7 RepliesThe first time I heard that Bungie would lose some of their stock to Activision if D2 gets pushed to 2018, all I could think was "great, they're gonna release a half finished game again and try to fix it with DLC's"
-
1 ReplyI swear this is a misnomer. Bungie employees can lose some stock benefits/perks/incentives if development is delayed. Essentially less bonuses because a bad launch is costly.
-
5 RepliesDidn't they do The same shit to infinity ward and now Activision owns IW? That's savage. Think about it. Bungie made halo, halo used to be CoD's #1 competitor right? Of Activision owns bungie, then they literally own the competition.

I do hope this is true. Destiny 1 was pushed out the gate too soon (amidst story writers jumping ship) and it's probably the main reason much of the lore resides in grimoire cards... Who knows how many times destiny 2 has changed direction in house? I imagine Luke smith was brought in to focus the team in a single direction, so they could be on track or they could be behind by months as a result of differences of opinion. One things for sure - they have 3 years of play testing & feedback (both here and on Reddit) so let's keep our fingers crossed that they nail it this time. I want D2 to have a cohesive story personally - not a bunch of random encounters tied together with the thinnest of threads.

2 RepliesPeople can say what they want but they need to show what's backing them up.

15 RepliesThe exact terms of Bungie’s arrangement with Activision are not totally crystal clear to outside observers, but it seems like, at the very least, it’s apparent that Bungie is responsible for putting out one piece of truly substantive Destiny content every fall, if not a full game. 2014 was Destiny 1, 2015 was The Taken King and 2016 was Rise of Iron, even though that was the unofficial time period in which Destiny 2 was supposed to come out in the first place, according to internal leaks. Now, it seems like Activision is putting the hammer down and making it clear that Destiny 2 cannot or should not be delayed any further, or else it starts hurting Bungie and its employees. You can read this as Activision taking Bungies shares. I believe this more than their denials.
-
Title is misleading, if you read the linked articles Bungie is the one denying this is true, not Activision. Also whether or not it's a stock penalty or not, this isn't the first time we've heard that Activision's contract with Bungie has some strict penalties for missing deadlines.

It is true so now it makes me think of how glitchy year 1 was. Bungie will push out whatever by the end of this year or they lose backing from Activision basically. Even though this game is making more money per ca[armory][/armory]p than call of duty. Activision what a joke of a company true symbol of American greed and not caring about the customer or its product. What a joke

Edited by Sarge-412: 2/12/2017 8:42:13 PMD2 was already delayed a year, no way in hell Activision is gonna let it go another year. Hell, we're lucky Activision let Bungie both delay it and make Rise of Iron in its place.
-
10 RepliesRead the article it is very shifty about it in the wording. Also gamerant is very unreliable. Kotaku has been right 100 percent of time.

Activision and Bungie have yet to reveal whether Destiny 2 will be available for PC,
I've heard it was confirmed.
is how Destiny 2 will address the carryover from the first game, or if there will even be any at all.
Pretty sure that was addressed too.

You know its real when they nerf any mention of it on here.

Edited by Devasstator: 2/12/2017 3:07:36 PMThey would say that no matter what. Publically announcing that agreement even if true, would put investors and consumers on edge. It would show a lack of confidence in their partner (Bungie).
-
Well I think if Destiny 2 was delayed another year, wouldn't that go against some contract terms or something? I'm sure Activision, even if they won't take stocks, will at least not be happy about another delay. Actually, no one would be happy about that
-
3 RepliesHonestly, seeing all these statements with pretty quick corrections being claimed really makes me believe Destiny 2 will be delayed. With so many loopholes it doesn't surprise me at all.
-
....well damn, soooo there no reason not to delay D2 again
-
4 RepliesYou mean Activision doesn't own Bungie already?
-
They are corporate we dont know if thats true or not. In the end we honestly know nothing.
