I'm still playing Breath of the Wild. But I'm slowly reaching the end. And while I know there will still be a significant amount of content to play left. I don't want to just play Zelda forever. But Zelda has me in a very medieval fantasy type mood. These are 2 games I own but could never get into. And I was wondering which I should play first after Zelda? I'm feeling ready for them now. I want to play Witcher for the beautiful open world and characters and story with a great feeling of exploration. But Dark Souls sounds great for the pure experience it is of a dark game with environmental storytelling and challenging but rewarding gameplay with excellent bosses.

1 ReplyWith dark souls, I've found you don't REALLY enjoy it until you have the "moment". There's a time, usually after throwing yourself at a boss repeatedly and FINALLY beating the -blam!-er, that something just clicks. It's then that you get the game, get how it is played, and start to have fun. If you haven't had a moment like that, pay it again. It took me trying dark souls a couple separate time, ds2 a couple times, and bloodborne finally got me to love the games. And ds3, while a but too short, it's a great game. Especially the new dlc

2 RepliesWant a great story? Witcher 3. Wanna get frustrated? Dark Souls 3.

Gameplay DS Story Witcher

Edited by Murph Tha Smurf: 3/29/2017 12:53:18 PMSince you have them both, DS3 will be quicker than Witcher by a landslide, if you're just looking to check it off. Witcher, on the other hand, is just an extremely high quality game throughout its entirety (except a little bit of a weak start but that was mostly due to the old menus). I'd go Witcher personally, especially if I could only pick one or the other.

Ds3 for gameplay Witcher for story

If you want to sink into a game youre better off with the witcher 3. Pro dark souls 3: - better fighting mechanics - darker theme - you form your own story whilst playing /experiencing the game - quite challenging at times - variety of builds possible Witcher 3: - large world with tons of interaction - alone the main quest takes hours - great synchro - lore behind it is huge - so so much to explore and find - easily a 100+ hrs game

24 RepliesEdited by Naja: 3/31/2017 7:34:45 PMThe amount voting DS3 is funny, yet sad at the same time Edit: Having said that, I still believe TW3 is the superior game, but I recommend playing DS3 now before it dies again; the community fell off a few months after release and it spiked shortly for Ashes of Ariandel, currently the community is active for The Ringed City but once it dies this time it'll most likely be dead for good

That one is easy, Witcher 3 by a landslide. Now if the question was Witcher 3 or Dark Souls 1 then the answer would be very different.

I greatly prefer The Witcher 3, but it may be smart to not play it directly after Zelda. Dark Souls 3 could give you a nice change of pace before taking on W3.

1 ReplyWhy not both (._.(

7 RepliesBoth amazing games, definitely worth a buy. Witcher will most likely keep you busy longer but the ringed city is coming out tomorrow so right now is the best time for DS3 if you plan on doing any coop or pvp. You won't go wrong either way

2 RepliesWitcher 3 is an absolutely outstanding game and very much worth playing. Dark Souls 3 is amazing in almost every way and there's no way I can't recommend it. You want a great single player game and story? Witcher 3. If you want a challenging experience with great gameplay? Dark Souls 3.

3 RepliesThe amount of trolling here is unreal. If you're looking for an open world RPG, eeeeeeeasily Witcher.
