Dear Bungie Team,
I just wanted to take some time and thank you for such a great game like Destiny 2. Of course there are some flaws with the game at release but if the last three years are anything to go by, I'm convinced that not only will you fix the issues that many in the community have raised, but also add more exciting content and experience!
I'm a solo player, unfamiliar with online forums and communities, but there's something that pulls me into this game and makes me want to join other Destiny communities, clans, and meet new people in the world you've created. I've only recently started playing Destiny, (first Destiny 1 Legendary edition on Xbox 360 over the summer of 2017, and now Destiny 2 on PC) and no game has ever made me even attempt to do so and I think that's special. After experiencing most of Destiny 1 I turned to YouTube to watch other discuss the lore of the game in depth and the impact of expansions that started all the way back in December of 2014. It was very entertaining.
But now there's a lot of content on YouTube these days about Destiny 2 and an overwhelming majority of it seems to be negative. Its frustrating to enjoy a game so much and see so much hate and criticism being reflected back (In very unproductive and inefficient ways I might add, screaming and hating something isn't the right way to change things). I think its important for people to understand that the Bungie team isn't just a collection of machines trying to milk the game's value for every penny, but human beings, with a clear passion for the game they've created and the fans that came along for the ride. I just hope that the negativity and the rants that seem to plague the community at the moment don't hurt the teams motivation for moving forward. If I created something I'm proud of, and others scream and rant about it's flaws, it would be extremely easy for me to feel discredited and my motivation and passion of that thing would surely be impacted for the worse.
So I sincerely would like to say thank you to the Bungie Team for making a game I know I will stay with through the good and bad, because I have faith that the game will only improve as time continues. I look forward to participating in upcoming events and new expansions. And I hope the team will continue to put the passion, I can so clearly see, into the future adventures of Destiny 2!
Thank you!
A New Loyal Fan
Edit: I never said, or believe that Destiny 2 is the greatest game known to man, or that I love Bungie's techniques for listening to the community. The purpose of this post was just to voice my concern that all the negativity in the community might impact the people who spend their nights and days trying to fix and update the game. People have a right to be upset, but equally so, if I enjoy the game I figure I might as well voice it too.

28 RepliesEdited by WeaponXmachina: 10/29/2017 7:17:56 AMMan you came into this franchise at a rough time. Let me fill you in on some key points: Every, and I mean every, negative shit poster is gonna call you a bungie fanboy. That same person is gonna call the game shit. They also have 4000 hours in destiny, and every mega blok set and have masturbated to Mara sov more times then wiping at Templar. Theyre gonna fell you the game sucks while simultaneously grinding the game harder than Miley Cyrus on a coke binge and then shit on the creators because they’re coming down off their high and have to return to normal “ not playing destiny with 18 hours “ types of days. They’ll say the game has no content but can’t point a single game in the genre as a better alternative. They’ll name off same lame ass, free to play garbage that’s trendy in their middle school as a better game, but in the end, when the dlc drops their happy ass will be posted up to grind the shit out of that content and rinse and repeat. In short, do not and I mean do not pay attention to anyone on these forums. Hell, include me. Stop reading, delete this app and enjoy the game. It’s the only way you can enjoy destiny anymore. The community is toxic and entitled and it’s only getting worse. So run before they flame you for liking something and not bashing it to feel cool. Good luck guardian, there’s a few of us out there that still have faith in the franchise and if you’re on Xbox add me I’m down to help with anything new Edit: just wanna thank the op and everyone agreeing. Glad to see I entertained a few fellow guardians.

2 RepliesThis is a dangerous place young one. May god have mercy on your soul. Also, have a bucket ready to collect all the salt that is to follow...

Meaning, Destiny fans will spend $80 on stuff they already have if that’s how badly they want new emotes and rare cosmetic items, and Bungie would be stupid not to let them. “If I fired up a video right now and showed you the emotes you would throw money at the screen,” he says, in the most quotable line of the interview. Yeah they don’t milk the game for money at all.

3 RepliesWell if you ever get the time to go back to d1 i'd enjoy having you here in me. We get lonely sometimes and we could use a positive person.

Have fun with it! That’s what it’s all about. Ignore the toxicity of these forums. Some folks just don’t know how to walk away from an unhappy relationship.

3 RepliesEdited by minonious: 10/29/2017 10:53:13 PMHow can you be loyal if you are new?. I would think loyal would represent the people who played thi3 game for 3 years, and never left. One character at 244.. jump the gun much?

1 ReplyIGNORE ALL THE IGNORANT SALTY COMMUNITY! They will suck the life out if you. I find it very funny when anyone posts anything positive about D2 they get berated and slammed and made to feel inferior. I, also like D2 and feel the same way.

1 ReplyYou literally just got the game a couple days ago. Everyone was praising Destiny 2 when it first dropped. Give it time & you'll see all the flaws start to show & the incredible lack of content to do.
-
1 ReplyWhy are you a new loyal fan now though? That doesn’t make sense, it’s as if that was a pity comment which certainly isn’t flattering to Bungie.
-
Omg, vomit... that is some hook. I'm sure you'll get a couple fishy's.

The only thing that motivates Bungie is money. Feedback they couldn't give a -blam!- about.

This is a troll/ bait thread, right?

Well, let's be real. You just started, so yeah it seems pretty fresh to you. Heck, if you haven't even completed D1 it might be years before you get to the point most here are at. BUT let's be real. Most people here just feel they completely dumbed D2 down. You don't have nearly as many ways to set up your character, and all the weapon rolls are static...so grinding for different rolls on your Martyrs Make for example just won't happen. In other words, D2 has inferior longevity to D1. Even Bungie recognized this by now and are working to fix it. So bottom line is,Destinytracker shows the numbers of players playing each day,and that number is declining much faster than it should(especially with the pc release just now happening). Word of mouth in artictles written in Forbes and other magazines is that this game is a gorgeous game with serious flaws(much like No Man's Sky). So no. Your post isn't going to make Bungie feel better. Glad you are currently enjoying it though. I enjoyed it as well for the first three weeks.

8 RepliesEdited by GTLargo21: 10/29/2017 4:37:20 PMNice to see someone who's legitimately having fun. If you need an in-between spot while finding a clan to stick with, the Bubble Armies of Ragnarok is free to join and open. My buddy HUHNOW runs the PC end of the BAR, quite a few people have already joined and we're currently lvl 4. Take your time enjoying the game and when you find a good crew to move to, let me know and I'll see you off. All BAR members are always welcome anytime.
