Five in my clan (myself included) running a Guided Raid to help a random. One member lagged out and tried to get back in immediately and got an Oathbreaker penalty... ... ...the game would not let him back in due to this.
Kind of a problem. All of us voted after to Abandon without Penalty so we could all leave and then finish the raid with the random anyways. However, we do not get any rewards as a clan or as a player for this.
There has to be a way to fix this or why would a clan risk anything negative by running any Guided Games/Nightfall/Raids.
I understand the concept behind why Bungie has this but...an accidental lag out and locked out of getting back in is wrong.
I've never asked for a like, but if you read this and could like it so it gathers some attention from Bungie to come up with a way around this. (cough...cough...a timer to get back in the game).
Ended up going back in the raid after going out to orbit with the random (Silvermain1066) and back into the raid and found out we also didn't have our checkpoint, that's shitty. We are starting the raid fresh anyways again, no big deal, we are still going to clear this for him.

Update: I just want to thank everyone for the support, over 1200 bumps and a lot of great suggestions that I hope Bungie takes into consideration. I'm hoping Bungie will acknowledge it at least and help us all get this addressed :)

6 RepliesHonestly this guided games feel like a missed opportunity. All it should be is an in game lfg. No need for the fancy oaths and so on. Lfg has worked since the game came out, and occasionally there are some assholes out there. That's why we have a *hopefully* active reporting system.
-
happened to me too. Got booted from the game and I was just hoping I could rejoin but couldn't. I see why we can't rejoin and game or have a timer set on how long you can rejoin
-
That is really unfortunate, me and my clan really liked the idea of these guided raids and nightfalls, and we were thinking it would be cool to do soon, but i kind of dont want to if it has such a harsh penalty for accidentally disconnecting. I mean i get that you dont want people to be abandoning others, but how about a report system instead, i cant see people leaving a raid or nightfall being as big of an offence. And yes i know the report system could also be abused bit it is at least a step up from being penalized for internet problems (which many times is destinys fault, had more then a few times where nothing was wrong with the internet but i was kicked from destiny servers).

24 RepliesThey should do this for crucible but not so hard. Leaving 5 games in 1 day should get you a penalty from playing at all for atleast an hour.

The exact same thing happened to me and my clan. I have a temporary set-up while I install an Ethernet cable and hub. Unfortunately it’s just a direct line leading down the hallway and I have a dog. Sometime it loses connection for half a second and kicks me out. I tried to get back in immediately after but it wouldn’t let me. A timer is the best option I think.

The game should be able to tell the difference between being booted or holding triangle. Just saying.
-
I kinda knew that guided games was going to be a mess from the start tbh.

1 ReplyIt's quite buggy... we were at Calus on a guided game, breezed through up until this point. Only one guy would spawn in after a wipe. He had to close out, reopen Destiny 2, rejoin the fireteam. We bagged the effort after this occurred multiple times.
-
This just happened to me. My clanmate and I got booted to orbit. We had the guy in party chat so we just started fresh and got it done. Oathbreaker debuff is stupid.
-
1 ReplyDamn this is why I’ve been hesitant to try guided games period.
-
Excellent for bringing that up. This is criticism that we need. A true improvement !!! Hats off to you sir ! :)
-
There are other bugs included that prevent players from spawning in. Not sure what triggers it, but sometimes a random set amount of players simply spawn in dead. The only way to fix this is to leave and rejoin. Be kind of annoying if you have to abandon the activity / guided raid if this happens.

22 RepliesEdited by Ske1tl-l: 9/29/2017 5:28:56 AMPeople can get punished for lagging out on a guided game but no one gets punished for leaving competitive PvP? Okay.

5 RepliesThis is good feedback for them right now. Remember it's in the BETA stage.
-
I mean that would be as simple as putting a timer on disconnected players. Like a ten minute timer to rejoin. Given that there are glitches in the raid like Calus not even being there that you need to leave in order to fix that needs to be implemented.

11 RepliesEdited by cahu245: 9/29/2017 5:18:49 PMPotential fix: players vote if a player can return. If the vote passes, the oath breaker is nullified and forgiven.
-
Wow, definitely upvoting this, that's not great at all. I feel like going back into the same activity should remove any penalty the system gave you.
-
10 RepliesUmm....easy answer. Don't do raids if you have shite internet....
-
Lagging out shouldnt penalize someone. Bump.
