Is D2 the biggest flop of the year?

12 RepliesIt depends on your definition of flop. Is D2 a great game. It’s a MVP as Skill Up pointed out. There is no innovation or surprises or new features such as in Hellblade or Nier Automata. They are different genres of game but do come close to greatness because of the love and care which went into each game( I apologise to PC players for Nier Automata as I believe that the port to PC was pretty gruesome ) For goodness sake D2 has no new enemies except dogs. In Nier Automata you fight enemies on a rollercoaster, how cool is that. Is it a very good game ? Certain aspects are very good: It is very beautiful, empty but beautiful. The music is great. Other than that I can think of nothing outstanding which would raise D2 to a very good game. Is it a good game ? There are lots of good things in it I like such as the Public Events, I like the idea of Lost Sectors. I like the additional NPCs.Not sure that that is sufficient to make it a good game Is it a good/ mediocre Game.? I guess that I would have to plump for this category. Everything is sort of OK and I enjoyed the first few hours. For me it has little replayability because of the things Bungies removed which have been listed in detail on this forum . Is it a flop? Yes for the hard core player, no for the Casual player

16 RepliesYou're not the only one. However, sales and reviews don't back your opinion. All of the major reviewers gave D2 good reviews (mostly on the 8/10 range), and it's sold well so far. But of course, regardless of reviews or popular opinions, the game is automatically and unquestionably bad because you didn't like it.

It made too much money to be considered a flop. Even if it's the worst game of the year it's not considered a flop unfortunately.

7 RepliesYeah, it has had a rough launch. But no game is perfect at launch. Yes there are some massive changes, but we will all eventually get used to it. Just wait for the upcoming DLCs to come out. Give it a chance!

What I can say about Destiny 2 is that it's just as fun playing with friends as it was in D1. We just finished the raid together last week and it was a blast.

8 RepliesIt's not a flop financially but the longevity of the game has been destroyed. Only hope is they compare D1 to D2 and see why D1 was still relevant after 3 years and why D2 is sinking in popularity 1 month into its lifecycle. Hint for Bungie: *cough* end game *cough* random rolls....

It's looking that way. I had a group of 10+ friends I played destiny 1 pretty much every day with for a year and a half. They all came back for d2 excited. And in 1 month they have all quit the game. Bungie really laid and egg with this sequel.

They’ve made their money, but that whole 10 years plan is now only, possibly, 4 or 5. They ruined this franchise. My copy of D2 is back at GameStop.

I haven't seen actual numbers, but I heard it was out selling Destiny 1 in the same time frame. Now add PC gamers next week and they will sell more copies of this piece of shit. Man, I hope the PC gamer race slams the shit out of this game.
