You teased me with the beta!
Which I must say, now that the dust has settled, was really great. I think the gunplay, and more strategic elements to the PVP environment, has made a tremendous difference in accessibility for a number of players. I had gotten a little burned out on Destiny 1 PVP; I was searching for simpler times - more map control, more team shooting, less supers. Feels Good, Man.
I feel that more care in terms of map symmetry was also displayed. While not exact mirrors on the mid-line of the maps, the flow of the combat and map movement felt cleaner and more in-line with current FPS standards. The couple of maps we did get to play were great, and I will be playing more.
The campaign mission we played felt finely tuned. After catching a boot to the face, I felt a need for immediate vindication. I wanted to save the Traveler, find not-Peter Dinklage, and crush the Cabal uprising. Maybe my expectations come in at a lower tier than everyone else, I mean I am old, I opened an NES for my 6th birthday in 1988 and absolutely lost my shit. I have no patience or attention span when it comes to bad games these days; I honestly have a good feeling about Destiny 2.
The strike was fun and fairly challenging at the light level we beta's at. I felt the dynamic map environments added a great deal to the experience - falling floors, and vex milk, and what have you. Solid showing and teaser, Bungie. You old salty dogs.
September 6th can't come fast enough - or maybe it can. I guess I'll just take a few deep breaths and enjoy some time outside during these cool August weeks. Because Lord Shaxx knows I'll be resembling a derro dwarf 3 or so months after the release.
Happy Trails, everyone.

..... Bread... Crumbs.. Off topic but... Destiny 1 maps confirmed?? Or redskins I want a much dreary more scary ominous tone even melancholy vive to D2 like for real.. Honestly like it's a game where people dye every second. We need some touch heartwarming tone to the game not all bs action that has not even a base for it being enjoyable if you don't put its counterpart of solemn sadness in a world so torn by destruction and a beautiful past that may never be again. I want missions where I feel emotionally connected to the game with orchestra filling my bones full of nostalgia but not for desiring old maps but what the world in it was. Then filled with the wrath a real guardian would have to want to actually push themselves to be motivated to save the world from destruction.... Allllll lol Ll the trailers have been pushing adventures and fun how about humanity... People aren't always in action or happy we all feel sad now and then. These trailers pushing the games action and fun forget how if it's all fun then non is fun you must balance it with the actual reality that.. Destiny's world is painful its sad and it can be human... And we can actually connect but the developers ha e shoved fun so far up their asses they forget how sadness feels maybe it's their millions or their greed that lends them to not see that living life is sad and so is in destiny. I'm not saying make it all boring sad I'm saying balance is what will make the game come alive and not just have a forgetful history such as of vanilla. Make destiny great. Not again just Idk kill cade off -blam!- it kill of the speaker.. Just make it right and make it have a reasons let those who invested over 2000 plus and I know it's plus hours actually come to a point where they drop the control and feel actual sadness.. Sadly bungie aren't great story tellers or will they be Idk d2 isn't out I just hope they aren't just plain old everyday sensationalists because that's not art that's just shit on a stick. Fun until you realize it's actually shit. Give destiny life...

10 RepliesNo! Take all the time needed to polish the game, don't do a Destiny repeat. I mean, development is pretty much done, so what it is now is what it will be on release, but don't fudge it up please Bungie. I'd rather them say it's delayed until October than get an unfinished dumpster fire.

30 RepliesLol, your old? I was 11 when you opened up that NES.........1977 Baby!!!

5 RepliesThis brave soul has earned my upmost respect... no you don't have low expectations you just are a person excited about destiny 2 with reasonable expectations. Everyone else has unrealistic expectations such as perfect pvp balancing or they dislike their Subclass or they unhappy with mute guardians. There's more good to talk about with this game than there is bad.

They are still herding chickens.

3 RepliesI'm just looking forward to not getting killed by a crutch stickie after I've outplayed someone and got them to one shot. There's going to be a LOT of complaints about crucible now that people have lost their crutches!

5 RepliesEdited by Golden: 8/8/2017 4:18:28 AMI mean I want it released too but I also would like them to work on it more. They need to listen to the smart part of the community (which is little)

Yeah I find myself everyday thinking about Destiny 2. Constantly looking up news about it, watching all the gameplay I can, trying to make it through these dog days of summer. The hype train is real. All my friends and I are ready to play. September 6th really can't come soon enough. I know that friday night on the 8th I'm gonna get a 20 ounce Redbull, order a pizza, and play from when I get home from work until most likely 5am the next day 😂 no shame. I'm that excited.

6 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 8/8/2017 6:07:27 AMI always find it interesting to see gamers interact on this forum like they been on here for a while. What's interesting is your profile shows you haven't been on here in almost a year, with the exception of two replies within the last couple months. The strick was a speed run, don't know where you got the challenging from unless you call reloading your primary multiple times a challenge. Just looking at video, actually a few that showed how easy it was to just run pass everything to get to the end to fight a spung. Not impressed... PvP was slow and boring and using blink as a Titan just didn't work. It was actually quite comical knowing our Guardians are supposed to have uniqueness about them that separates one from the other. Then there is the warlock that throws a hammer now? I guess swapping supers between characters is called a "new class" The weapons were so watered down it was pointless thinking, do I want to torture myself and look for something that actually worked. Not... Movement was way slow and using my Titan trying to do a slide felt like I was being cut short. I can picture my Titan putting his hands down on the ground scooting his butt on the ground to at least feel I finished the slide. Gliding in the air I felt like a hot air balloon. The little mission was to short and felt empty. Was using a HC and looked at the art work and it looked like I was holding something flat. I really hope this isn't how all the HC look like lol. The beta was a mess and showed how there wasn't much thought put into it.

1 ReplyI would be surprised if anyone on here knows what a Derro Dwarf is. I actually still have the Monster manual with the referance LOL. God my mind is filled with useless crap.
-
2 RepliesReady yourself for disappointment... D2 may turn out to be a decent game, but not until 2019; after 8 $20-$30 DLCs, a ton of miscommunication and numerous undesired/unnecessary nerfs. They will make this mistake again

7 RepliesLet's just get one thing straight. If you were 6 in 1988 you aren't old. Have a heart, I graduated high school in '85.

7 RepliesSo awesome to see someone else that's super stoked for this to release. Honestly I can't remember the last time I was so excited to dig into a new game. I loved the beta and am excited to see where the new story takes us! See ya in D2 guardian!

Man, I look at my calendar every day when I get into the office and count the days left, then I count the resets left and how close we are to the next reset I can cross off my calendar. Never in my life had I imagined that I would be this excited about a video game.
