Five in my clan (myself included) running a Guided Raid to help a random. One member lagged out and tried to get back in immediately and got an Oathbreaker penalty... ... ...the game would not let him back in due to this.
Kind of a problem. All of us voted after to Abandon without Penalty so we could all leave and then finish the raid with the random anyways. However, we do not get any rewards as a clan or as a player for this.
There has to be a way to fix this or why would a clan risk anything negative by running any Guided Games/Nightfall/Raids.
I understand the concept behind why Bungie has this but...an accidental lag out and locked out of getting back in is wrong.
I've never asked for a like, but if you read this and could like it so it gathers some attention from Bungie to come up with a way around this. (cough...cough...a timer to get back in the game).
Ended up going back in the raid after going out to orbit with the random (Silvermain1066) and back into the raid and found out we also didn't have our checkpoint, that's shitty. We are starting the raid fresh anyways again, no big deal, we are still going to clear this for him.

Update: I just want to thank everyone for the support, over 1200 bumps and a lot of great suggestions that I hope Bungie takes into consideration. I'm hoping Bungie will acknowledge it at least and help us all get this addressed :)

It's good that you still helped him. If that was me you helped so much I would probably have asked to join your clan straight after

1 ReplyEdited by Omegatron: 9/30/2017 2:07:51 PMYou're all good people. Great people. Some of the best and brightest the Destiny community has to offer. You had obstacles and you over came them with Yuuuge amounts of skill and bravery. Very proud!

He was so great full for getting him through it, please get this sorted it's a joke!!!

I understand the purpose of the Oathbreaker Penalty, and punishing someone who lags out or gets sent to orbit for inactivity is definitely not "working as intended". Please remedy this Bungie.

Wouldn't an in game lfg have fixed this, yeah but bungies to incompetent An lfg dedicated area in the tower or separate social space would be nice too. Bungie only cares about pvp so g luck getting anything fixed or even correct in pve.

Hoping for the best for you guys, good luck Guardian.

We had the same problem but it kicked two people over a stupid glitch. We went back to the raid with the random and still got pent alized , not Kool bungie, not Kool at all.

2 RepliesSame similar with us doing a guided nightfall. We (myself and clanmate) knew we botched the first run with too much time lost, as we voted to abandon. Ran it second time but kept the individual in the party and fired it up. So we got no rewards. System is a good start but needs tweaking

1 ReplyI'm in complete shock that they just completely missed this or they said F-it. Did they think no one would get disconnected in a game full of disconnects/only online game ?

Bump.

1 ReplyWhat's the reward for doing a guided game?
-
1 ReplyThey'll probably do something. Even just a timer would be sufficient.

5 RepliesI suggested, since Destiny 1, that there should be an LFG kiosk at the tower. A drop down menu whereby you indicate the activity, number of people required etc and players can select which games they want to join. Then, once accepted, you are on that person's fireteam from the tower and go into orbit with the required fireteam. Whilst waiting for the LFG group to fill, the fireteam members already joined could be cashing their engrams, sorting their loadout / taking what you need out of your vault space etc. before you head into orbit and the activity. The tech is all there, just needs the will and a bit of tweaking.

So... Bunghole somehow unintentionally manages to put an error code in their game that get's you to stop playing Destiny? Sounds like a win to me

This is why guided games is a stupid plan should of just done a simple matchmaking option for night fall lfg for raids

6 RepliesIt seems to me that the whole oathbreaker debuff is a solution looking for a problem. If the motivation to participate as a guide is to get the reward for being a guide, then if you don't get your seeker across the finish line you wasted your time. It's its own punishment. Assure that the motive for participating stays tied to completion and the oathbreaker debuff becomes moot. Place a penalty on players for disconnects that aren't their fault (at a time when connection errors and crashes are STILL unacceptably prevalent) and you're virtually guaranteeing that players gradually abandon the guided games function altogether and go back to posting "Sherpa requested" games on the100.

Better than getting booted from trials and getting a free loss.

This is bungo... their MO is to wait too long to actually fix things

2 RepliesI have my SNES Classic and I don't care about the raid.

Working as intended.

Bump. It's cool to hear you guys are some classy guardians
-
Good looking out, community needs more guardians like you! Ugh, but I will say this and this is pointed towards Bungie. I am awaiting PC launch and haven't played D2 yet, but with all of these concerns it sounds like we took steps back from D1. A real Shame

A timer to get back in the game is a great idea. Let's face it ANYBODY who has completed a raid has had a connection issue before
