I'm leveling a Sun-singer Warlock and I wanna know what to use?

I have a titan and a hunter both pretty high level that I've had since year one. I'm kind of an expert when it comes to those to classes, but I'm a bit stuck on what I should use for my new lock. Thanks!

  • Depends on skill level and game mode. Honestly usually you wanna decide what is most comfortable for you then build around that. Here is an unfinished montage. Based on gunplay but not so good in tiers with better players. Want more info click on rise of the sun. Best and most widely used in larger rooms and PvE is a solar grenade build. Smaller rooms go fusion. Learn the jump and your range first.

    So.
TL;DR: Fusions are good, but solars also burn a lot. Always use focused burst. Use radiant skin, unless its trials or salvage and then run fireborn. Flame shield is generally best. Radiant will is generally best as well unless doing boss dps, and gift of the sun/touch of flame are two good passives. Three good armor pieces are HoTPF, Starfire Protocol, and Sunbreakers.
Grenades: PvP: obviously, fusion grenades are in a very good spot right now. They are one of the few readily available OHKs left in the crucible, and have a generous amount of tracking. If you practice with them for a week, they can be very powerful. However, as solar grenades have their own innate burn and with touch of flame you can have another stack of burn, one solar grenade can do a full 70 damage just in burn plus the rest of the actual grenade's damage. So they are a good choice too. PvE: Use solar grenades if you want to take out a large number of weak enemies like a stormcaller, and use fusions if you want to do high dps to a single target. Jumps: PvP and PvE: Focused control is trash for pvp. Only use it when trying to get out a higher place than you can usually, because it gives slightly more height than Burst. Balanced glide is ok, but you're still a very slow predictable target. Focused burst is the best choice, since you can use it to warlock skate, and learn to become very unpredictable and mobile with the quick burst of speed it gives you. Super Upgrades: PvP: Song of flame is also pretty bad in the crucible, and only use it when you're messing around with some friends really. Radiant skin is my usual choice, as it allows your sunsinger to tank a hammer when in your super, and it lets radiance last the normal duration. Fireborn is ok for trials and salvage to save objectives and rounds, but your super is shorter and it's easy to get shut down. PvE: Song of flame is ok if you want some extra boss dps by throwing a grenade every time you have to reload, but radiant skin is still better for survivability. If you are not going to be actively using your super on the boss/adds, though, then fireborn is the way to go as it can be used to save wipes or compensate for mistakes. Melees: PvP: Primarily use flame shield. Even after being nerfed over and over and over, it's still the best upgrade. If you're on full health, it will let you tank a double melee (if you have a high armor stat.) However flame shield does make your melee recharge very slow, so if you want more OHK melees in your super, then use Solar Wind or brimstone. PvE: Flame shield is again good for escaping sticky situations, but brimstone can also be useful to generate tons of orbs with the passive Sunburst. First Passive Tree: PvP: Radiant will should almost always be used in the crucible. The other two passives SUCK. Sunburst is not going to generate enough orbs to make a noticible difference over the course of a game, and Vikings funeral will literally only give you a five percent damage increase on someone for 2.5 seconds if you land a grenade on them. There is no point in using it. PvE: here, the other options start to be better. Radiant will is still great for cleaning up tons of adds with your super. However, Vikings funeral is ok for boss dps. (If you are going to use Vikings funeral on a boss, here are some quick tips: 1. Remember to use touch of flame! Otherwise it will do nothing. 2. Don't use fireborn. It will decrease your super duration and the debuff won't stay for as long. 3. Always have max discipline to get out as many grenades as possible. 4. Use fusion grenades. While solar grenades with sun breakers can sometimes do a little more damage than fusions, they don't keep the full three stacks of Vikings funeral up. Only fusion grenades do that, because they apply touch of flame twice per explosion. Look it up if you don't believe me.) Sunburst, when coupled with brimstone, can be an orb machine. As enemies that are killed by bimstone's explosion also generate orbs with sunburst, you can make tons on groups of weak enemies like thrall. Second Passive Tree: PvP: If using solar grenades, touch of flame is pretty useful as well (as mentioned above) to secure some extra burn damage. Angel of Light is really only good for very accomplished snipers, as it leaves you a big, glowing, stationary target. Gift of the sun is obviously good all around as well. PvE: Again, always use touch of flame when using Vikings funeral. Angel of light is also slightly more useful here to peek over hydra shields or jump out of a bubble to shoot a rocket at something. Gift of the sun is still good. Exotic Armor: PvP and PvE: the three exotic pieces that I would recommend specifically for sunsinger are the Heart of the Praxic Fire, Sunbreakers, or Starfire Protocol. HoTPF just generally enhances your radiance, and lets you spam even more grenades. Star fire Protocol is good if using fusion grenades, because it frees you up to use touch of flame and therefore also Vikings funeral, while still holding on to two grenades. Sunbreakers enhance the solar grenade's zoning potential, and give you two of those as well. If you read that wall of text, wow. I'm surprised. It's just 2.5 years of being a sunsinger unloaded into the keyboard.

    • Fusions are good (1 hit kills atr always great) and Solar are decent, but the debuff doesn't work long enough and it doesnt do enough dmg to use them in Radiance.

My sunsinger on rn, but you can use gift of the sun as well, it's personal preference. Sunbreakers are also very good that I haven't been able to pick up yet (nor do I want to) cause they look terrible ;) Oh and Starfire Protocol if you're
That guy
Dragons breath + solar grenades + the grenade ignite ability is like the pinnacle of area denial

    • Never created a hunter or titan, day 1 warlock here. Max intellect and max discipline with sunbreakers, solar grenades, touch of flame, Viking funeral, radiant skin, max recovery build and an armor that stacks recovery boost per grenade kill up to 20 seconds. You welcome.

        • Get sunbreakers and run solars with touch of flame, and viking funeral. Great in both PvE and PvP If you're looking more team support then use sunbreakers anyway but with the brimstone upgrade for scorch, with sunburst. Punch one thing and when it dies, it explodes and everything that falls to the explosion generates an orb on top of the one from the initial kill. Then run an artifact that has a chance to generate an orb on a solar melee kill to make a nightstalker look useless without a super use.

Are you doing a crucible build or a raid build either way I recomend a viking touch build with sun breakers and a solar grenade its a good all rounder but in crucible I would stick to control type game modes to make the build more effective pair with teir 5 diciplin and a tlaloc *edit* for 3v3 or doubles having a sword can be very handy on a warlock as it allows you to move pretty quickly when paired with focus burst and you can peek around corners without letting the enemy know but I recomend switching to a launcher for 6s as a sword tends to get shut pretty quickly

            • If you have started leveling up your warlock Go on your phone and use your GPS to find the nearest hospital immediately, there is a chance you may have contracted aids. If it is to late please be responsible and delete your warlock before infecting future guardians. Just because you have come Into contact with aids doesn't mean your life is meaningless. You can still live a long prosperous life. Not many guardians know how they can contract aids so please spread awareness. The more people know the better. Good luck guardian and God bless

              • Solars or fusions for PvE -when using solars, use sunbreaker guantlets -when using fusions, use starfire chest or voidfang vest (grenade on respawn) Agility doesn't help warlocks much at all, armor a recovery are the biggest thing... plus, not having armor is what opens you up to a lot of deaths from things that you COULD'VE survived(hawkmoon will 2 shot you with litc proc'ing once without armor). If you have double grenades from one of the two armor pieces, use viking+ToF. If not, use gift of the sun for 2 grenades. -If you want radiance to last as long as most supers, use the duration perk instead of Viking funeral. -If you want to spawn tons and tons of orbs, use brimstone+sunburst. -If you want +1 recovery and a fast melee charge...and a slight knockback, use solar wind.......brimstone also has a reduced cooldown. For radiance: -If you want to survive a lot longer, use radiant will or skin...cant remember the name, whichever one is the reduced damage perk tied to radiance. -If you want to share half the effect of radiance with nearby friendlies (cooldown reduction), use song of flame. Probably my favorite version. -If you want to make sure you/your team won't have to wipe, use self rez.(It got hit pretty bad with a nerf that makes this perk cause radiance to last like 7 seconds instead of the approx 15 seconds of standard radiance).

                • Sunsingers and please when doing PVE make sure you use Viking Funeral for extra DPS. It's probably the most underused perk for more damage
