So, after buying the special edition of Skyrim and just not touching it because I was bored by the lack of difficulty, (I've played through the game before)
I decided that I would get dark souls and I'm starting at 2.
I have to say, I am enjoying the learning curve. It took me awhile to get the combat down, but I enjoy how every enemy feels threatening and how mindless attack spam will get you killed. Also the fact that all enemies are deadly but can be taken down after some rolling and planning out attacks.
Overall I'm just loving it.

Get Dark Souls 3 as well. I started with DS2 on PS3 and played it a ton. IMO Dark Souls 3 is better in ever way.

6 RepliesWhy start at 2? It was, arguably, the worst in the series. Now that's not to say it is bad, but 1/3 were much better, and harder. Guess it makes sense to start at the easiest and work up. Just note, unlike most RPGs, Souls doesn't have a in your face story. Some people really care, and this is a letdown for them, others not. Minimal cinematics. The story is in the areas, items, dialogue, and your attentiveness. Souls 2's story is a bit all over the place, and has practically nothing to do with 1/2, but it is there regardless. My main advice: pick a build and stick to it. Worst thing to do is change a build mid run and waste levels. This does not include the few "stat reroll" items you get in a playthrough though. Pyromancy is always nice to have for non mages. Takes practically no level investment, and is mostly free. Always good to have.

2 RepliesDark souls II was pretty interesting. I never finished it personally, mostly because I'm just not into the whole dying over and over again thing in the Souls games. Not a bad game at all, just not my thing.
