It's annoying when people try to blame others for their own personal issues.

I agree completely with BXR. This franchise has been run into the ground because of the increasing weight PvP has, despite it being completely ripped off basic features, such as even gamemode choice. I'm sorry but this game is completely dictated by PvP, the slower cooldowns and movement, the 2 primary system, and the removal of basic choice within the subclasses of a hybrid RPG game, all of this was done to promote PvP. Is it a good PvP? Honestly if you ask me, it's the worst triple A PvP I have ever played, I'd rather play CoD Ghosts against a full team of people sitting in corners with ghille suits and tracking sights than this. Go play old gen D1 PvP for even a single round, that's what this franchise should play like, a hybrid RPG should have spammy abilities, there's no point to different classes without them. I'd rather have a fun PvP and untouched PvE over balance and giving the sandbox team an easy time further nerfing everything into the ground. I read glowing initial reviews the day before this game came out, that will forever be my worst game purchase descision ever (and I bought The Division Gold Edition week 1). There's no PvE meat to this game that hasn't been dumbed down, the PvP is a shit Halo ripoff at best (in which I have MCC and the ability to install Halo 5). It's been watered down completely, not to mention the fact that class balancing is a joke (Warlocks and Titans are fine, Hunters have been getting royally screwed since late Taken King) and probably more than half of all legendary weapons aren't worth a damn because of fixed rolls. There's a reason the current user score on Metacritic is less than a 6 for PS4. I implore you, play old gen Destiny 1 PvP or current gen D1 PvE, it's what this franchise should be doing, not trying to beat Halo in what is a nearly vertical uphill battle at this point. Edit: This was posted before the podcast went up, I'm keeping it here for visibility and because I feel like it's relavent to some bullet points in the redone post.
Edit: Never mind the original post or the 3 community guests that took the time to talk Destiny with us.
On you for taking it down when people have yet to listen. You are the one pulling it down, not the community, so the hard work you did is for nothing if you pull it.
Once again the bitter feel the need to downvote because their feelers are hurt and the threads been hijacked, so here you go, already trending for you.
Nobody "hijacked" anything, Sols. You did not want to read someone's position and caused a ruckus over it. It's not hard to see where that became a thing. You want people to listen to your guests and your own PoV, but then when somebody doesn't agree with the position, you shut them down because you just don't want to hear it. It goes both ways man. You want people to treat the post respectfully, you need to act respectful in turn. Otherwise you end up looking worse. So since it was taken down, I am unable to listen and formulate an opinion on what it is you were even talking about. Which to be fair is pathetic. Hopefully in the future you will just cool off and think a bit before jumping to conclusions. I'd hate to see you drop a good thing because your ego gets in the way, but it is what it is. After all the "truthcast" was created to give the community a voice, and for discussing the topics brought up, not for ego trips. Hopefully you understand what I'm saying and stop this baby 💩, and return the truthcast for the people to listen to. It wasn't for the likes/dislikes that you did it, but it feels like that's really all you seem to care about these days..... Well I'm done ranting at 430am. I hope to see it back when I get back on later, so we can actually discuss what you guys worked on in a civil manner. After all, some of us (me) were waiting to hear your take on this game after launch.......

You know what's interesting? I'm really enjoying PvP and PvE...as a solo player with only a few hours a week to play. I understand how frustrating the three different fireteam sizes - 3, 4, 6 - must be for groups of friends. And I agree that 6-player patrols should have been a no brainer. Great guests! Checked out their podcasts and YouTube channels. Very creative. Very cool. Edit: Also, I can see how playing D2 the way I played Destiny - several hours a day, rather than a week - would leave me pretty bored and frustrated.

First and foremost, thank you guys for providing this enjoyable episode of the DTC. The guests are insightful, and I actually wanted to go and checkout the artist work afterwards, as I had not hung out around creations since the app change. I would love to have seen Nathans response to the Cayde/Nathan meeting. That had to have been just a priceless and proud moment. Sols, thank you for putting this back up. Now on to my brief wall of text, as it's 2am, and I'm tired. If you would like to discuss anything else further, by all means let me know. I'm all about getting my opinion criticized, because it can help myself and the community grow. Well on to the show. ------------------------ -Iron Banner It just feels like a basic playlist. There wasn't anything that felt Iron Banner to me. One thing I did love was having Saladin doing the voice over for the event......even though he kept calling my warlock a hunter...... 🙄 -Thoughts on crucible play overall I'll be brief here, as I have a written review next to me around 20 pages long, and a good majority is things relating to crucible. The short short version is that I hate 4v4, hate the reliance on teamshooting, and it bores me to tears. I will admit the new weapon system works very well for the countdown mode, but I cant help but feel handicapped in everything else. I get depressed when loading up my Legend of Acrius and letting loose, only to remember how D1 felt and I get depressed by what PvP has become. D1 encounters were always exciting. D2 not so much. If you want me to go into further details on this topic, I'd be glad to talk more upon it. -Are exotics too easy to obtain? Yes and no. Duplicates are way too common (9 Coldhearts straight, then a pair of Lucky Pants, followed by 3 more Coldhearts is really frustrating), but since the exotics feel really lackluster I don't mind the ease of drops as much. -4v4, RNG PvP playlists and the impact of 3, 4 and 6 player activities This is a long winded rant for me, so I'll keep it really brief. Basically I hate 4v4, I hate the RNG playlists, and it causes the social experience to just die as a result. I would jam with people in crucible, then we'd hop in the raid, get it done, and play a few more games if we aren't too tired. This split stuff does not help promote the friendship thing to me. In fact it feels like it does the opposite, which is not healthy for a game that prides itself on teamwork. -Are players happy with D2's endgame No. I'm one of them. I'll elaborate more later for us to have a discussion on as to my thoughts on this topic. But bottom line is No. -Content pacing I agreed with you on the timing of the drop for the content. I felt that a good way to have done it was this: W1-release, W2-FactionRally, W3-Normal Raid, W4-Trials, W5-IronBanner, W6-Prestige Raid, W7-Faction Rally (or reverse the last 2)... That way the content was spread out a bit, giving people time to enjoy the product and not this have to be Raid ready early week 2 mentality, because I guarantee there were people that leveled it too quickly. I myself had 3 characters at 265 in 3 days, and done with the story, and that's me running solo. -Does power level even matter in D2? Only as a barrier of entry, and nothing really more. -DeeJ and TW@B I don't really read that far on the TWaB. Usually I stop at the moments of the week, and then move onwards, so I did not see the context for how it was written. So I really can't comment until I read this. Was this a week ago or longer? -Destiny 2 as a social experience Ultimately I feel that the game itself has failed on promoting this concept, but in reality unless I'm chatting with someone or going to help them out with something, I have started to not sign on. So I guess for me in some weird way right now it's what is keeping me signing on, and yet I don't have enough people to talk with to keep that up for too long. -Eververse and missed in-game opportunities with her wares I just don't like how prominent Eververse is in this game. Why yes my Titan has the full armor set, minus the helm (waiting very patiently for the bright dust cost here...), I feel that Eververse, and the way that the slot machine packages were sold back in D1, had a major influencing factor for the way all vendors are in this game. Of course that's my opinion, but it's not that far fetched. -D2 campaign and strikes More things that I have to be brief on that are a part of my 20 page review.....how to paraphrase this.... Going with where you used it in the cast will simplify it. I agree with you guys in the fact that the strikes were integral for leveling and campaign related cleanup, not that they all fit the mold, but they fit well in D1. I don't like the integration in this game, and that you cannot select the individual strikes on the map. The Strike step for the raid shotgun questline is the perfect example, as you had to re-land on EDZ and sparrow to the flag to start the quest, which did get a bit annoying on a failed attempt. I have other thoughts regarding strikes as well as the campaign as well for a follow up post if you want to get my take on them. -Things we enjoy about D2 Saladin doing the IB voiceover. Honestly I cant think of much else at this moment, but if I do, I'll add something. -Favorite moments playing so far Throwing a shield to finish Ghaul off with my Titan. I'll have to upload the clip and link it. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JnB52h6G6-k With that said good work, and hope to see future installments. -LK EDIT: To add link for the Ghaul kill.

            • C'mon Lost, put the OP back up. I haven't had a chance to finish listening and I'd like to post my thoughts on your discussion points. I'm in agreement that I think people need to play the game before giving informed opinions on many aspects of the game.. though I do find opinions/thoughts about the generation direction Bungie is pushing this franchise, where their focus seems to be in regards to "balance", and where the obvious focus Bungie had when building its current system to be credible even if they person hasn't played the content thoroughly. But for the most part, they are just re-iterating things I've already read or heard from folks that actually HAVE played the game. So all in all... I just ignore those who don't play. What's point? You SHOULD know better than to engage, although engaging with assholes is sometimes what I'm all about (we both know that) so I understand how/why you've lost your cool here. But shake it off man. It's the damn internet. I see alot of folks agree with BXR. And on some points I do agree with what he's saying. But just because I agree doesn't mean in the end it holds a lot of weight with me. Otherwise I'd have no basis for not agreeing for the same reason. I truly do not understand why folks who don't play bother coming here to "engage" or "discuss" with those that do. When I took my breaks during D1, I wasn't here giving feedback or arguing with folks on the forum. Why would I? Unless I was just running around looking for an arguement. Ah! Maybe that's it.. And no offense to you BXR, we've had perfectly good interactions in the past. But, please do continue with your show. If not here at b.net, then elsewhere. It's easy for folks to hate and downvote. In the end, their only contribution is negativity, trolling, and bullying. -blam!- that and -blam!- them. I don't care about the history, who was mean to who and what bad things you might have said years ago, I don't care that we always don't agree, and I don't give a damn if you give me a hard time when we raid (although, you just might have to put up with a drunken Big Tex rant on occasion). What you're doing and how you're including members of THIS community is a good thing. How you and your friends go out of your way help people in this community get through group content is a GREAT thing. Giving members of this community a voice that Bungie hopefully hears through a medium that would not otherwise have access to is FANTASTIC thing. Hell, I don't think D2 is a fantastic achievement. I don't think it lived up to it's hype, and surely not it's potential. But, I've been having fun playing it. And even though Deej's timing is horrible and extremely tone-deaf, the FrEnd Game is REAL. And when I'm not having fun, I won't play it no more. Alright haters... I got two fists, two big hairy nuts, and I'm a mushroom cloud layin mother-blam!-er... mother -blam!-er. So.... BRING IT. PS.. Would love to bring the discussion back to the feedback points discussed on the show anytime.

Happy if you guys are back to making podcast, but I get it if you are done.
-Iron Banner
I just almost broke my D2 cd, my controller and tv. I have a headache after playing just now. IB was the first event that got me into pvp in destiny, now....... I'm done and lost for words. I really wanted that hunter gear set.
-Thoughts on crucible play overall
Everyone already knows how I feel on this one. Balance and lag was the biggest issue in destiny, they could have easily fixed that in D2. Hate the small maps, hate team shooting.
-Are exotics too easy to obtain?
I don't think so. I haven't seen one since Ive been playing this week.
-Are players happy with D2's endgame
Haven't raided, don't think I will. With that said I don't have a dog in this race.
-DeeJ and TW@B
I poked fun at the friend comment, but players really blew up over it and it wasn't even that serious. This is deej we are talking about, not Luke or a dev.
-Eververse and missed in-game opportunities with her wares
Lol and you said it. Edit: if I came off mad or something my bad. I'm livid right at what iron banner is right now. Had to switch to destiny for a bit.

              • -Iron Banner Not a fan of what they are pushing as IB. Its just Crucible. This isnt an event. -Thoughts on crucible play overall Boring, dull, corridor shooter. -Are exotics too easy to obtain? Does it really matter? None are any good except for maybe 2 or 3 and none add anything overly impactful. -4v4, RNG PvP playlists and the impact of 3, 4 and 6 player activities Severely limits player choice, all matches are sweaty and pretty much play out all thr same way. Matches should never go full time limit. -Are players happy with D2's endgame Well other than the raid I dont see any end game. Trials is a joke. -Content pacing When we get some I'll have an opinion. IB and Factions are not Content. -Does power level even matter in D2? No.. its just a gate so you can run Prestige mode. Should be removed IMO -DeeJ and TW@B His comments pissed me off... sorry they did. Came off very arrogant. -Destiny 2 as a social experience Yeah.. no.. -Eververse and missed in-game opportunities with her wares Ehh.. this doesn't really bother me. All that much. -D2 campaign and strikes Campaign was fun the first time. Ran 2 strikes on each toon.. never went back. Absolutely no reason too.. -Things we enjoy about D2 Not much to be honest. With static rolls and a two primary system.. just not exciting. The raid is fun.. -Favorite moments playing so far The Raid

                • I didn't get a chance to listen before the link was taken down so I can't comment specifically about what's in the podcast but I'll give my brief opinion on D2. This is an alt acct that I only use when I'm banned on my main acct. My main acct is Blackout300sbr2. I have all 3 characters at 305 and have played all current endgame content save the prestige NF, and the reason I haven't done the prestige NF is because it isn't worth it. Here are my thoughts. I am personally disappointed with D2. That's difficult to say because I've been a big defender of Bungie and Destiny for a long time and I'm sure that many will ask why I have so much time in a game that I'm disappointed with? It's because Destiny is a fun game and has a lot of potential but Bungie screwed the pooch with this installment. The raid is fun but no where close to D1 raids. It's all mechanics and much less shooting. The best part of the raid is the Castellum, (because it's so much fun to shoot shit) and everyone want to skip that part!! Half (or more) of the gear is instantly deleted or infused because it's worthless junk. To me, everything has been tuned so that no specific gear becomes OP in pvp. PvP in Destiny should be an afterthought in terms of design. It should be where most of us go to kill time with friends when we've finished the milestones for the week. Sure, there should be endgame PvP, but the rest of the game shouldn't suffer for it. There's no point in saying anything else really because BXR said it pretty well. This game is worse than it should've been for the sake of balance in PvP.

Can we all just accept that D2's [edit] INTENDED endgame is the PVP and move on? Lets face it: Raiding hasn't been worthwhile since Y1. Y2's raid gear was mostly just desirable for its infusion value. The gear itself was mostly terrible (well known exceptions excluded). Y3's raid was marginally better, but the guns weren't SPECIAL. They were on par with whatever else was out there, and no better. This could have been improved had they brought back elemental primaries, but they chose not to, rendering raid guns, at worst, infusion fodder, and at best, on par with everything else out there. This is PRECISELY the same exact illness that D2 suffers from, only taken to the next level. Seriously, I have been saying this even before RoI launched: this game without loot-based incentives to get people playing content is NOTHING more than an FPS - and not a very good one when you consider other FPS's are better balanced. I argued in RoI that if the raid gear wasn't elite-tier and better than anything else out there, the game is just an FPS with a unique way to unlock different guns. D2 takes that concept and takes it to an entirely different level. This isn't an argument FOR D2's balancing, its more of an argument of acceptance of the fact that D2 is nothing more than an FPS with a bunch of other fancy PVE content - which provides ZERO incentive for you to play it. This game simply cannot have a rewarding PVE endgame AND co-exist in the same sandbox as a precisely balanced competitive PVP experience. Its not going to happen. Sure, they can bring back RNG rolled guns, etc. but in order to keep things balanced, all the perks/mods will have to be bland, OR there will be some balance issues which render the game far less competitive. There is ONLY ONE acceptable solution: Competitive PVP MUST be fully separated from the rest of the game in a meaningful way OR must be completely eradicated from the game, period. That isn't going to happen, since PVP is Bungie's comfort zone, especially when it comes to bland, generic, slow-paced shooters. And Bungie has already come out and said that they aren't going to separate PVE from PVP. IMO, that makes Destiny transitioning from a lootshooter game with RPG elements played from a FPS perspective to nothing more than your standard, generic FPS shooter inevitable. Will be interesting to see how Bungie tries to make that work under a contract that requires them to release paid-for DLC regularly between full game launches.

                                  • Good to have you back, chaps. Listening as I play just now. Now that I'm back in a regular(ish) schedule for playing, I'd love to join you guys again for another recording sometime.
