Five in my clan (myself included) running a Guided Raid to help a random. One member lagged out and tried to get back in immediately and got an Oathbreaker penalty... ... ...the game would not let him back in due to this.
Kind of a problem. All of us voted after to Abandon without Penalty so we could all leave and then finish the raid with the random anyways. However, we do not get any rewards as a clan or as a player for this.
There has to be a way to fix this or why would a clan risk anything negative by running any Guided Games/Nightfall/Raids.
I understand the concept behind why Bungie has this but...an accidental lag out and locked out of getting back in is wrong.
I've never asked for a like, but if you read this and could like it so it gathers some attention from Bungie to come up with a way around this. (cough...cough...a timer to get back in the game).
Ended up going back in the raid after going out to orbit with the random (Silvermain1066) and back into the raid and found out we also didn't have our checkpoint, that's shitty. We are starting the raid fresh anyways again, no big deal, we are still going to clear this for him.

Update: I just want to thank everyone for the support, over 1200 bumps and a lot of great suggestions that I hope Bungie takes into consideration. I'm hoping Bungie will acknowledge it at least and help us all get this addressed :)

Tried guided games last night, took forever to match, didn't even match, just a black loading screen, and then when I tried to go somewhere else it wouldn't let me

Guided games are really broken; it isn't even funny.

4 RepliesWe aren't going near guided games. There is literally nothing for us to gain and everything to lose.

Sad, but not entirely unexpected. I know quite a few people in several clans who used to Sherpa raids in D1 who've been holding back on using GG precisely because they were concerned about what would happen if someone got error coded, someone had to leave part way through or if the random was being obnoxious towards others (e.g. being racist, sexist, homophobic). Bungie needs to address these issues as a matter of urgency. Good luck with the rest of your raid.

I had the exact same issue. Nothing is more frustrating than wasting hours of your time only to end up having all that effort undone in an instant of malfunction. This needs to be fixed immediately. ------------ Slake Psychology

3 RepliesMy clan wanted to do guided games but if the clan is full you can't do guided games apparently. Only if you have space in the clan, you can help others I was told.
-
Or just don’t do guided games

I’ve had the same issue with just nightfall. Try to hurry and get back in to find out I broke the oath because of destiny server issue. Wasn’t happy at all

hey Archive this post and copy paste in the future. If bungie 'forgets' to see this

There should be (and probably is) a way to tell which guardians were doing the raid and what caused any players to have errors. The player(s) that received the error should be able to rejoin. That being said; I would like to see an option for the guides to be able to swap members within their clan without penalties. Suppose a clan (5 members) decided to guide a random through the raid, but due to needing to explain many things and lots of trial and error the guided game ran long. What if member of the clan ran out of time to help the random? Would the clan be penalized for a member having to do real life things (work/family)? Also would it be possible for the clan to bring another member in to replace the leaving one? As the guided games platform stands currently; there is only loss to be had by the ones guiding.

1 ReplyPeople do not lag out of bungies games. Bungie games and servers are perfect. RAID working as intended. OP should delete all characters and sell console.

Edited by Bald Fury: 9/30/2017 4:03:58 PMWe got all the way to Calus in under two hours. (Greatest random of all time) Then Calus would lag out, hard. We wouldn't spawn. At all. So we killed ourselves. But it wouldn't let us res, and the shared fate wouldn't proc. One member decided to close the game, in an attempt to get it to work. Except the lag never stopped. We couldn't res, Calus wouldn't spawn. Finally after several members were penalized for disconnecting and coming back, we got Calus to respond. We promptly one shot Calus, and we were told mission complete, I could now take control of the fireteam. We left to the tower, and we were all told we were penalized. And at the end of it all, 4 of us got the Nightfall Guided Games emblem... I fail to see how the raid and the nightfall yield the same reward. 20 minute strike that can be solo'd, vs 2 and half hour commitment... how are those remotely similar? Because of this the clan is adamant that we will never do Guided Games again. Lag, and penalties for lag is fine and all, we get it, it's in beta. But all the pain, and wasted time, for the same reward as a nightfall. It's lazy and unacceptable.

Edited by Quiet_Bushi: 9/30/2017 3:42:25 PMWhat do you obtain completing a Guided Game with a positive feedback? A specific Reward?

Great post! Bungo needs to give more space for errors like this, especially with all the crashes that are occurring on PS4. Taking someone through a raid that requires excellent communication and coordination is not easy! Deej and Cosmo... this is a big one!

1 ReplyHow long does the oathbreaker debuff last?
-
Yep. Same thing happened to me the other night. Hour and a half wait. (Solo queue) Only to get kicked after the door phase. Then get penalized for it as well.

Right on I sometimes it's not your fault or u gotta leave like if one of your kids is out in the road or diahreah lols

It's good that you still helped him. If that was me you helped so much I would probably have asked to join your clan straight after
