Some of the footage and gameplay I've seen look bloody awful. I really want this to be a good game when it's out but it's not looking so. The facial animations and voices are so bland, but gameplay looks decent. Should I let this ruin the game?

2 RepliesHey if you are a mass Effect fan listen to the the mass effect die hard fans who say it's so easy to look past all this crap. The walking animations are apparently a occasional bug.

4 RepliesThis confirmed a lot of my worries, and it is a good source. I'll still get it though and make my own mind up. Here's hoping red dead won't follow this trend.

The game is good so far. Played my 10 hours. Noticed some animation issues yes..but it doesnt dilute the game as a whole.

2 RepliesLets be honest here There are only 2 things (albeit Major) things wrong with the game 1. Animations, yes these need to be fixed, and they will, as its BioWare 2. No Natural Caucasian Skin tone, This is due to the "White Hating" Developer, Good thing hes been fired now (but Caucasian Skin tone will be added in)

We'll see full game reviews tomorrow. If sucks there are plenty of other games. Nothing to panic about.

11 RepliesEdited by eviltedi: 3/19/2017 1:15:05 AMJust used up my 10 hour free trial through EA Access. The game is fantastic. Massive areas to explore (once you have the Tempest and the Nomad). The level design is exceptional as always, the voices are a little cheesy at times, but the lip sync seemed fine in most cases. Multiplayer is great too, loads of characters, and bonuses for owning ME3, Dragon Age etc. Multiplayer is different this time. The jump pack and side thrusters add a new dimention, in a good way. To sum up, it's Mass Effect, it's great, cannot wait for my pre order to unlock. I could go on for ages, but I don't want to spoil it for all of you, I vote 8.5 to 9.5 out of 10 on what I've played so far. Edit = One more thing, the game has a film grain setting set on by default, I think many of the clips you're looking at have it enabled, I suggest you all check out the graphic settings, I switched it off, looks better to me that way.

3 RepliesThe animations will probably be fixed in updates.

2 RepliesDude calm down, MEA is pretty good according to the people who are taking the trial seriously and not creating an abomination and acting like it's the game's fault their custom character looks ugly.

2 RepliesEdited by Doctor Electric: 3/19/2017 2:58:30 PMFor those of you who are chastising this guy for taking in too much consideration of the animations issues, keep in mind; the preview demo covers the first few hours of the game and first impressions matter when a game hasn't even come out yet
Less than a couple of weeks from launch and everyone is giving this a free pass. Noice
12 RepliesYou people are seriously blowing this animation issue out of proportion. I've been hearing more and more glowing reviews of the game yet people like you are letting some unimportant facial animations ruin the experience. Get over it.

1) I'm seeing a lot of the same clips over and over again so they may be isolated incidents and/or thugs that can be patched up. 2) I completely understand the shock and disappointment people have with some of these clips as you'd think a developer whose making their 4th installment of a particular title would have ironed these out over the years especially with the help of better tech. But the fact of the matter is Mass Effect has never been crazy good with animation or graphics. In the prior games everyone had dead eyes, weird faces, walks etc and we loved them... so really this shouldn't change much. 3) If this is the sole complaint people seem to be having I'm taking that as a good sign as opposed to gameplay flaws, horrible load times (the elevator), retarded AI, etc. We will all see when we get to play it for ourselves but it seems like s good old ME game with better combat to me

8 RepliesIDGAF about the facial animations, what does concern me is the comments I've been hearing about terrible voice acting. I'm not picking it up until Tuesday and withholding all judgements until them, but it doesn't sound good.

4 Replies"THE CUP DOESN'T LINE UP WITH THE CHARACTERS MOUTH IN AN IN ENGINE CUTSCENE?!? THIS GAME IS SHIT!" -Seemingly Everyone Here

Gameplay is great. Voices haven't bugged me yet but to each their own. Facial animations are redundant seeing as after the start of the game you'll spend the majority of your time in Armour or in the Galaxy map unable to see faces.
-
Figured the game would be shit. Just wait a day and buy one of the return copied if you want to play it
-
Depends on what matters more. If it's animations, don't see how you got through the first series. If it's story... The question should answer itself. Best of luck with the choice.

I'd wait for it to go on sale(price drop)

3 RepliesEdited by Pheint3d: 3/18/2017 4:21:38 PMYea I was caught off guard with all the stuff that's surfacing. Mainly because there should be a higher expectation in 2017 right? So taking that at face value, there's some quality issues that mainly deal with how pretty the game is. There is also probably a ton of stuff in that game that isn't in the older games. So the potential of positive surprises exist. It's possible to far outweigh the cons as well, but also possible to add to them. I was excited for the game, but I also expected it the have a somewhat higher quality showcasing after it went gold. Not equal to the reveal obviously, but not currently what's been found. I'm also enthusiastic about multiplayer too though. So what I'm going to do is wait a few days or week (s) before grabbing a copy. To hear how the pros/cons line up from various user reviews. I haven't played a trial version, but my gut has been telling me it's probably not as bad as it seems.
