All the people i know und myself are wondering how useless and unimportant the Powerlevel is. It doesn‘t make you (feel) stronger against NPC. It doesn‘t affect in PVP and even NOT in the PVP event at the weekend. Now Iron-Banner will start and there is this „so important“ Powerlevel also irrelevant... i and others don’t get it... bungie do you really wanna makes feel more uncomfortable?
There is not really any kind of Endgame and u make us feel that the gear we get for playing doesn’t bring us forward. It’s like treading water...

They should rename power level "aces level" as all it does is give aces and gives a penalty if you try to do it before a set number. Because of this stupid "power" system and fake stats like "defense" the game has almost no progress. Even tough your damage and defense are fixed % when you match power level, there still many mobs that scale to your exact level just to extra rub it in you never get stronger.

Started a new topic: Power level I notice does one thing
-
Yep like balls on the pope...
-
1 ReplyDestiny 2 is that mom at her son's tee ball game. You know, the one that believes everyone is a winner and everyone should get a participation trophy.
-
I feel like in PVE everything is scaled, this sucks alot out of the game becuase it seems like you arent actually growing any stronger. Essentially you are just chasing a number. PVP is a snoozefest run buy Mida, Last Hope and any autorifle. But top teir PVP should still impliment level advantages.

3 RepliesIt's extremely apparent when you do nightfall too. That shit says 240 power. Running through at 300 and everything is just a complete bullet sponge. Bungie is using smoke and mirrors to make things harder for certain activities.
-
2 RepliesIt's important for LITERALLY every PvE activity.
-
17 RepliesWell as someone who has done the nightfalls a fair amount i can tell you that power level makes a huge difference. I am 305, and fighting an enemy that is 290 or lower vs an enemy that is 305 is a pretty big difference (the fact that nightfalls scale can be brutal). As for PvP it of course makes no difference, the game types themselves say that power levels dont matter.
-
It's because off all of the snow flakes who are entitled. The complaints about it not meanging much would be far less then the kids crying about getting whipped.
-
Yeah but you gotta catch them all. Reminds me of borderlands, the way the enemies get stronger. But that is the only comparison.
-
Levels make a difference when you're under the activity level, but over-leveling feels useless. Destiny feels like the one RPG style game where you don't get stronger, only less weak.
-
2 RepliesSo you want to be able to one shot legionaries with a auto rifle shot, or solo a prestige nightfall? Then the challenge is gone, and you get bored very quickly
-
26 RepliesAgain for all the people who have no understanding of this at all. POWERLEVEL makes a difference. Go do a prestige ANYTHING at 280 light then go do it at 300. It is to do the highest level content. I cant grasp how people dont understand this. Furthermore you don't do extra damage in public events or any other activity to PRESERVE GAMEPLAY. I do not want to be able to 1 shot and steamroll regular content (most players with skill dont). It scales the content so it retains SOME form of rewarding gameplay. Facerolling is not rewarding. To sum up - powerlevel ALLOWS access to higher difficulty challenges WHILE preserving lower PL activities or else you would be pigeon holed into one or 2 activities that actually feel fun. Now if only they fixed the endgame.

1 ReplyEdited by B_Sisko: 10/10/2017 9:59:51 PMIts not useless, it just only matters in strikes and raids. PvP still benefits from higher quality gear and stat bonuses.
-
Must be 305..... *Sigh*
-
Wrong. It only matters for pve. Even in D1 it only mattered in pve. You had low light level people rolling through IB wrecking max light level players. Light level difference never was much of a factor since the difference in damage wasn't that noticeable. This is complaining just for the sake of complaining. Unless you need a crutch in pvp to actually kill something and thus asking for light/power w/e the -blam!- you wanna call it to let you do more dmg to lower leveled people. Which is pathetic really.
-
2 RepliesPeople still don't know how level works in this game??? All your level decides is if you are disadvantaged in each activity. Being underleveled makes you deal less damage and take more damage while being overleveled does absolutely nothing. Higher level = Higher level activities with out disadvantages.
-
2 RepliesSame low grimoire noobs, same whiney post.
-
An your now figuring it this out poor compadative players with nothing better to do. I perfer it like that so no one has to deal with not being a certain level to do certain things. Also you do know there are 2 very probably very shitty dlc coming that may fix this right. I mean seriously stop complaining collect the gear it may be important later. I mean I'm keeping all the beginning gear just in case.

Edited by Gatomori: 10/10/2017 9:45:38 AMI was hoping that this virtual number on my screen would give meaning to my life. What the -blam!- Bungie, Destiny 2 will kill me
-
I'm assuming power lv advantages will be enabled in 2 weeks or so since 350 will be hard cap until dlc releases. Bungie caters to the casuals so power lv advantages are still disabled to give them more time without barring them from end game pvp.
-
2 RepliesOutside of the raids and the nightfall, it didn't matter in Destiny 1 either. So why are people just noticing this now? (Other than the legitimate IB complaint) D1 was capped at 40 light levels above the activity's Recommended Light Level. D2 is the same. The raid is recommended 270, so power level is capped at 310, for example. I believe the only difference between D1 and D2 is the regular mode nightfall. It's recommended power level in D2 is 240 I believe, so you can level over the cap of 280. In D1 I believe the nightfall cap was over 400 so it was impossible to out level it.
-
It's almost like all the people posting this never played destiny
-
1 ReplyUntil you power level is over 9000 I would suspect you won’t feel very strong
-
Screw powerlevel. Friendshiplevel is the most important!
-
1 ReplyThe new end game grind is to hit 305 with all blue gear (see good weapons) just cause I want to show how meaningless the grind is.
