EDIT: Apparently, some people thought I meant all players with low grimoire scores, but I was actually referring to all of the late joiners who just started playing the game and Day 1 players (who left the game and just now came back).
I've noticed a significantly large number of players (at least on the Xbox One version of Destiny) that have really low grimoire scores and I just can't wrap my head around why some people would buy this game (or the DLCs) when Destiny 2 is less than a month away from launching.
There isn't enough time to do everything in the game, so what's the point? Plus, almost nobody will help them with raids because they don't know how they work and the veteran players won't take the time to help them.
If your response is going to be something like "they heard good things about the game" or something that implies that they suddenly became interested in the game, then answer this: Why didn't they buy the game (or the DLCs) earlier? After Rise of Iron was released, people could buy all of the DLCs for $30, so why spend it now?

5 Replies"Why arent there as many losers as me? Why arent there more people who focus on playing video games all day long instead of focusing on real life? Why havent people been playing since day 1 like me? The greatest gamer in the whole world? I just don't understand why people dont live on video games like i do, trying to get a number that literally means absolutely nothing."

1 ReplyGrimoire doesn't matter, not on the slightest. Just another stupid stat that people try to use to divide the player base into good vs not good.
-
Edited by OopsYourself: 8/19/2017 6:16:04 PMA ton of grimoire is tied to collecting dead ghosts, calcified fragments, and siva clusters, and collecting them is one of the most boring time wasters in any video game I've played. You could probably complete everything in the game (before trials etc ended) and wind up around 4500ish if you didn't collect the other stuff. I just never really saw the point of wasting that much time for little reward, so my grimoire is pretty low even though I completed everything possible in the game.

To get the feel for destiny before D2 hit so your not rusty. Only reason I'm playing D1 again.

It's not like they are going to shut down the d1 servers when d2 is released.

6 RepliesEdited by mayo68: 8/19/2017 12:33:58 PMI've been here from the start and I'm not even at 5k. Not enough Gilmore available for blowing shit up, I guess.

Didn't read respones, can only speak for myself - it's nothing i ever gave a -blam!- about, just happened without any effort or thought while doing what I wanted to do. Apparently, there are a great number of things I could have farmed for. BFD

5 RepliesCause I stopped caring about collecting cards back in the 80's when baseball and football cards came with gum. GUM!!!!! Not some stupid lore. GUM!!!!! GUUUMMMM!!!!!! Let the grimore cards give me gum. Then I'll care.

A lot of people are making alt accounts including myself. It's been kinda fun playing through the story again and getting excited when an exotic engram drops.
-
Some people probably just want to get a look at destiny before they play the sequel. It's not like it's expensive at this point, anyway.
-
3 RepliesNew accounts due to bans maybe? Or they want to understand the world before D2 launches? Or, this is the kicker, they're free to spend there money as they see fit, even on a game that will be dead in a couple weeks.
-
Yeah i have noticed a large influx of new players on Ps4 as well.

The Collectors Edition is on sale here in the UK (Where I am anyways) for £14.99. I deterred 2 people from buying it the other day when I was buying Crash N. Sane Trilogy. Told them it's a final crash grab from a dead game company before the rehashed version comes out next month. They didn't need much convincing when I pointed out Destiny 2 was coming out in a few weeks.

People generally still think that when a game is sitting on the shelf for sale, they can buy it and play that game and "beat it". The fact that it is no longer being updated does nothing to diminish that it has a decent amount of hours of play. My daughter recently started D1 since she has matured a bit and she is having a blast playing through all the missions.

Simple. There's no point in chasing after dead Ghosts when you have to step away from your game to find out what those Ghosts actually have to offer in terms of knowledge. As opposed to literally hundreds of games that have a Codex or a Bestiary or Compendium or... something. Literally anything would have sufficed for Destiny, but nope. Let's artificially inflate hits on our website by partially implanting the game into it, that'll attract people to visit. Did I say attract? I meant force.

Been max grimoire 4 a long time.
-
3 RepliesWell there are many reasons why but here's a list of the basic reasons 1: the person in question is a solo player and has no life 2: some items were locked behind areas that are sony exclusive 3: some items were behind raids 4: some people just don't care about it 5: impossible task that was designed for a minority within the destiny community 6: quest lines that were impossible to finish 7: pvp events that some people could not complete or did not care about I know there's a lot more reasons why but this will have to do for now.

4 RepliesI could delete all characters now and have all activities on all 3 done in a week

16 RepliesWhat's considered a low score?
-
It's not that most veteran players won't help them it's that they don't listen and they don't take the time to do research. I used to help but I stopped because of how much time I wasted waiting for some guy to do it right. I'll try in D2 though.

You could save 15% on car insurance by switching to Geico.
That's always the right answer.
-
It's a fairly pointless stat that's why. Always has been.
-
1 Reply5590 I'm only missing annoying crucible shit rumble, Doubles, Salvage and Skirmish. Don't need it be max anyway. As for anyone lower that 4500, well maybe they took a break, played other games had a life? *shrugs*. Most are probably secondary / alternate accounts. Doesn't matter really.

I had the game at year 1 on my PS3 played it before the taken King was released and then sold my PS3. I just recently got a ps4 and wifi so I was like even though destiny 2 is about to be released let me get it again and play what I haven't played

Year 3 Christmas noobs

Speaking for me personally, I played year one on xbox starting with the beta, took off most of year 2, then started over on PS4 around RoI. Some things you just can't be bothered to re-accomplish.
