Based on the menus it looks like...
...we're going to be able to use mods to switch the element of our weapons.
...we're going to be able to use shaders on our weapons and ship.
2 things people have been asking for in Destiny for ages, but no everything is terrible and Bungie never listens to us, that's the big takeaway from all this.
EDIT 1: Slugger4489 brought up some more.
Fast travel points, not having to go to orbit between every jump, and guaranteed public events too
EDIT 2: It seems a lot of people here don't understand the point I'm trying to get at. I'm not making any statement about how good or bad I think Destiny 2 will be and I'm not saying people shouldn't voice their concerns. This post is targeted at a very specific mentality that many forum users have held for a long time now and which has been a major contributing factor to these forums becoming as toxic as they are.
This idea that Bungie never listens to us and doesn't care about what we think has to stop. There is so much evidence that they do. Just to name a few things these forums asked for that we got:
- Multiple vault size increases.
- Equitable melee weapons.
- Ways of making old content relevant again (infusion, revamped raids, etc.).
- Private PvP.
- A freaking giant Shank boss. (honestly who would've thought they'd take that one seriously?)
and there has been so much more. But time and time again in the wake of problems impacting the game everyone seems to ignore the positive and pretends that everything is awful and there's no chance for improvement and Bungie is intentionally trying to ruin the game for us and bla blabla blabla.
All I wanted to do was put a spotlight on a couple things I thought Bungie did right by this community in the hopes that maybe some people would see that there are some positive things to talk about, that's all.

2 RepliesPrivate pvp like private matches at launch?

9 RepliesWhat no one is talking about is that there are no new grenades or melee attacks in a brand new game

2 RepliesIt appears they have made the same fatal underlying fundamental flaw with D2 by not separating PVP and PVE. The whole balancing act approach is lazy programming which erodes and ruins the gaming experience. What a shame, as I had hoped they truly learned from D1. D2 will just be lipstick on a pig.

3 RepliesOh and can we get a barber at the Farm? Please:)

5 RepliesYay, more ways to dress up my my space dollies. What's that? My guns and abilities suck and the whole game is trying to be CoD? I don't care, as long as my loading screen and action figures are pretty.

1 ReplyYou're forgetting these are necessary features

10 RepliesI'd like to see cosmetic armor options. Let's say you see an armor set you really like, but this other one has the stats that you want. So you equip the armor with the right stats, but you can make it look visually like the other set that you wanted. I've thought of a few ways this could work. A separate menu screen (or just separate slots) where you can "equip" gear and it will change the visual of the armor, similar to how shaders work (at least in Destiny 1). Or a menu you can look through to change it to something you've unlocked, and to unlock it, you have to get the gear and maybe have to dismantle it to get it (possibly with a chance to unlock, like 25% or so, maybe lower for raid or exotic gear). Just a thought I had. I think it would greatly please the aesthetic portion of the community.

5 RepliesPersonally I'm surprised so few people have commented on the new enemy types. The Cabal alone have gotten 3, and existing enemies have been revamped so much that they feel new. The War Beasts are like 4-legged thrall, but with actually decent health pools. The Gladiators are like mini Valus Mau'uals, minus the jump pack (though they seem to be equipped with them, maybe this was taken out later in development). Incindors and their flamethrowers are something I always felt the Cabal were missing. The Fallen also got the "Wretch" enemy type, basically a Dreg with a hood that walks and runs low to the ground, climbs along walls and utilises cloaking. For a race of scavengers and pirates, I think this fits the Fallen perfectly. No new Vex yet, but they've probably got a few tricks up their sleaves. I can't wait to see what the Hive have in store for us.

There's no reason to talk about any of those things because they do not suck -- people criticize the things that need criticizing, so Bungie knows they've failed at a particular thing.
-
Probably because bungie knows at this point something is good if people aren't complaining at them and people have more reason to say what they want changing rather then what they don't.

7 RepliesI didnt realise you could access the director from "land" so you dont need to go to orbit. the player roster is also hidden there when you hit the button to bring out ghost i dont mind the two primaries, but i dont like having to choose between having a shotgun or rocket launcher. (although ive not seen a RL in the beta so i hope they are still there!) I just hope there is enough unique content to keep me busy. no one wants to run the same 5 strikes over and over and over. when the game launches everyone will be skipping the inverted spire strike now

I was just about to make a post about this.
The luckiest seven you will ever meet
As I always say, people unhappy with something will always make their voices heard. It also doesnt help that these are relatively minor things compared to the other things in D2. That said, I'm looking forward to these things. It'll be awesome to be able to apply your own shaders to those awesome looking ships/guns/specific armour peices that have a bad paint job/scheme.

16 RepliesIt's called negativity bias, and you'll never get away from it. It's hard wired into our brain for survival. Being able to remember bad things more than good things on an emotional level helps us avoid the bad and keep us happy. So overall, is it as bad as some people say? Probably not, but those people still won't enjoy it, even if you point out all the positives.

Because haters are salty
-
it also looks like you will be able to equip shaders on each piece of armor. finally.
-
1 ReplyWe can do that already. The difference is that we just carry the same gun with a different name and color. They just got rid of that BS and made it easier for them this way

I'm surprised no one is talking about the fact that the main villain, Ghaul, looks and sounds like Bane.
