Raiders are angry people.
First off, long read.
I'm gonna start by saying I was a very active player in year one and year two, I raided a lot.
I have noticed over time that raid groups have been getting more and more spazzy about people being perfect. And a lot of the time the ones who cry the most are the ones who have two completions and have seen all the YouTube walkthroughs.
So my message is...
Don't be so jumpy about finishing first try. Learn your teammates playstyle/timing a bit. Bouncing through 5 different raid groups just to finish is just as slow as wiping 10 or 15 times.
I did a Crota challenge last night with a kid who almost EVERYONE would have kicked, he was just not very good. We were trying to do Crota with two swords and I missed two hits so we would have to do three. So we let the kid try on the third sword just for fun, and he clutched it out. Now the kid feels like a champ, he's stoked on raiding, and will probably get better as a result. And now we have one more person to raid with.
Let's stop scaring away potential raiders for us to raid with. I know people don't want to spend all day doing a raid, but come on laugh a little have some fun... It is just a game after all.
Edit: thank for the replies guys keep em coming, we want more people to be able to link up with other cool players.
Saturdays are my raid day. Anyone looking for a chill team on xbone hit me up then.
Edit 2: wow a whole day later and we still on top of the trending. Keep it up guys, we will make raiding fun for all.

1 Reply1. Raid challenges is now limited to the hardest difficulty only. (version 2.6.0) 2. Normal difficulty of old raids have poor rewards that cannot be infused. Both of this may be scaring away new players as hard is too hard for some players, and over 95% of players on LFG (Looking For Group) is doing the hardest difficulty. I think this might be Bungie's mistake. It wasn't that way back in year 1, on Destiny version 1.2.0.5 and before, where hard mode is mostly just more rewards per week, and players was happy to do normal raids back then.

1 ReplyGood job!! I got my first raid done last Friday. It was thanks to some cool patient guys,like yourself, willing to help. When I get to be a raid veteran, one day, I plan on doing the same for other scrubs.

1 ReplyI've noticed I've definitely gotten angrier and less patient since Y1, think it was King's Fall that ruined it for me. I usually love helping people with first time raid runs but KF was so mechanic-heavy and team-relient that I'd end up explaining the exact same thing over and over and over but someone would just fail at following instructions and cause a wipe so it just got too frustrating. I'm still pretty lenient with newbies as long as I can tell they're actually trying but I'm a lot quicker to snap at my regular team since we've been raiding together since the beginning and they should know what they're doing by now.

We used to have a guy in our group that would just rage when anyone died during raids. He would tell people their gear was crap, they were a horrible player and he'd just drone on and on with tirades full of swearing. I eventually had to ask him to calm down, just ask not be all in his face. Well, 3 days later he says he's taking a break, unfriends all of the group and leaves the clan. Long story short, raiding has been much more fun since rage boy left. Sometimes people can't realize that games are meant to be fun.

5 RepliesI have better luck when i make a post than i do joining one. If you join our group then you gotta be chill and have fun. Will boot anyone with a bad attitude in seconds. There's tons of people wanting to play.. You're not doing anyone any favors by joining our group and acting like a dick.

Looking back on it now i want to -blam!-ing kick myself for getting that angry over a game. :/ At least i got good loot

When I form raid groups, purposely post in the forum that I want chill, patient people only. Yeah I want them to be skilled, but I'd rather play with cool people for an extra hour than with dicks to get the raid done as fast as possible.

1 ReplyYes, I don't mind teaching others but when some people blatantly ignore your advice, my patience starts to run thin. I don't get angry, I just give up and stop playing at that point. Example, I was running first sword and can usually do it in one sword with weapons of light and such, but everyone at the top couldn't down Crota AND get the Oversoul. We figured out why the next day. They continued to use rocket launchers at the Oversoul, even after multiple attempts at suggesting they use snipers or a golden gun with nighthawk. Spent hours trying with them and now I know why it wasn't working, after the fact. If people would listen and trust those who know how to do it, then I think people would have more of a success rate. I never try and boss people around because that is douchey, but if I suggest nicely, multiple times, on alternative ways of doing things, and people still don't listen, I give up. I really don't like wasting my time unless I'm there to mess around in the first place.

You know it's really simple to explains this.... this game has been out for 3 years now and when you played the same raid during its release 100x to get to max light your less accepting of bull especially year one players. Believe it or not most of the vet players are getting it perfect because do you know what wiping over and over and over again does? It makes you better because you learn the rhythm. Btw this was not a simple explanation but it's the most probable one.

4 RepliesI am not an angry person, but I do get frustrated sometimes during raids. I can't help myself! I generally take on the responsibility of being a leader because LFG groups tend to be disorganized and uncommunicative, but then I get frustrated at other players after hours of failed attempts. That's not how a leader should act! We are all here to have fun. I have no excuse for my behavior and I wish I could always stay optimistic and helpful. Hopefully in Destiny 2 I will become a chiller person during raids.

2 RepliesMe and my friends did king fall during year 2 the other guys were putting pressure on one of our teamate because she is a girl. I mean they were being total jerks to the girl just because It was her first time on king fall. During power the gliph the others were YELLING at her just enough to make her cry so she leaves. Then me and my friend decided to ditch the others to help her. We actually found another fireteam to do the raid and we completed it. The girl was so happy that she got all that armor and weapons she said she will never forget this 😇 Then the other jerks started sending invites and they were STILL STUCK ON POWER THE GLIPH So me and the girl joins them tell them we already completed it. After that they kept apologizing to her but she ignored them. There's always nice people in the Destiny Community 😇😇😇

1 ReplyIts funny because last night (like an hour from reset) was running with a group trying to do Crota and there was a kid and two friends trying to boss us around doing Ir Yut challenge. We were there for almost an hour and a half and getting no closer to finishing it. They blamed everyone but themselves. After i came to the realization they were never gonna do it, I took matter into my own hands. When clearing adds i just destroyed Ir yut when they were (trying) to kill ogres ( 5 seconds left btw). Got rewards from the section and they truly started to throw a fit and didnt seem to like it when i told them they werent good enough to do it anyway and perhaps learn to listen to others than blame others for their own mistakes. Definitely felt so good to do after dealing with those idiots for a few hours.

If someone has a very busy schedule and wants to get a raid done fast...I'm conflicted on that. On one hand, okay, makes sense, you have things to do. On the other hand, raids are designed to be the most time consuming and challenging endgame PvE activity. If you don't have the time to do one at a normal pace, maybe raiding isn't for you. If someone has a clear schedule and just wants to raid quickly because they're impatient, well...it's a 6 man raid, it's not gonna be all about you.

the amount of sexual intellectuals out raiding is incredible . but I've got to tell you, it hasn't really changed since launch. forever 29( till IB started to drop *32 gear ), and not having a ghally till Xur sold it second time in Y1 really put the kibosh on my raiding career in Destiny. [spoiler] getting booted cause you don't have gally ( while having Truth and all 3 burns in legendary form W/ tripods) during TDB multiple times really killed it.[/spoiler]

I love raiding but I've quite countless raids due to people who are either knowitall asshats who constantly wipe the team . Sorry but I love a raid with a fun group of people . Now if you bring an attitude we kick . However I won't waste a day raiding. If you can't get it after a few wipes and either your gone or I'm gone . I have no problem helping people through but some people just won't ever get it .
