I for one am getting sick of the BS of being rushed through nightfalls. I miss destiny one being able to solo them if I so chose too. Hate feeling rushed all the time get enough of that everywhere else maybe hey some weeks aren’t rush rush rush.

Agreed. I can't stand being forced to skip encounters just to complete it. I hope they remove the timers. What if I want to grab a drink, run to the restroom, or get interrupted by my spilled drink.....nope I have to push through no matter the cause :(
-
No it’s easy
-
Absolutely. Maintain the Nightfall milestone, sub-20 or 30 minutes (as it used to be in D1). Being booted back out to orbit is plain silly. Or bring in a timer, but add daybreak and toughen up the enemies or something. Bungie, why you do this? Permanent timers aren't fun. Ever. There are plenty of other ways to challenge players, removing us from a game mode doesn't send a great message. It creates frustration more than anything.
-
Imo this isn't that bad,i found booted to orbit to be more annoying tbh, maybe I've just been lucky idk.
-
Me and my team have pretty much stopped playing them.
-
Nightfalls Are just boring and pointless now In early D1 they were fun, later on they were tolerable.... now it's like what's the point

42 RepliesI don’t NF anymore. Nightfall’s were the solo challenge I loved in D1. These are garbage. I loved to spend my time plotting how I was going to complete a NF solo! I loved the challenge and reward felt so much better!
-
What do you get for doing nightfalls?

Edited by Chandorraa: 10/13/2017 3:56:45 PMI don't mind the timer really, it adds some additional challenge to an end game activity. It would be nice to have some lore behind the anomalies though, or why killing a dreg gives me 2 additional seconds. There does seem to be a big difference week on week in regards to difficulty, this week was easy, last week was solid!! One thing I would like back from vanilla D1, is the flame graphic to indicate I have done the nightfall.
-
I don't care about the timer, I just want more fun modifiers like torrent from a while ago. I remember I helped like 10 groups through that NF just to have fun throwing grenades every 2 seconds.

Edited by Chastice: 10/13/2017 3:54:02 PMThe timer feels unnecessary, but when I read the comments there are loads of people who think it's the bee's knees. I attribute this to the fact that really only the 1% hardcore (for the most part) post and answer on these forums. Timers are not enjoyable. One of my buddies said it best: "Ya know, there were really only two games where timers worked. Majora's Mask and Dead Rising. This is stupid."
-
Solo a Nightfall. The whole reason the timer exists in the first place......
-
Ive given it alot of thought, hated it at first....but now....it suffers from the same problem the game as a whole does, loot, im up for a challenge, but not for 2 pieces of purple loot, hell, even the prestige is dropping crap I immediately dismantle.
-
On 240 mode the timer shouldn't even be an issue for the average player. You are given so much time and this week the more enemies you kill the more time you get so nobody has the "I wanna shoot things not run" excuse this week. Other people love the challenge the timer introduces because you must clear the strike with brutal efficiency! On Prestige mode you have seven minutes on the timer when the strike starts and getting it done feels great. And hey, being able to solo the Nightfall pretty consistently in D1 is why Bungie made them more difficult in D2. You are not supposed to be able to solo a Nightfall just like you're not supposed to solo a raid or Trials.

I agree. I miss the Y1 Nightfalls because of the fact the we got kicked to orbit from all dying, not taking too long.
-
Unfortunately it wouldn't matter much.. they design team has made it clear they don't want players to be able to pick a spot as cover and stay safe.. they are forcing guardians to move to stay alive.. so the new NF's won't give you a chance to sit back, take your time and solo it.. the enemies will overwhelm you for sure. I have mixed emotions about this approach.. I do miss spending an hour or more soloing a NF but the timer is also fun cause I like the challenge of finding a way to move quickly through the content. I do think they can satisfy both of these needs but they continue to show they have no idea the different ways we like to play games and continue to satisfy some with a change while alienating everyone else.. Never thought they were this shallow.

9 RepliesI have done one Nightfall, total. As long as it's a constant race for time, I won't do another one.

Edited by Morgan Hathorne: 10/14/2017 12:25:38 PMIf there was an actual reason for the timer like such and such bomb needs to be disarmed or weapon disabled or deal between fallen and cabal that needed to be stopped etc... That would be cool, and the time limit should be static too because, looking around for anomalies and jumping through hoops is plain dumb imho. but idk the lore behind the rings of time and anomalies i guess. Ai could definitely use a buff to their intelligence and wiping should reset activity. More interesting modifiers would be nice too.

You might’ve herd this b4 .......
get gud
12 RepliesSaid it a thousand times and I'll say it again - I don't mind the timer but I definitely understand why some people do, I too miss casual NF runs in D1 where we could take our time. There is SUCH an easy solution; keep the timer, make it an optional challenge, and problem solved. If you miss it, that's fine! If you push for it, you get some extra tokens and a higher chance of receiving better and/or more loot. Seems like a perfect fix to me, and one that would keep both sides happy.

Personally, I like the timer because it forces you to play differently and adapt. It's really quite unique when you think about it. Jumping through rings, shooting blue oracles. It may sound dumb, but I find it a fun little twist on the strike and certainly a better thing than just having to use weapons of a certain element to accommodate a burn. It's hard for me to think of any way of having these specific mechanics without the timer. I think the nightfall has a reward problem more than anything. Perhaps the entire game does.
-
Yes. It's why I stopped playing them.
-
Rushed? Yeah at times. Not a huge fan of timers anyway although I confess I'm starting to get used to the NF now. No problem in completing them but I sorta miss the more relaxed mode. Makes me think twice about T bagging my friends as it wastes time. In my circle of friends/clan members it's not an official NF without someone getting bagged. Just not the done thing.

i would have preferred a nightfall without a timer and a better dificulty than just "quick hurry"..+ thats lame and tedious.. not difficult..
