I am debating buying Destiny 2, but really only want to play multiplayer. Don't really have much interest in the campaign (more for lack of time to play which always puts me way to far behind my friends). I had Destiny 1, and the problem with multiplayer seemed that the farther you were in the campaign, the bigger advantages you had in multiplayer. Does anyone know/think it would be possible and fun to just play destiny multiplayer without needing to continually grind the campaign? Or would that be dumb and I would be way too far behind gear wise to be fun/even? Just dont have time to keep up with my friends and its boring and gets difficult advancing by myself, but would love to play PVP with them if that makes sense. Thanks in advance.

2 RepliesEdited by monkeydancer: 8/31/2017 11:28:24 PMHow will you have any decent weapons if you don't do some pve? Also trials and iron banner unlock level advantages so you won't really be able to do much in those events with a low level and no weapons or armour. I know you get rewards in pvp but not as often or as good as pve.

No. Destiny is at it's core PvE with a PvP addition. PvP is in fact less than 10% of the game which a few over rate. If you want multiplayer to do activities (story, strikes, raid, ect) with friends Destiny is for you. If you want just PvP go play Overwatch, Rainbow 6, BF1, CoD, Titan Fall, ect.

no. and I'm a huge Destiny PvP player, but if you're gettign it just for PvP you'll be let down . try RB6 Siege for a PvP only experience.

3 RepliesEdited by RPColten: 8/29/2017 8:51:23 PMDo I think it will be possible to play mostly just the competitive multiplayer and still have a fair chance at success? If it follows Destiny 1's route, Crucible will only be unlocked after a certain level, so the player will most likely be inevitably required to play through some portion of the campaign before Crucible is available. I think however with Destiny 2 players are going to need to progress through various campaign elements to fully unlock their character and subsequently unlock their full potential for Crucible. Bottom line though, buy it for whatever reasons interest you. If you're worried that you won't get what you are most interested in, hold off and gather more information before coming to a final conclusion. I think if you are going to get Destiny 2 primarily for PvP, then be aware that you may be required to play through most if not all of the campaign to allow a fair experience in the Crucible.

1 ReplyIt'll be pretty hard to get better guns and armor if you only play Pvp, plus I think you need to play Pve to get the third subclasses

3 Repliesif you didnt play the campaign then how would you get new areas and gear?? and also destiny is pve game first and pvp is on the side

1 ReplyEdited by Devasstator: 8/29/2017 5:16:07 PMI definitely wouldn't buy it for just the PVP myself (though I don't even like the PVP in destiny) as you may get some loot drops but you're going to be at a disadvantage as it sounds like some complete PVE gear sets will enable other perks and there are more direct paths to get loot now. There WILL always be a rotating meta as it's part of bungies "longevity" or grind cycle so unless you grind PVE to stay current you will fall behind.

Edited by Milk: 8/29/2017 5:19:42 PMYou'd be missing out on half of the game, but that's your choice to make guardian.
