It's just another dumb move by the developer to artificially increase the difficulty.
it serves absolutely no other purpose

Question: How do they not "artificially" raise the difficulty? They are literally creating the game, there's nothing natural about it.
-
you're trying to read into that statement too literally. It's artificially difficult because it's lazy. locking your equipment is lazy, reducing ability cooldowns is lazy, jacking up enemy health and lowering player damage is lazy, it doesn't make things harder it just makes things annoying and tedious
-
So as a professional game developer what do you recommend instead?
-
lol, that old tired line again. clearly you don't understand that I don't need to be a professional game developer to criticize the end product, it's either good or not good. by your line of argument if you're not a professional chef you can't critique the food you eat, if you're not a professional architect you can't critique a building or home design. It's just stupid imo. This argument is frankly ignorant imo, they are professional game developers, if it's not easy and routine at this point they need to be fired because they are incompetent. this is their JOB.

Edited by TheLegs41: 8/24/2017 6:42:49 PMAny moron can critique something, but that doesn't mean that they should. Your freedom to say something doesn't mean everyone is obligated to listened to you. If you are taking someone's opinion on something, would you listen to a professional who is experienced in the field or some random guy on the internet that doesn't even know how to capitalize letters? The only ignorant one here is you.

ohhhh, lmfao...now we are insulting my grammar and punctuation? hey kid, this is an internet forum, not an AP style paper, get over it you pretentious ass. Any moron can get offended and pissy about someone with a differing opinion too, this whole brief conversation with you is proof of that. What does having a professional opinion have to do with any of this conversation? I think they are lazy and taking the easy way out, as usual with Bungie the last 3 years., that seems to get your panties all in a bunch, which, let me tell you, pleases me to no end. I don't need to know how to code or program a game to recognize lazy, sloppy work, just like you don't need an engineering degree to notice that your house is falling over. if you're going to come to Bungies defense, at least pick a better argument then "Well you can't personally do better!" because that's pure idiocy.

How else do you suggest they increase difficulty? Make your gun require you to solve a riddle before you can shoot? I think you're trying to create a conflict where there isn't one. It's not lazy to make these kinds of small changes, it's smart. If they were to make major changes to game mechanics for the simple reason of increasing difficulty, then people would complain that they changed the game too much. And that's where the real problem lies, this community's pickiness. "We want a more difficult game!" "No not like that! Change the game up!" "WTF you changed the game too much!"
