Power Weapons...
With the introduction of power weapons, and the movement of sniper rifles from the special slot to the power slot, I have to say that I am extremely excited for The Crucible now that entire teams can't sit back in the corner and snipe for the entire match.
That is all.

It's fine with me, the majority of my kills is primary----but is the fun going to be sucked out of PVP? I think it will. Will see?

19 RepliesWhy can't they? Once one person gets ammo, they fall back and defend the power ammo for their teammate. With the decreased spawn rate and single person ammo drop, an actual team could easily hog the power ammo

2 RepliesSniping in any FPS game is a huge fun factor, unfortunately it has become too easy and appeals to the masses bc of tons of aim assist and broken hit boxes. I'm not happy about what they are doing with snipers on D2 but I am optimistic that the game will still be fun.

1 Replyon a day to basis, PvE gets more players than PvP. Designing the balance, and guns around this seems like a terrible idea. PvE gets screwed by PvP on a constant basis in D1. what happens when the game is designed around PvP in D2 Don't care about PvP at all. Maybe I can get a 50% rebate

4 RepliesBah, it's terrible for PvE. Once again they are letting PvP be the entire direction of the game, which I think is a mistake. I'm a big PvP guy myself, but this isn't what I wanted.. I am betting it is for one or two big reasons: 1. Their devs are big time PvP guys. 2. A more PvP centric game means they don't have to release as much content to appease the masses. A few more maps, some more weak gear and wa-la, the PvP guys are happy. The PvE guys are going to want more story, missions, campaign, etc. Much more work.

The new weapon loadouts remind me of halo reach for some reason. Kind of like power weapons (snipers, grenade launchers, rockets, etc) were used by the teams who had better map control. FWIW, I am curious to see how it plays out.

I really don't know what to think. I'm gonna assume that the power ammo will work like it did in the reveal for every game mode. A part of me thinks it is good for competetive play and it seems balances. The other part of me completely hates it. Getting a nice snipe, a shotgun kill or a fusion kill feels so much more satisfying than getting a primary kill.

Huh. I heard something about this a while back but this just reminded me. Guaranteed though there's going to be another new crutch weapon popping up within 2-3 days of crucible being up and running, so... That said, I'm wondering myself how each match will play out now.

I do have to say it has been hilarious to watch 4 snipers bump and push each other out of the lane in an effort to get the perfect shot lol. oh and of course the fist of havoc for a few easy kills.

Yeah but now that they've introduced linear fusion rifles I can't snipe you with those either 😉 Big maps are going to be very interesting. Scout rifle domination!
