They did it. They ruined Iron Banner
They truly did it. They removed the one thing that made Iron Banner unique. Our power level no longer matters.
I enjoyed it when i was out leveled in D1 by 20+ Light. THAT is what makes skill matter. Outplaying a team that out ranks you in power.
Now the playing field is leveled like the rest of crucible. Atleast the gear looks nice. To bad it will be -10 of your power.
I guess there is one other brightside. For one week we can choose a playlist that doesnt change game modes. Guess its to bad its Control and not Clash.
Come on bungie.. What players are you even trying to cater to anymore. I want the thrill back. The grind. The excitment that comes when Salad Hands doesnt have the gun for sale you want and three days in the gun drops for you after a match.. Bungie. What have you done.
Needless to say, i will still play a few matches a day because if this game ever does become what it was Destined to be i dont want to come back in with catch up to do.

9 RepliesBungie is a company, companies like to make money, they are catering to the literally millions of average or casual players that pay the bills, not the few thousand vocal whiners. I'm sorry if that's harsh but that's just how I see it. If they make a game that only appeals to people that can play 10 hours a day, they'll lose all of the players that can only play 10 hours a week, which is the majority. I do think they're working on it though, they've been going around social media an streams to see what players want. At this point the forums are a loss.

Yea they totally ruined iron Banner i am start to wonder if they even understand who their fans are and what they fans like because they have took away everything we wanted from one and replace it with trash in 2

They threw power/light out the window when they allowed (and still allow) low level enemies to even breath in my presence let alone damage me.

10 RepliesI miss the Light level being PvP but I understand and support it being pulled. Some people are limited in the time they can play so why but up unnecessary barriers of entry for them? They paid the entry fee too and should be able to play as much content as their schedule allows.

3 RepliesThat's not the problem. Iron Banner is more casual friendly which is good. The mechanics and way to play have not changed. That's the problem. Iron Banner in D1 was boring, regular Crucible but with the Iron Banner name slapped on. There should he more intrigue. Some mechanic or objective that is vastly different from regular Crucible. But no. We just get drag and drop copy and paste of regular Crucible. Only difference is "uh, duh pritty armor duh."

There was only one IB that level advantages mattered with was the first IB after Light Light got addeded, every other one 90% of the players were at levels where there was no noticeable differences. If anything disabling level advantages is a positive thing as it allows people to use whatever weapons they want reguardless of its level

If you like Destiny 2 or not, you can't deny that Bungie is catering the game towards a more casual audience.

I personally could care less about the light level being enabled. What I find really important is the new Ib weapons. What im worried about is if they are just reskins of other legendary weapons. Ib has always had unique weaponry in D1 and it was exciting to chase and try a whole new looking weapon. They need to keep that theme up for D2 and have unique weapons like the clever dragon and lingering song etc were. That is the most important thing in my opinion that needs to come from IB.

There was barely any skill level in iron banner, the damage differences wasnt that noticeable

How the hell does that ruin iron banner? Everybody who did iron banner was max or near max light level and it didn't even give a good bonus against other players. These posts are really starting to kill brain cells.

Meh. Light level isn't what matters in any of the PvP modes. It's lag. Come on, how many times has you L400 toon been owned by a L150 player in D1 Iron banner who was red bar?. You empty your entire MG clip into their heads, they don't even loose a pixel of their shields and they get a melee kill on you from the other side of the map. Iron Banner will belong to the red bar clan.

3 RepliesBy not introducing a different game mode on top of stripping away levels & bounties on top of removing power caps Bungie has officially snubbed it's nose at the hardcore players yet again in this game. I'll say the armor looks.. ah.. I like it but I don't think the samurai look really fits the IB and I doubt the guns will be anything special.

Yeah I'm definitely disappointed by how many weapons I'll be able to go into iron banner with now that I'm no longer restricted by their power level
