I watched Datto's stream for around 2h and i saw that the melee and nades still charge super slow? I'm sure that there will be perks and stuff but still we don't know anything about It.
I am talking about the PC beta.

1 ReplyHey, i had a nova bomb HALF way through a control match! That's twice as fast as the console beta. But yeah, still too slow. Grenades have to be much faster, they are needed to help with add control. You cant a; speed the enemies up, b, give them more hit-points, c lower our damage output AND d, slow down or abilities! Come on people!

11 RepliesThey will not change them for PvE because PvE & PvP share the same timers. It's Bungie's way of making both modes "feel" the same. The issue is, the only people who want slow boring timers are PvP Tryhards. So get used to it. PvE gameplay is an afterthought in Bungie's dream of PvP being an Esport.
-
5 RepliesYa ability recharge times are far too high. Bungie said it was slow because the damage was much greater, and there was supposed to be a bigger payoff for waiting for a longer recharge... But the "payoff" isn't noticeable, the grenades don't show any improvement over D1 or the last beta... and frankly in PvE, who even cares if something like that is a little OP? Using abilities in a game like Destiny is FUN, waiting to use them is not. I almost never want to use my grenade charge because I'll never know if/when I'll need it, but then again it's only useful for killing unshielded red bars anyway... Bungie, you NEED to let go of your misguided PvE/PvP philosophy of balancing them together.
-
1 ReplyNo they should not be sped up. That's why Destiny 1 is hated so much because of ability spam.
-
Bump. I will say this., Last night , a nade I was using with my Titan felt really good... but not so much with other types. But yeh. the timing needs to be lowered.

Remember that it is a beta meaming people dont have teir 12 sets yet, if you start a new character and grind your way back up youll find that the wait for grenades and melee charges is around the same without perks
-
1 ReplyI'll admit that I don't understand the fuss about grenade and melee ability cooldowns. I rarely used these in D1 PvE. Grenades will kill red bars but you can kill those in two or three shots with your primary anyway. Melee was even less used. I used the smoke ones when on my Nightstalker just for the invisibility, same with blink strike for Blade Dancer but that's about it. As for the whole "space magic" thing, if that's what you want, you should play Mass Effect. Now that's a game with space magic. Unleashing a vortex that lifts enemies helplessly off the ground and then making them explode with a lance of pure energy makes playing Destiny with its grenades and melees feel like Call of Duty.
-
1 ReplyMeh, I can understand that on PvP, but PvE becomes boring af.
-
Mad cuz bad and needs crutch lul
-
Good i dont wanna nbe hit with a grenade every 5seconds

Edited by blade329: 8/29/2017 5:23:47 PMOf course. Did you expect Bungie to push space magic in their space magic game? Come now, that would make way too much sense. That's like going to IHOP and expecting to order pancakes. That's just crazy talk. Everyone knows you go there for seafood. No they are pushing competitive team play with weak guns. It's just so exciting to play a slow Call of Duty/Halo with weak gear. Yee-haw!!!
-
I actually think it's perfect the way it is. I hated the ability spam in d1 and I believe they perfected the cooldowns in d2

6 RepliesEdited by The Outlaw Torn: 8/29/2017 11:38:47 AMThe grenade an melee cooldowns should be fixed like weapon perks. 25-30 seconds. This game is gonna be a -blam!-ing snorefest without abilities. They're what make the game fun. Let PvP die in a fire already. Nobody cares about that wannabe MLG crap. It's killing the franchise.

18 Repliesthese people talking about the slow CDs being good cause pvp needs to be all about guns kinda miss the point of Destiny. Destiny is a sci-fi fantasy games where you can shoot a gun made of fire and use a shield made of void or a stick made of salt. If people wanted just guns there are other options better suited in every way for that it doesn't belong in destiny.

19 RepliesAgain, I've been saying this till I've been blue in the face. Ability and super cooldown timers need to be slow, EVEN WITH gear to supplement their regen time. Its all because PVE and PVP share a unified sandbox AND the PVP is designed to force primary vs. primary gunplay. They aren't going to let you use other tools of destruction often in PVP, and because of that, PVE must ALSO suffer because they share the same tuning. Those who say gear will help are missing the picture. Yes, I'm sure gear will help. The question is HOW MUCH? And the answer MUST be that gear can't help that much, if at all, because if abilities regened faster in PVE, they would also regen faster in PVP and cause imbalance. The game was built from the ground up to make PVP play a certain way and there IS a threshhold of how fast they can make abilities/supers regenerate without drastically altering how PVP plays. And that threshhold will be the limit for ability regeneration speed in PVE. Beyond that, there is no really great counter for supers in particular in PVP. No special means there is no readily available OHK countermeasure. Rare heavy only obtainable by one person means only ONE person can counter supers on equal terms. Your own super availability is also a counter-measure, but one you can't count on having all the time. Ability damage was drastically weakened in PVP too. All these factors suggest that abilities will need to simply be RARE in PVP due to lack of a good counter. I'm not sure why people are shocked that ability timers are slow in D2. That was done by design and its not improving significantly because that is how the game was designed. If you don't like that, the only recourse you have is to not buy the game.

6 RepliesI love it!!! i love the fact that no one can spam the grenade and supers now... and it's more primary/secondary centered. Stop complaining lol.... use the primaries and secondaries more, and you won't have any problems... and now heavy weapons are limited to shotguns, snipers, rocket launchers, fusion, etc... it's the best PvP on Destiny ever. And grenades can no longer 1-shot people. Handcannons are OP AF!!!! i love theeem, yesterday i killed so many guys xD 25/27/32 kill matches ... learn how to aim and you gonna win.

Edited by Kildozer666: 8/30/2017 3:02:30 AMFix it, Bungie!!!
-
Supers seem okay. Maybe slightly faster. Grenades take forever and it's not worth the wait. Melee takes a bit, but not as long as Grenades. The class ability actually is pretty fast compared to the other two.
-
1 ReplyAnybody remember that thread with the fanboy/shill arguing what the word "subtle" meant? Now he knows.
-
Looked like about a minute. I've kinda just dismissed pvp until there is more than 4v4 but pve that's still pushing it except for supers to my patience. But I despise grenade cool downs as it is. I'd much rather pick them up to not worry about set times for them.

3 Replies...and primaries still look weak from the videos they have been showing. If I buy D2, I guess I can look foward to setting a world record on counting how many times I'll have to reload before a bullet sponge dies.
-
It will always be slow...because pvp cryhards want it slow.

4 RepliesEdited by Ch13F: 8/29/2017 3:53:12 PMi liked long cooldowns because i dont like spamming nades like in other shooters. those re strategic assets and should be used when you in dire need when the time is right.

1 ReplyGood.
