So we the suspect has been charged with multiple counts of murder, not terrorism which is understandable, personally I think this -blam!-er should be executed. There are 3 places that off limits at least to me, You do not attack a Place of worship, a school, or a hospital. Maybe I'm biased since I'm Muslim but I felt the same way about the Charleston church shooting. I apologize for rambling or being incoherent but I'm pissed right now. And it's not like this is a huge story either, imagine if it was a Muslim attacking a church I bet you that the media would be blowing up about this, trump would increase his ban and people would be trying to get me and other muslims kicked out. Idk you know just ignore this I probably won't even post it because it doesn't make any sense. Any way if you want to read up on this here's some articles.

Edit- So I just was reading more about this and apparently people are calling this a lone wolf attack. Really? What kind of bull shit double standard are you -blam!-ers playing at. Are you telling me that if a Muslim shot up a church in Canada that it would be a lone wolf attack and not an act of terrorism? -blam!-ing bullshit.

Executed? No. Let him rot in prison and suffer. At least, that's what I think.

12 RepliesYou are more likely to be killed by radical right wing nationalist than a radical right wing muslim in the United States. Rightists are dangerous at home and abroad. Notice how leftist nations have the highest standard of living.
-
15 RepliesHe's literally a terrorist, using an act of terror to further political views. How is this contested? I don't think he should be put to death, there is no hell and he won't be suffering
-
14 RepliesIt doesnt matter where a shooting happens or who does it. Because that person is already going to hell anyway. Also, nowhere is off limits to the mentally unstable. Perhaps it would be better to wack in some infrastructure to stop shit like this happening in the future.

2 RepliesEdited by SebastienC: 2/2/2017 10:02:47 PMThere is a distinction to be made here about this being terrorism or not. Everyone here in Québec city agrees that this is terrorism. It was premeditated, politically motivated, targeted at a minority in order to instill fear. The works. Even the ministry's prosecutors agree with that. Their decision to not accuse the killer of terrorism is based on expediency: 1) Proving he is guilty of 6 premeditated murders and 5 attemped murders is a slam dunk. They can't lose on this. 2) Proving he is guilty of terrorism apparently is more difficult. The legal definition here is somewhat more restrictive. The prosecution might lose on this one. I know, that seems harsh. But, you know, laws are complicated. 3) Proving terrorism on top of the murders and attemped murders would not add to the sentence (which will most likely be life without possibility of parole for 25 years), because we don't do that in Canada. As for the lone wolf thing, well, as far as we know, he was. Police has not disclosed any accomplices he might have had, and he did not seem to have ties with the known local extreme-right groups. That might change as further details come to light. (edited sentence to "life without possibility of parole for 25 years")

1 ReplyThey are not calling this an "Act of Terrorism" because it's Canada, and Canada doesn't have any terrorism laws like the US does. By calling it murder the perpetrator will get the max prison sentence.

7 RepliesEdited by Apostate: 2/3/2017 3:10:23 AM1.) If it was a Muslim attacking a Church like they have done all over in Europe (remember the Muslim kid who cut off the priests head in France?), the media slides the story, say they aren't representative of Islam and how evil white people made them do it 2.) Trump didn't impose a ban. He put a moratorium on visas for a period of 90 days to implement biometric technologies 3.) No one is trying to deport Muslim citizens. Stop being paranoid - it's a mental illness.

Edited by Reckless Grizzly: 2/4/2017 5:23:23 AMThe individual in question - Alexandre Bissonnette - became obsessed with right-wing xenophobic ideas perpetrated by influential personalities such as the French politician Marine Le Pen (who her father is the founder of le Front National, is a neo-nazii sympathizer and once said the gas chambers of Auschwitz were but a minor detail of history). When you have trolls and other vile right-wing extremists who spew destructive ideas over social media, someone like Alexandre is bound to be indoctrinated and maybe take extreme measures to carry out their folly.

Everywhere Islam goes, terror is NOT far off. You force convert and -blam!- women as slaves. The -blam!-ing sharia law and customs are designed to oppress women and make Muslims dominant. This attack was terrible no doubt, but don't give the bullshit "oh no I'm being victimized for being Muslim no one is paying attention to this" just shut up.
-
5 RepliesWell, if it's a Muslim terrorists it's usually not a lone wolf. Islam is a religion that condones horrible violence and human rights abuses.

2 RepliesEdited by Alpha alt 3: 2/3/2017 6:50:15 AMIf he's not a lone wolf, who was he working with? I'm pretty sure a lone wolf attack can still be a terrorist attack.

7 RepliesWhen Muslims kill people in America it's just called work place violence. So shut the -blam!- up.

2 RepliesIf a Muslim attacked anywhere and didn't profess some sort of allegiance to someone it would be a lone wolf attack. Maybe not anymore, with Trump, but Obama really wasn't trying to show his weakness on foreign policy with ISIS attacks erupting across America. They tried their damnedest to play down the terrorist connections when allegiance was claimed. Further, I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner and more often. Radicalism begets radicalism. Hate makes hate. A reckoning is coming and a shitstorm is building. I think we're in for some dark times. Muslim, Christian, or neither, the center cannot hold.

Edited by Ninjabird00: 2/3/2017 8:42:27 AMI don't care if they call it murder or terrorism or whatever. Just get that piece of crap behind bars

It was horrible what happened but I don't agree at all that it was a "terrorist attack." This was a lone-wolf gunman, if it was a terrorist attack then a lot more people would've died.
-
10 RepliesWell, it was "lone wolf" until some group comes out and claims his motivations. I would think you of all people (a Muslim) would be all for not labeling individual attacks from extremists as being attacks from the majority. Or do all of you work for ISIS?
I wonder if you can even type that without ending up on some "list".
11 RepliesFirm believer in "eye for an eye" justice. But now days, you cut off someone hands for theft, they will probably get a disability check.
-
1 Reply1. It is a lone wolf attack, according to Canada's laws. Stop assuming that with a Church, it'd be the other way around. 2. Increase his "ban"? Good. We need to fix our broken immigration system. 3. Who wants to get us kicked out? Alt-right teens, sure, but almost nobody with any political power.

1 ReplyEdited by Inflatablepants: 2/2/2017 2:12:16 PMWhat?! Dude it's a HUGE issue right now!!! They're talking now about outlawing Islamaphobia in Canada! Which makes NO sense since now Islam would be getting special privilege other religions don't get! Also, It's -blam!-ed up! No one should shoot ANY sort of place of worship!
-
Its OK buddy, we all can have tacos

17 RepliesIt's a pretty huge story in Canada and also was in the US. The reason it's not megaton level is because there's no new information coming out and everything is sort of uncertain. All we know is that French dude shot up a mosque. We don't really know anything else. At this point it's not really objectively any more remarkable than your average driveby shooting except that the guy somehow got an AK in Canada. I wish they'd release the CCTV footage and clarify witness reports of two shooters. Very confusing, and no new information means no news.
Actually a situation happened a couple years ago where a young Muslim man made an armed assault on Canadian parliament and it was called a lone wolf attack until ISIS decided to claim responsibility. So far ISIS hasn't claimed responsibility for this attack so there's no reason to think he was working with some sort of organization. Evidence right now suggests that yes this was a lone wolf attacker and no motive has been cited yet.
