Based on the menus it looks like...
...we're going to be able to use mods to switch the element of our weapons.
...we're going to be able to use shaders on our weapons and ship.
2 things people have been asking for in Destiny for ages, but no everything is terrible and Bungie never listens to us, that's the big takeaway from all this.
EDIT 1: Slugger4489 brought up some more.
Fast travel points, not having to go to orbit between every jump, and guaranteed public events too
EDIT 2: It seems a lot of people here don't understand the point I'm trying to get at. I'm not making any statement about how good or bad I think Destiny 2 will be and I'm not saying people shouldn't voice their concerns. This post is targeted at a very specific mentality that many forum users have held for a long time now and which has been a major contributing factor to these forums becoming as toxic as they are.
This idea that Bungie never listens to us and doesn't care about what we think has to stop. There is so much evidence that they do. Just to name a few things these forums asked for that we got:
- Multiple vault size increases.
- Equitable melee weapons.
- Ways of making old content relevant again (infusion, revamped raids, etc.).
- Private PvP.
- A freaking giant Shank boss. (honestly who would've thought they'd take that one seriously?)
and there has been so much more. But time and time again in the wake of problems impacting the game everyone seems to ignore the positive and pretends that everything is awful and there's no chance for improvement and Bungie is intentionally trying to ruin the game for us and bla blabla blabla.
All I wanted to do was put a spotlight on a couple things I thought Bungie did right by this community in the hopes that maybe some people would see that there are some positive things to talk about, that's all.

5 RepliesI am sure that shaders on weapons and ships are great but I would much rather have had effective weapons even if they looked a little battered and worn Umm I wonder if Eververse will sell us shaders for those items ?
-
Seems like gun frame and ammo type is changeable also
-
I just don't think you should applaud Bungie for doing what every reasonable person expects from a sequel.
-
15 RepliesThey add these and take away subclass customization... the bad things outweigh the good unfortunately
-
Vault Size increases: Now totally Irrelevant in D2 since there are No RNG weapon perks - everyone will have the exact same set of 10 guns. Private PVP: confirmed as not coming forward for D2 'listening to us' doesn't count if they give us nice things only to take them away shortly after. In fact being an 'indian giver' is kinda worse than not doing anything in the first place, big insulting slap in the face.....

4 RepliesCosmetics don't make game play better

Dead on!!! Haters are crybabies
-
2 RepliesI know! I was talking to my friends about this because I was so hyped and they just blew it off. Started talking about how crucible sucks.
-
Ya'll know if less people play, we'll have a harder time getting connected in LFG and in crucible, right? You know if less people play, we'll get a game that isn't as good, right?

11 RepliesEdited by Dr Leo 92: 7/25/2017 6:14:34 AMWow weapon mods to switch elements and shader I mean that's a game changer. Remember when random perk for weapons and different elements on secondary weapons were a thing? D1 remembers. They better have a ton of new weapons otherwise the game life will be very short.

Edited by BlindLuck: 7/25/2017 9:12:51 AMWasn't this already known? I could be wrong but that's why I'm talking about beta experiences instead of cosmetics

16 RepliesIt's not that I haven't noticed these things. It's just that the bad outweighs the good. Like how annoying it is that Eververse is going to be in D2 from day 1 and that obviously emotes will be getting sold. Why emotes didn't transfer from D1 is beyond me. Anyways there's just to much I know for D2 that is basically killing it. I understand Bungie not wanting to reveal their entire game, but they need to reveal MORE. I would like to know the extent of character customization.

Every time bungie gives something, they always take something in return. It's just how things seem to work with them.
-
12 RepliesSmall quality of life changes do not a good game make. Developers should prioritize big issues first and smaller ones later.
-
Too little, too late. Three -blam!-ing years too late.
-
Yeah, 2 things that should have been there day one. Not going to bend over for Bungie over that.
-
Why shall i care when the game is already watered down and the fun is gone. For me D2 is a the new Division unless Bungie decides to make major changes which will require tiime to do. Additionally colours etc.. is not something i look forward. I am an old dude , i cate for guns and if they are good or bad. Guns worked terrible in D2 so i have no more interest playing/paying a half ass game again.

5 RepliesYeah, I agree that they are implementing a lot of good changes in D2, but unfortunately there's a least the same amount of negative changes they are making at the same time. It's great that we have weapon shaders, we can fast travel, we have this new clan system, and we have a better, longer story, but we no longer have randomly rolled weapons, subclass customization, a secondary slot, pvp diversity such as 3v3, 6v6, free for all, or BTB, and private matches. I know the game hasn't released yet and we don't know everything, but from the news we've heard and from playing the beta, it feels like everytime they take one step forward, they decide to take two steps back. I want to praise the good changes they've made in the game, but I just can't overlook all the negatives that they have created.

Edited by TheCyo: 7/25/2017 8:45:10 AMI commenting on this funny situation in multiple post. The idea some ppl seem to have is that a temp at Bungie fiddled around with the numbers of weapons, movement, recovery, grenades and supers and they made it somehow into the Beta without the upper echelons at Bungie noticing. And after the Beta was release, Bungie found out and now they will reset it to the proper state. This is of course horseshit. Balancing a game takes months. Even simple things like let's increase the damage on guns: How does this influence the kills per minute in pvp, the length of matches, the average scores, are maps now to small, are boss fights in pve to easy and so on. But listening to comments it is just oh they just have to change some numbers. The Beta shipped with the vision Bungie has for how gameplay should work in D2. There was no mistake. #notmydestiny

I bet even some the negative things are not actually as bad as they seem because we don't know yet exactly how this games meta is yet, sure we had the beta to get a taste but apparently the beta is just a months old build of the actual game and the launch will feel much different than the beta well..HOPEFULLY
-
they listen. they get feedback. BUT it is a big shame that they decided to implement these features in Destiny 2 to help its sales (hey grandma look! with destiny 2 u can do this and that! with destiny 1 you cannot!) and not in any of the multiple DLCs of destiny 1. Shame.

Asking this community to be positive? Seriously impossible

3 RepliesNot to mention 52 base game cutscenes

Edited by wilco490: 7/25/2017 7:58:48 AMI noticed it😉.. All in all it looked good to me, except for some tweaking needed for the things most people allready mentioned. But thats why they call it a beta. They needed feedback from all of us to finetune it before final release. It might be good not to compare it to much to D1 i think. Its a "new" game, and in time we will adapt to the new situation and have both fun and frustration about some things anyway. I bought waaay worse games in the past😁

9 RepliesEdited by Milk: 7/25/2017 12:22:49 AMI hope they have pink shaders so I can have a pink gun and pink armor and be the barbie girl I always knew I could be!

I get your post and do like the stuff they are doing with the variance in shaders and possible element mods but..... For me it should have been.... Let us keep the fun stuff we have and add what we asked for and not Take away the fun stuff we have and give us a morsel of what we have been asking for the last 2 years.
