All this "It's a beta!" nonsense needs to stop
Do those saying this even know what an actual beta is? It is a preview of the product looking for feedback on it before the final paid version is released. And this is what people are doing on this forum (because unlike with actual beta, BungIe did not provide a specific place to leave feedback).
Stop telling people to not do the very thing they they are supposed to be doing. It's not like people are asking for drastic changes to the game seven weeks from release.

8 RepliesIf they are complaining about the beta not having enough content, then the “it’s a beta” is a solid argument. It’s only a snippet of the whole game. And they announced what was available beforehand. If they are complaining about actual gameplay issues, then “it’s a beta” is stupid. Gameplay and mechanics carry on to the full release and should be fixed before it.

This beta has more technical issues to fix than usual for Bungie. It's less polished. They usually only have stress testing the servers to use the Beta for, mostly. They don't typically change game design choices, they do at least try to make sure it runs/functions/works well. At least they don't end the beta before they get it working. Cough cough, Evolve, cough cough. Really set off red flags for me when they didn't extend the PS4 beta until matchmaking wasn't broke as -blam!-. That's when I decided not to pre order Evolve. The Destiny 2 servers at least work and will be improved by beta's end.

Bungie says in TWaB that this build was finished months ago for the beta and that several changes have already been made. This is not the same experience that we will be getting at launch. They've also stated numerous times that this beta is intended as a stress test for the changes they've made to their infrastructure. Calm your tits ppl!!

I am a little confused as currently the feedback has me steering clear if this game...I will try the beta but as Bungie said in the TWAB it is an old version...are they doing more harm than good??? So are we getting a more up to date version in the form of a demo that we can play prior to purchase after release?

Actually it's called a "Beta Test" yes some developers do appreciate general gameplay feedback during these testing phases. They are actually to test net code and have a mass of people try a product to possibly find a bug that was overlooked. What you are defining as a beta is more known as a early preview. Betas are to find bugs not to decide whether you could make a better game. Too much residual salt on these forums from us getting -blam!-ed in destiny 1. This beta feels way more polished then a lot of games in circulation these days. Guns feel smooth and identifiable from how they fire. Not graphical tearing no lag or centepede errors.

2 Replieswhy not give a survey or poll on things for feedback for the community lets say 7 months beforehand so bungie will know what people dont want to give them enough to change some things or how about before they make the game. it looks like bungie made the game the way they wanted to and was not interested in feedback. the feedback part of the forum is just for show like saying "ya we are listening but acctually we are not."

i agree, and someone at bungie needs to understand what a beta really is. They really need to put out a true beta and see what people think of the game as a whole.

[/quote] That's not entirely what a beta is for, but it definitely isn't what this beta is for. It's a test. They're testing the servers, the matchmaking, login queues, sign-in, and their internal processes for releasing a game.

It's true. Most actual betas are almost finished builds and you have near total access. A demo is one or two snippets to tease you about content so you buy the final release. Honestly, the only reasons why they call it beta is because you have network access and people who think they took part in the games development are more likely to purchase it..

I think what most people are trying to get across is that you shouldn't lose your mind over anything you don't like in the beta since it might change. You and I both know this community has a tendency to overreact to the nth degree. Saying "it's a beta" just means that what you're seeing is not necessarily a good representation of what the game will actually be like. Please provide constructive feedback.

If you look at all the rage on how these changes "ruined" the game, you would think these same people weren't whining about Destiny 1. I honestly think being enraged is the real game people like to play these days.
