Should I get mods for Skyrim: Special Edition (XB1)
I am currently debating whether or not I should enable mods in Skyrim. Doing this of course will disable achievements, so it's either more fun (I'm only installing quality of life, graphics, and minor tweak mods) or more gamerscore.
Anything to set me straight would be nice!

Which reminds me.
I'm one of those people that don't have as much time as others, and since Skyrim is one of those big games that can take a while to fully "complete", that's something I'm not sure I'll invest in.

Mods enhance the playability alot, mostly because it's a five year old game.

Hey now, if you're gonna use mods don't restrict yourself right out the gate to just QoL stuff. Go through the whole list, some people make some really clever shit that you'd never expect to want. You can also make an insane focus on your RP, like how I always tell people I'm obsessed with Vampire mods. I've got tiers to vampirism and feeding is actually useful. Can turn into mist, sense enemies by heartbeat provided they are living, fly in Vamp Lord form, etc. I also downloaded a mod like a week ago allowing me to be a werewolf and a Vampire Lord at the same time, complete with a hybrid "race" and both powers and abilities from the two separate forms. Favorite mods always come down to the insane houses people create. You've got your clever hidden caves and homes, you've got your magical homes with invisible floating walkways, you've got your large castles with secret passageways in the wall.. so much to do. Get. Mods.

If you won't invest in completing Skyrim then definitely get mods. Skyrim is easy to get platinum (dunno what that is on Xbox) anyway so you'll do it eventually anyway.

1 ReplyWith onyx spartan on this one, unless you really, [i]really[/i] care about the Gamerscore, just install mods and enjoy Skyrim. There are tons of cool mods out there, which raise the playing experience by an infinite amount. The Gamerscore aren't really important there (though I'm the opinon they go rather fast too).

3 RepliesI say go with the mods. If you just want to enjoy the game for what it is, then playing with the mods you mentioned will be your best option. Besides, there are some pretty cool mods for weapons and armor also.

One for mod splurging, not caring about progression, and the other save for an unmodded playthrough with trophies enabled. As far as time investment goes - completing Skyrim's main story doesn't take insanely long...it's if you're doing all the DLC+exploration+achievements that would add on a lot of hours. And if you don't care about the achievement/completion aspect, mods are a good choice. To fight boredom, maybe avoid the "cheat" mods that spoil the game's progression (like those treasure chest mods that have all the best gear). Download cool mods and enjoy it if you can't dedicate time for two separate playthroughs.

Whatever gives you more pleasure. I've never been vain enough to give half a damn about achievements or any kind of Gamerscore.
