Lets all admitted, we're all pissed off about this.
this got nothing to do with destiny 2 being an esports title!
This got to do with all the crazy lagged from destiny 1 pvp.
we all knows about bad bungie's server was in destiny 1.
And this got to do with Activision, the money whore company.
bungie's server can not run 6v6 pvp so how do we fix it?
dedicated servers? we ain't paying for that, let's just make 4v4 pvp so there less lag.
really? Activision bungie ??? really ?? this is how you people fix your server ??
I got friends that play destiny with and now some of them gotta take a backseat
because you money whore cheap -blam!- won't give us dedicated servers and instead you make 4v4 pvp.
you think this will fix the 6v6 pvp lags??
I hope you destiny fans will stand up against this, as long there Activision, this will always happens.
pay more, get less.

I'm good with it though there should be something long term for a social 5v5-8v8 like Halo used to have but if not it's a solid option. it means more fireteams to play with and against. Just imagine how many more teams in D1 we could play against if it was 4v4.

1 ReplyNo we're not ALL pissed about this. That's you. You do not speak for the entire community. 4v4 is a good change imho.

I would play more pvp if it was more like 20 vs 20 or 30 vs 30. More players IS more fun. Small number teams are for tryhards, sweaty people and Trials Cheaters and pay for carry. Not for regular people who want to have Fun. You know the point of playing a GAME.

I'm not even a little upset about it. Speak for yourself...

You do realize that without Activision there is no Destiny? Bungie has a contract for 4 Destiny games with Activision. You can view the contract in its entirety because it was made public during the lawsuit over D1. Activision is not going anywhere; no matter how much the fans complain about them.

3 RepliesEdited by SmashvilleViking: 8/23/2017 5:03:00 AMYou think dedicated servers would fix the 6v6 lag? I don't think you understand that dedis wouldn't stop lag. There are many factors when dealing with dedis. Location of the server, location of the player, the connection between the server and the player, etc... Dedis aren't a fix all solution. A lot of the people that have lag issues now will still have issues with dedis.

The real reason for why they switched to all 4v4? Because Trials is 4v4. This is very simple. The complaint in D1 was that Trials was driving all of the balance changes for the entire game, even though only 10% of the player population played trials. This was a MAJOR issue because changes for a 3v3 mode do not necessarily work for 6v6 clash or 6v6 control, or even 3v3 skirmish. So instead of admitting that Trials just needs to be its own separate entity and balanced differently than everything else in the game, they effectively made EVERYTHING equivalent to Trials format, which is going to be 4v4. This will hide the fact that they fully intend on balancing the game, once again, around Trials players' demands. Now when they do it, they won't ever say "we're doing this for trials players." They can simply respond in kind that since everything is 4v4, there isn't any reason why a balancing patch for one 4v4 mode wouldn't be good for all 4v4 modes.

Because bungie is lazy to improve their netcode and get dedicated servers so instead they limit the number of nplayers

More maps plain and simple more maps

1 ReplyIt's funny that the old halo games are better in connectivity than destiny and it's p2p without any background servers
-
2 RepliesYep, Bungie's crap servers can't handle more then 8 players in Crucible, it's garbage👎🏻

Now what's the winning lotto ticket number?

I don't plan on playing it, but I think 4v4 will work good with some game types.
