So I usually play a couple of matches of trials with some other friends during the weekend and we run stacked as that's what playing trials is made for, having the bet team possible to compete. So we end up matching another person who at the time was streaming (not going to disclose the name) and they were doing a carry. As you would expect because we are stacked we had them up 3-0 almost 4-0 when I get a msg saying "back out, this guy paid for a carry" from one of the opposing players. Needless to say we 5-0ed them and bagged them the whole time as they were doing paid carries and told us to back out. If you aren't good enough to carry don't take someone's money and say you can. Don't take their money at all, just help them for gods sake.
EDIT: Hey guys didn't think this was gonna blow up but I guess good? I'm back to clear some misconceptions. When I say stacked I meant that I ran with a squad of really good players that I often play with meaning good team chemistry and good gun skill.
Another thing some people are saying I should have let them win, the issue is that he revived money for something he can't actually do and expects others to help him get said money for nothing in exchange. This is a game, not a escort service. If it was a friend of mine I would have backed out as I know them and trust them.
EDIT EDIT: So a lot of people see me as "scummy" for running stacked. The truth is they are my friends and they're good too. I play to play not for Elo or kd (sometimes I do) but I like the aspect of the game and playing with good people. I assume tho that running stacked is frowned upon because I play with friends? Let me go bring up 2 random lfg players and constantly loose.

I remember getting to the final game third attempt and had lost the last two. The team we faced was a French team of streamers who proceeded to kill themselves and give us the win. Followed by a nice msg enjoy the lighthouse.

9 RepliesSomething related to that happen to me, I got a message from someone on the opposite team saying "Please let us win, its my Birthday" .. so obviously after we 5-0 them I wrote back to him "Happy Birthday!"

4 RepliesGood. I mean, it would've been very kind of you to give them that win, but I don't think that's expected in the most competitive game mode in Destiny. Plus if you 5-0ed them, I'm assuming they sucked. Come on though, you had to t-bag? Thats cruel.

I was called a shotgunning bitch, hate mail means im getting good at shotgunning again 😉
-
I don't play trials myself but why do people feel the need to pay for flawless carries?
-
4 RepliesWhat's more hilarious is you people getting so worked up over bagging. It's a fkin video game and you idiots are getting salty over someone repeatedly pressing the crouch button. Lmao

I guess people could argue that spending money is always up to the owner where and how to spend it. Even if it sounds cruel and dumb, but if there is demand then I understand why people offer these "services". Sometimes even the best sherpa finds a team that is better then he is. I dont know who the "sherpa" was, but I surely would check his trial stats before even thinking about spending money. That said I would never do that. I value my money more then spending it like that. And on top of that I could get it for free if i realy wanted to and cared enough. I always prefered to play trials with casual friends rather then sweat my pants off.

Nice.
Your name gives me cancer RIP
Sadly, I would have asked'em how much they make and were I could sign up. Then maybe leverage the win for a reference.
-
I don't even play trials, but you did the right thing IMO.

Well done 👍

Edited by fr88g: 4/18/2017 3:16:16 AMI like you...a lot...
whats a small part of the streamers name or a clue maybe? If not. That's cool. I would be able to figure it out with very little all I'm saying it's not name and shame.
Not your fault, destiny

Edited by PR4X1S: 4/18/2017 8:11:21 AMNothing wrong with what you did, paid carries are a disgrace to the gaming world. Now if it was just a friendly carry, for someone who's never been to the lighthouse (like me), then maybe if your in a good mood it'll be cool to back out, just to lend that helping hand of your own.
-
You did the right thing lol. Anyone that pays to win deserves to bagged lol
-
1 ReplyI would give him about tree fiddy

7 RepliesStomp the hell out of them. Nobody deserves free wins without actually having to try; whether they're being carried, are Lighthouse virgins on their flawless match, or whatever.
-
I hate paid carries with a passion, I don't mind streamers that carry (at least not as much as I used to), but paid carries grind my gears

1 ReplyI don't understand some people on here saying that you should have backed out. That, to me, is crazy. I'm all for capitalism and capitalizing on other people, but that applies to everybody. In this case, you just capitalized better. It's easy to say that it would be the nice thing to do...of course it would be nice...doesn't mean OP is immoral for not doing so. If you promised a service you could not provide, especially if it's competitive, don't expect other people who want to win to bend backward to accommodate your inability. I've never done Trials, don't have the skill, time, or desire to form a good team. But, I would not expect someone else to dip out just to give me a participation trophy. That's horseshit.

2 RepliesI want to say that this is great cause I hate paid carries in anything ESPECIALLY raids. I think they are the worst. Then again I hate Trials. It's ruined most of the game thanks to whiners from it. This post has given me a crisis. I don't know whether to say way to go or just be meh cause it's two kind of things I hate: super competitive people and Trials paid carries. Send help.
-
I ws expecting a post about the trials glicth were the timer gets stuck. Happened to me. The other team messaged me, "youre bad so just back out." Like hell ill back out. Took me an hour of persistents, but finally they left. P.S. good on ya mate, paid carries are the worst. Stomp on them fools. Including the "customer".
-
I would have done the same thing. Stay in the game a beat them. People who pay for a carry in trials are crazy. Just play the damn game. People who accept money or ask money for carries should be banned. But that's my opinion.
-
Thats funny, they just assume you'd let them win. Gross.
