EDIT: There was a bit of confusion around this matter, but many of you who answered got it right, and I got it wrong. In the recently published patch notes can be read "Special ammo is wiped at the beginning of subsequent rounds." And that is GREAT news, because what I was worried about was that only the first round was going to be fair, and it will not be the case.
Thanks to everyone that replied and sorry about my misunderstanding. I might just erase this post...

Hi Bungie and guardians,
Actually, the nerf itself might be a good thing. There’s nothing wrong with promoting more primary gunfights, right?
What I’m having trouble with is the HOW they will nerf Special ammo. And specifically, how it will change Trials of Osiris.
Basically, the team that wins the first round will have advantage over the other one. When you die you lose your special ammo, so losing a round means no one in your team will start with special ammo the next round. Meanwhile, it’s very likely that someone in the other team (if not all of them) have their shotguns/snipers/fusions ready to comfortably push you, win again, charge super, and gain un unstoppable momentum.
I'm pretty sure we will win and lose more matches than ever by 5-0. And I don’t think that’s a positive thing for my favorite game mode :(
Please Bungie, reconsider. Alternative: losing ammo when dying is fine (you have zero if revived), but at least start each round with a minimum of special ammo. That way, dying has a severe consequence, but the next round is still FAIR.
Any other ideas?

How about this deep deep down no one cares about primaries so why fight it
-
3 RepliesNeither team will have special in round 2 of Trials. Besides that though, nerfing special is a colossal mistake. We have 3 sets of weapons to use and are now mostly pigeonholed into using 1 class because they have taken away all the ammo for the others. Nothing says fun in a shooter like having guns with no ammo!

3 RepliesBeing as 45-46% of my crucible kills are with primaries... This won't hurt me a bit. I'm interested to see how this changes crucible for a player like me.

Love fusions-but this ammo nerf has ruined em for me. Side arms it is.
-
I never understood why they didn't just make different playlists of modes with things like no special ammo or no supers. Nope instead they break the whole game gg bungie your horrible.
-
it may be a buff to special
-
3 RepliesIt's already been confirmed that BOTH teams lose special on the second round.
-
1 ReplyYou should check your facts before making a post like this. Also, screw trials.
-
3 RepliesI would be ok with this nerf if they undid the ammo capacity nerf
-
1 ReplyPeople, people! In elimination and ToO, both teams lose all their special at the end of each round. The only one you start it with is the first round. It doesn't matter who wins or who dies, neither team gets special.
-
2 RepliesSpecial hardly ever comes into play when im playing trials, unless they get too close, then i go all jimmy neutron and just gotta blast on their face with my fusion
-
1 ReplyEdited by TURBO COW 9000: 2/13/2017 2:58:58 PMI think they should make you spawn without special ammo at the beginning of every round or game in elimination. Either that or leave it the way it was before.

3 RepliesWho cares about trials. Its a trash gametype
-
1 Reply#primary playing .....
-
1 ReplyBungie can't think that smart. Sorry man... My favorite gamemode is gonna suck
-
1 ReplyFirstly Id like to say I dont agree with this change either but you really dont understand the change at all, go back and read it....at the start of a trials match everyone will have ammo...if you die you then lose your ammo....thats round 1....when round 2 starts....everyone will start with no special ammo regardless if they have died or not...hope that clears it up for you.
-
1 ReplyHow about if you die with your special in your hands you'll lose the ammo?
-
2 Repliesno point in speculating. No one really knows what will happen until it happens. Think about that for the rest of your life.
-
1 ReplyTrials of Icebreaker/Invective. Lol
-
1 ReplyMain problem here trials is already broken if it's more broken no one cares. Simple thing to do is just have special with each round.
-
1 ReplyThey started on twitter that everyone loses special after the first round
-
12 RepliesNews flash: Trials of Osiris is not the only game mode in Destiny. It's not competitive, and it has dragged in a toxic cesspool of degenerate assholes. Cheaters, paid carries, and general douche-baggery abound since the inception of Trials. My suggestion? Get rid of it. Now that we have Private matches we can get far better games going anyway. Moreover if Private Match options are expanded for Destiny 2 we'll have a whole new way to play.
-
1 ReplyI don't think you respawn with special in trials win or lose. I think only the first round will have special available.
-
1 ReplyI play a lot of other shooters and they don't have ammo boxes anywhere
-
3 RepliesYep with this patch we will have people who quit just cause they loss the first round so we will see even more negative feedback about too and mm.
