've ever seen in an FPS, and no microtransaction loot box nonsense either!)

          • Yes, yes, and more yes. I had lost hope for this franchise until my buddy explained the mechanics of Origins. So I bought it. It’s amazing! Kinda like an Egyptian themed Skyrim. It’s huge! Took me 4 hours just to finish the prologue. TL:DR; They did this one right, man. It plays kinda like an RPG. Definitely worth it.

My buddy just got it and we're game sharing. I'm still playing ff12 zodiac age, dragon quest heroes 2 and the new South Park. Wondering if I should wait to beat a couple of these, or wait until I get my Xbox one x. I'll probably end up playing it anyway... Lol. I've only heard good things about it, I'm excited to play. But I'm in the same boat as you, haven't cared for assassin's Creed since 2. I did kind of enjoy black flag, but the others were just boring to me. Now that it's pretty much an action rpg that changes everything, and the setting is by far the coolest thing they've done.

None of the missions force you to play any particular way. There are no "don't be detected" missions or missions that force you to do something stupid like eavesdrop, at least as far as I've seen and I'm like 30 hours in. Side missions are actually fun. Combat is challenging without feeling silly

              • Was tempted to buy this but I didn’t like the story for characters of Black flag, Syndicate, or Unity. The Ezio Trilogy is the best of AC by far. If the main character is like or similar in character depth as Ezio and the Story is compelling like the Ezio Trilogy then I’ll might pick this up Black Friday.

              • I think so, it's no longer wait for counter attack to win. Combat is a little closer to dark souls, leveling up gives you perk points which you can use to buy skills and abilities (the capstone abilities are basically a skill point dump so I'm not sure if you can just level infinitely. Weapons have quality levels, but if you find something you like you can take it to a blacksmith to upgrade it to your current level. Some items are quest locked, but other than the beginning you aren't locked from traveling anywhere (enemies may be tough enough to one-hit you, but I'm playing on hardest difficulty so. . .). TLDR: I'm enjoying it Oh spoiler
once you progress to the first time you leave the animus you can leave the animus from the upgrade menu, I'm not sure if this will be important at all but it will be useful if you've missed collectables
