[rant warning]
For real I mean I know all these complaints aren't justified but why does it seem that D2 is catering toward pvp with there changes. Of course I can't really claim that but changes like subclasses the weapon system and super changes all seem to favor pvp. While they also seem to help pve with new exploration. But subclasses and the weapon system impacts pve it's just kinda annoying. I doubt much will change from ranting. There are plenty of these on YouTube just ugh. I hope I'm wrong and I'd love to be wrong but D2 seems to be trying to create a better pvp experience at the expense of pve. Also like really would it cost to much or be to hard to separately balance pve and pvp.
Sorry for any bad spelling/wording this is just a rant I wanted to post

2 RepliesEdited by RPColten: 6/22/2017 1:18:34 AM
Are you guys still going to try to balance unilaterally across PvP and PvE? Part of the fantasy of Destiny is building your character and taking him or her across all the modes, so that consistency is really important to us. I think that the heart of your question can be interpreted in a bunch of ways, which is “why did you nerf my hand cannons in PvE?” A question that I’ve asked, too.
This was from a recent interview via PC Gamer with Luke Smith. Reading into the message, it comes out to me as a statement saying "We know that players don't like it when PvP affects PvE stuff too heavily, and we will try to avoid that." I could be mistaken however. I'm taking it with a grain of salt however.

2 RepliesIt's not impossible. Bungie is just lazy and want us to play their way.
-
2 RepliesD2's gonna suck, just don't buy it👎🏻
-
It's not impossible at all, but it's not what Bungie wants so it will never happen. It's all about what Bungie wants.
-
No its not, Bungie is too lazy or incompetent to do it.
-
12 RepliesI find it hilarious that people are still somehow incredulous about this. Bungie has explicitly said that they do not want separate balancing multiple times. It goes against their vision.
-
6 RepliesIdk why i keep seing these posts. They've already said they're treating and balancing PvE and PvP differently.
-
from a design side of things, you need two tables, one for pve and one for pvp, iits not really that difficult a thing to do from a design stand point however, from bungies idea of the world we play in, they want weapons to act identical everywhere.. they forget that they already have things that don't act the same.
-
No it is not but they want Pve game play to carry over to Pvp for some reason But it does not carry over at all all my Pvp builds are Pretty useless In pve and vice versa
-
No it is totally possible. bungie just likes to spit on pve players.
-
To answer your question, no. It is not impossible.
-
4 RepliesNot impossible, just breaks the game. In a game like this, you can't have a gun behave in a particular way in one mode, and then have that same gun behave differently in a different mode. The best way to imagine what I mean is to think about Borderlands (the closest game to Destiny genre-wise) and how some of its guns behave. If you entered a PvP environment with some of those Borderlands guns, it would be some of the most unbalanced crap you've ever seen (which I know is bad, because I know you play Destiny). That's why Borderlands doesn't have PvP outside of small duels between friends.
-
9 RepliesThey can adjust individual weapons now. That's good enough for a lot of us.
-
I don't even think you need it. Just separate Trials from PvP. Make it a fixed gear vanilla play list only using Gunsmith type weapons. That, and a few "balanced" fixed game modes would seem to me the best way to fix the problem. For the players who complain about balance (endlessly), you would direct them to those special play lists.
-
No. Bungie view is it breaks the fourth wall
-
Perfectly doable, way easier than trying to balance 2 very different modes with the same changes at least. Hell I'd argue that since PvE is supposed to be a power fantasy, it shouldn't even be balanced, or at least very loosely and chaotically balanced, like Borderlands.

First time someone said rant, and didn't actually rant. Thanks, other just rant and don't warn anyone or add a TR;DR drives me crazy.
-
6 RepliesPossible? Probably. Cost-effective? Presumably not. Bungie is a business. If they think that the paying more money to separate the two game modes will be profitable, they'll do it. If they think the rewards fall shy of the expenditures, they won't. Businesses, as a rule, have to give the people what they want, but there has to be sufficient profit in it for them.
