So what do you lot think has been the most iconic franchise so far this generation? I don't just mean new IPs, hence The Witcher's presence (I haven't tried it myself, couldn't get into the first two, but there's no denying it's been very popular, and was critically acclaimed).
Basically a mixture of quality, unique design, and popularity. So the first two criteria disqualify the likes of Call of Duty and FIFA, for example.
Or for a dictionary definition:
very famous or popular, especially being considered to represent particular opinions or a particular time.
I'm going to go with Destiny. Overwatch is close behind.

3 RepliesI don't think it's Overwatch because Overwatch is a Blizzard game and Blizzard games are so closely identified with the PC. For all its flaws Destiny is one of the games that will be identified with this generation. You can see bits of it permeating into other series. It is very much to the Xbox One and PS4 what Call of Duty was to the 360 and PS3. The Witcher? I don't think so because it wasn't a series that debuted and is closely tied to the release of the current generation consoles.
