Road Complex AA1 is offensive... really?
This is a bit ridiculous in my eyes. Firstly, the Kekistani movement is intended as a joke. It's a parody of identity politics as a whole, and is absolutely not a hate group. It's a made-up ethnicity intended to be a substitute for an oppressed class. It's meant to parody the use of someone's race or oppressed class as a buffer for their argument, because in reality one's race, gender, or religion does not affect the credibility of their argument one bit. And yes, it parodies white supremacy just the same as it parodies social justice warriors.
I don't understand how this is in any way a "hate group." It's just a little 4chan injoke that grew way too big until the people memeing it forgot its original meaning.
Bungie, don't become one of these skittish developers that always bows down to overzealous political correctness. There's no need to censor or change your game because it might accidentally offend someone's politics. Us fans just want you to deliver a fun experience that's exactly as the developers intended. Sure, you can say that it's [i]just one armor piece,[/i] but it's still substantial. It could have just as easily been that a beloved exotic was found to be "offensive" and had its visuals completely overhauled just to please angry politicals. I don't like this trend in gaming and I thought Bungie was better than this.

I may be risking a ban/warning here, but as far as i'm concerned anyone taking serious offense to the responsible move bungie made here should go play something else. 16 RepliesDoesn't matter what it's origins were it's used by some as a hate symbol now. And the people using it sure don't think it's a joke. Not sure why people are so against taking this down. It's funny people are bashing the PC for whining but all the whining i see are people mad it was taken down. I don't think anyone was complaining about it, Bungie just noticed it and decided to take it down, which was a smart move. In a day or two this will blow over and no one will care.

Many of you glommed on to the 'kekistan' movement because it made you feel like you were part of a group and that group was others, the 'sheeple', didn't 'get', and a lot of people in it actually do post and say fairly inoffensive stuff, even make fairly salient points, if rather buried beneath attempts at 'in' jokes the 'normies' wouldn't get. But the thing is a hell of a lot of people in that group do actually post the most horrendous crap and rightly or wrongly that's what grabbed people's attention and gave you all a bad name. Bungie and like companies are right in not wanting to be associated with those people in any way, shape or form, and you shouldn't want to be associated with them either. That's what it's about, who the co-opted symbology represents and if you want to be irritated with anyone maybe you should be irritated with the incredibly damaged individuals that used the stuff you like for horrendous crap but instead of accusing a section of a group you want to a part of it's easier to cast blame at the faceless corporation.

To me, all this change has done is advertise Bungie as a weak, mindless bunch of corporate stereotypes too thick-witted to look past idiotic "victim" narratives and see that Kekistan is an in-joke. The kind they used to make. Ever since they sacked their top brass at the launch of Destiny 1, I've had less and less trust for Bungie. I haven't bought the game yet, and am likely to do so on the recommendations of friends, but I can see this move alienating others like me into staying away, whilst the vapid SJW crowd who make these kind of complaints don't play Destiny anyway.
