Haha every time more news comes out the more and more the game loses interest to me
PVE'rs, how do y'all feel about this?

1 ReplyI'm sure there will be plenty of grinding. We will grind good content with paths to our items (hopefully) Rng is also fun, but rng for every single thing & the weapon/armor, & each perk, is lazy & poor quality imo. It's not a cell phone game

Don't care

Don't think that all set rolls are going to be PvP based. These set rolls could be specifically for PvE purposes as well. ~TheGreatNike

Edited by Vesiah Matauss: 7/4/2017 1:14:42 AMStill have to grind to get exotics or a specific gun or armour
-
2 RepliesI'm going to agree with what fookr said. It is going to be more along the lines of hunting for certain guns than hunting for certain rolls on certain guns. I don't think that's a bad thing inherently as long as they have enough variety of guns archetypes with various perks.

5 RepliesSo as much as we ALLhated the RNG in this game am I actually seeing people defend it going into D2? Artificially inflate my playtime the first time shame on my addictive personality. Not artificially inflating my playtime the second time around gets them a check mark for once.

2 RepliesRemoving random perks doesn't eliminate RNG or grinding. There will likely be numerous re skinned versions of the same weapon with minor differences in perks and stats. The advantage is that drops can be reduced so not as much time dismantling garbage and with individual weapon stat control, shittier perk weapons will probably have better stats to compensate. There are layers of RNG and not all of them are necessary.

24 RepliesThis is the only change to the game that genuinely has me worried. Because this is a radical move that is running the risk of blowing up the pve side of the game. Either by making the game as obnoxiously unrewarding as it was in the vanilla game, or moving forward with a loot pool that is too small, too boring and too constraining to sustain player interest. This move isn't playing with matches. It's playing with a blowtorch.

1 ReplyThis has me worried. What is this game if not grinding for guns & then god rolls for said guns? I genuinely hope something is implemented with some form of variable drops. People complain about grinding in this game and don't realize that that is a big part of the game, it kept me coming back. Maybe if they have a significant amount of content at launch and then continuously support it with additional content somewhat frequently. Then maybe this won't be an issue, we'll just have to wait and see.

Hoping this means bungie will step it up and: 1. Make the initial loot pool much bigger than D1's current setup. 2. Actually expand the loot pool in expansions instead of cutting and replacing then pretending that reintroducing cut content somehow counts as new content later down the road cough every ttk cut exotic cough every Y1 weapon that got brought up.

14 RepliesAll the VOG weapons had set perks, arguably the best perks, and I played the VoG era more than any other. So it really will depend on drop rates. If everything drops like it does now there will be virtually zero grind and Destiny will be a PvP game.

Everyone loved vog & raid weapons because they were 1 of a kind, & effective
-
Happy about it.
-
If the RNG removal is what screws PvE, then PvE was already screwed.
-
I don't like it !

1 ReplyEdited by Kone19ps: 7/2/2017 1:02:01 AMThis is an upside for me. No more wasted time. Damn stupid slot machine

I feel like it doesn't matter.

Edited by Vulcan_Blitz: 7/2/2017 6:20:59 PMSimple fix by Bungie, adjust gears drop rate and make it much less than it should. Edit: Also make sure when you do get something that it is the same pair of boots which you already have gotten for the 6-7th time in a row.
-
2 RepliesInstead of grinding for a better version of what you already have, you'll already have the best possible version, and will then be able to grind for something totally new.
-
1 Replythe model for creating new weapons and armour seems unsustainable. Also what happens when you have all the weapons ? is that the game over? Seems prety limiting in PvE endgame, if there is such a beast in D2
-
17 RepliesMost of the best PVE weapons in Destiny 1 had fixed rolls. E.g. Original Fatebringer, Blackhammer, Gjallerhorn. Most legendaries you pick up today are junk, not because of archetype but because of perk set. Theoretically Bungie can make weapons that are awesomely set up for PVE without the fear that some drops of it roll just too strong for PVP. Also it will free people's minds. People no longer have an excuse that the guy with the Clever Dragon beat them because his Clever Dragon was better than theirs.
-
4 RepliesWell look at it like this, now we can grind for specific weapons that we thin k are cool or suit our style.
-
3 RepliesThere will still be plenty of grinding left to do. And plenty of infuriating RNG too. Fret not, they'll find a way to waste your time.
-
Funny I never complained about rng I complained about not being able to change the perks. I also complained that pvp should not be rng but should be placement rewards in order to encourage people to become better players I also complained that there smart loot sucks if they take rng out you remove the fun all game know that rng is fun and grind for is also fun but to much is a boring to just remove it competely is disappointing it will make destiny less the game we return to again and again seems like is destiny streamline everything in the game and that will just make it boring.
-
WOTM weapons didn't have set perks...Pfft of course they didn't.
-
I'm fine with it, most of the time I'm using raid weapons anyway so they always have set perks.
