You know Xur's inventory is awful when...
You get home from work, load into Io, and see 6 people all standing in a circle around Xur firing all the heavy ammo they have at him.
I didn't even have to look at what he had to know it was going to be another letdown. Seriously, if Xur is only to have 4 items every week, it would probably be a smart idea to make more than 1 out of those 4 items any good. Xur used to be something to look forward to, now it's just another thing to roll our eyes at each week.
P.S. Thank you to whoever designed and added the "slow clap" emote to the game, because it really helps me sum up my attitude towards Xur each week XD
Edit: I was honestly not expecting my joke to get this much attention, so let me clarify:
I think the fact that Xur only brings 4 items every week makes people feel more prone to being let down. This is because the odds of someone having most of his inventory increase a lot when he only sells a few items. In D1 he used to sell three of coins, heavy ammo, sparrow upgrades, glass needles, and exotic shards. So, even if his selection of exotic items was not to your liking you still had a reason to go visit him or look forward to Xur each week. That reason is now gone for a lot of people, as evident by the 6 people I saw shooting Xur with Rocket launchers...

your last paragraph is what hit it dead on. you could always buy something from him because of heavy synths and three of coins. nobody is spending real dollars at eververse for fire team medallions, Xur should sell them each week for shards. that would at least give us something to spend all these shards we have each week. plus i rarely see people using/buying medallions since most would rather spend bright dust on shaders and emotes. just have Xur sell medallions

3 RepliesXur should sell exotic engrams for 50 shards or something like that. And in addition, maybe just sell 1 exotic engram per character so it can't be abused. So people can get stuff at their appropriate power level, and then they have a chance for new stuff if Xur isn't selling anything new for them. Then Xur would be fixed.

Xur is and always has been about helping new players gear up with extotics. After you have reached a certain level, Xur will be useless to you. He sold some useful accessories in D1 like exotic shards, glass needles and 3 of Coin but in D2, there are other ways to up the odds of an exotic drop and there is no need for glass needles and exotic shards so a quick check to see what stuff he's got and forget about it and move on.

3 RepliesWith how easy it is to get exotics. Remove xur fron the game. Also since everything is a fix roll. Tripple the legendary items. Tripple the exotics. Make them actually worth while to get. And lower the drop rate so its actually fun. Also rebalance your game so work vs reward actually works. No reason to do strikes when PE give everything faster and easier.

Xur should actually sell rare exotic equipment that you can't achieve by opening engrams..they should also sell at a high price 500 for one exotic

I would prefer that there would be I don't know MORE EXOTICS IN THE GAME! In D1 you had tons of exotics to work for and each one was unique in its own way. Sure some sucked more than others but there were plenty good exotics to out way the bad ones. In destiny 2 they have less than half of the amount of exotics in D1 during year one.

If they added mods and ammo synths and hell even some sparrows it would be something. It's a weekly thing so not every week is gonna be good. He already sold the best 2 weapons in the game. I didn't have the armors so I bought them. I won't use them but it got me 3 exotics closer to having them all.
